Can't wait to see this new laptop and what upgrades it has in store. I think this will be the last one and then iPad Pro will replace it in the future.

I was kidding. I dont think there are sketches.

I'm still pretty curious at those claims. He first gave the thickness and weight of these laptops, with measurements that don't seem far fetched at all. Looking at how this is Serban who rarely make up some BS (based on what I've read on this thread so far), just made me even more curious

the new upcoming MBP will have 0.68" to 0.61" both of them. The weight it is 3.16 pounds for the 13" and 4.21 pounds for the 15"

but from schetses i think they will reduce the width also , the 15" speakers looks different

yes on monday we will see for sure the 4" iPhone, the 9.7 ipad, the bands for apple watch, the macbook getting the skylake core m with increase in performance by 10% cpu and over 30% in Gpu, getting 1 extra hour of battery life and rose gold option colour ,iOS9.3 and tvOS and OSX
MBP chances are 21 March 40%-60% WWDC

That looks really cool!

But for the love of god don't make it into a flat touch sensitive keyboard, iPads are for that.

TBH, I only really use the keyboard for short cuts, minimal typing...I'd be cool with that...if you could switch between the bottom half as drawing screen/device and touch keyboard that would be innovative and sweet.

Coders and the like would just have to get a colour coded blu-tooth keyboard if it bothered em' ;)

If they implement the whole touch thing and it works just like the trackpad, it might work. I am able to type pretty fast on touchscreens, but I miss the feedback I get from a normal keyboard. We'll see!

Either he is plain lucky, or he is from One Infinite Loop

He's speculating just like the rest. He was right on the iPhone, bands etc. Though the rumours were out there. But wrong on the Macbook, despite claiming it was a certainty.

Not knocking him, he seems to know his stuff, but he's not an insider. (And I've never seen him claim to be one).

obviously he can't tell much about the source(s).

wrong about what specifically?

He claimed that the Macbook was a certainty for the March event. It didn't happen.
Anyway the focus shouldn't be on him, I'm not knocking him, I'm just saying that his posts carry no more weight than any other educated poster.

He may be wrong on the date but he is quite spot on with the refreshed specs (and rose gold lol). Anyway I'm still taking him with a pinch of salt, I'm just curious how he came out with those measurements and claims of a sketch. Let's just wait and see what he got to say, if it's something creditable good for us, otherwise the waiting game continues (a month to go).

BTW if I'm an insider I won't openly claim to be one to avoid troubles lol. Just my 2c

If you think an iPad Pro could replace a rMBP, then you aren't the target market for a rMBP. Granted, it really wouldnt surprise me if Cook and Ive has some long term plan to replace everything with iPad Pros. The miserable state of the Mac right now is bit worrying.

I would be surprised if the 13" is "just" 3.16lbs, I think they will aim to hit 3lbs even and presumably the engineering challenge of doing that is why this release is taking so long

The MacRumors thread below is starting to gather a lot of attention on the internet and from other sites:

If we don't start seeing legit rumors, we truthfully may not see the MBP @ WWDC or otherwise...

"Apple’s Failure to Scale"
http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/apples-failure-to-scale
That macobserver article is absolutely on point. Funny how history is doomed to repeat itself with Apple.

WWDC is the drop dead date. If nothing occurs, I doubt anything is in the pipeline. The complete lack of legitimate rumors causes serious concern about WWDC and Apple's chosen direction.

I feel whenever we start to get close to major Apple event (March event, now WWDC) we start to panic at the thought of possibly not seeing a MacBook. Guys, chill out. They WILL launch at some point, and most likely are working on one. Just because Macs aren't as popular as iPhones, doesn't mean they don't matter. They're the perfect machines to run OS X on - Apples staple OS. This might be the last MBP redesign, however we'll see one. I've been waiting since early 2015, and honestly if Apples working on something nice, I'll be happy to wait a little more.

You know that the rMBP didn't get a Skylake upgrade even though they're ready and the rMB got one. that means they don't want to just refresh, they want to redesign it. I'm sure we'll see them this WWDC. The last redesign was done at WWDC 2012, so WWDC 2016 makes sense. they're on a 4 year redesign cycle...2008, 2012, 2016...so 2017, 2018 doesn't follow with that pattern.

Relax people, they're coming, in 38 days.:)

I'm going to be quite surprised if WWDC brings OS X Ive, iOS 10, Apple Music Beta 2 AND a full refresh of Macs. I've read "September" somewhere but I can't remember where (and I am not an insider either).

I read somewhere that iMacs and Mac Pro will be updated in September. not sure reading about MBP in September.

Very happy to see Serban's information. :)

I won't go into specifics, but Serban was one of the first to provide reliable information on the new Retina MacBook last spring (2015), if I recall correctly. Unless it was just pure luck back then I think the new MacBook Pro's are actually happening.

Things worth noting:

- A size of 0.61" to 0.68" suggests a slightly tapered design.
- 0.68" also happens to coincide with the thickness of the 13" MBA, which leads me to the next point..
- The thickness implies that Apple should be able to fit both Magsafe and USB-A connectors (judging by the MBA, although should be said, the MBA has a much thinner display so we don't know for sure)
- 3.16 lbs is still heavier than the MBA which weighs 2.96 lbs.
- A narrower body for the 15" model leads me to believe that speakers are now placed horizontally, above the keyboard, much like the rMB 12".

Surely WWDC must be where Apple releases the new rMBP, seeing as WWDC 2012 introduced the first revision rMBP. Lets just hope Apple releases both the 13" and 15" models simultaneously this time.

We should be seeing things in the next couple weeks. I believe we saw leaks on the 2012 rMBP about a month before it was released.
