All this hype, you guys make it out to be like the new MBPr will cure deadliest diseases.

Reality is, it will just get a 10% performance bump, new TB3 and slightly lighter with an extra hour of battery. Maybe a choice of colours. The 15" will just get another slightly less garbage dGPU.

I can't wait to read all your disappointed comments in 36 days.
My guess is there will be at least an up to date display (not resolution, quality) and better speakers (the current MBP ones are really bad). Also maybe a bit of weight reduction. If Apple is feeling bold, they will add the butterfly keyboard design. Design will probably only be slightly tweaked

Haven't you heard?
The redesigned Pro will have a 4K detachable touchscreen, the very latest Polaris GPU, touch-ID, Xeon CPU and watercooling.
The 13" will of course come with quad cores and include an external GPU.
Both models come bundled with Apples top secret VR goggles.

Don't stop believing.

You said something that was objectively incorrect. Someone told you that you were incorrect. It's ok.

Correcting someone and telling someone to stop posting are two very different things. It's okay, you're not the only one who lacks common sense.
[doublepost=1462718230][/doublepost]I will say whatever I want within the rules. No profanity or hate. With that said, that man was not simply correcting, he was belittling.

Every single one of you know I am right, but you can't side with the new guy. God forbid we all act like adults.

What you posted was factually incorrect. Also you posted it in a manner that might have started a flame (i. e. you've not only stated a false fact but also projected consequences as if this fact has been true). And being members of this thread for quite a while we all know for sure your misinformation has been spit before and quite recently, you're not the first (and not even the second).

So let's count.

You've shown disrespect to the community stating the false fact without checking your information first.
You've flooded the thread.
You've been spotted in a flame-like behaviour.
And you've done it even though recently it has been shown your words are false. I hope you've done it unintentionally.
Moreover instead of thanking the person who provided you the info you started arguing.

@Exile714 response was proportionate and right. You should've agreed with you being at fault, read the info graciously provided and return to the community as a useful member. You've started arguing being in the wrong. No one refused your right to post forever. Everyone was just trying to prevent flood, flame and false facts.

Other people sided with the right side.

I hope now you will change your behaviour. Not because I or anyone say you so, I have no authority over you. But because this is the right thing to do.

P. S. Look at me. I was wrong no earlier than previous page. Instead of saying "I say what I want" I've just said "My bad!".

You can't be serious? Starting a flame?! Flooding?! You either have the wrong person or you're insane. Check my post history...
[doublepost=1462720045][/doublepost]Oh and change my behavior? LMAO!!

So minding my business and posting my thoughts are a problem? Or is it defending myself from an insecure weirdo who attacked me for no reason?

This place is ridiculous. Mods, please close my account. Thank you.

Any clues about next generation after skylake? I have a feeling that Apple is going to skip this generation as well.
That is so sad, scary in that I have been wondering the same thing and I need a new MBP NOW! and will not buy last yrs( outdated when it was released) refresh.

You understand that what happens now is flame and it has been started by your initial post and then your inappropriate reaction to @Exile714 informative response?

Stop being drama queen. Man the **** up and admit you were wrong.

P. S. My account is just 3 months older than yours. Tell me more about not siding with a new guy.

This unfortunate lag between refreshes sure would make somebody skeptical all around, no doubt, but it seems like it'd be especially 'surprising' if we didn't get something at next month's WWDC.

We've discussed iGPU vs dGPU, we've also discussed the possibility of a 15W CPU in the 13" but what about a 28W CPU in the 15"? I've been thinking a lot about this lately. Apple would be able to make very thin MacBooks by using 28W CPU:s instead of the current 47W.

If we assume that the next 15" will drop the dGPU option (just an assumption), then the 28W vs 45W is basically a dual-core + HD550 vs quad-core + HD580. For GPU performance, the HD580 is going to outperform the HD550 but what exactly is the practical benefit of a quad-core CPU? Of course multi-threaded applications will be able to take advantage of the quad-core but what kind of applications are these? AFAIK quad-cores will not matter for video editing, photo editing or 3D rendering because these can be done a lot faster and more efficient using the iGPU. I doubt even games can benefit a lot from quad-cores because the GPU will be the limiting factor and benchmarks have shown that GPU:s are more important than CPU:s when it comes to gaming. Even web browsing isn't much faster on the quad-cores because internet speed is the limiting factor most of the time.

My point is that most MBP buyers will rather have a very thin and light 15" MBP with very long battery life than a thicker and heavier MBP with a quad-core CPU that is rarely beneficial and with a faster iGPU. I personally would like to have a thin and light 15" MBP but I would rather have at least the HD580 iGPU. I know it would be really bad for the power users if Apple decided to drop both the dGPU and quad-cores from their most powerful laptop but I just wanted to share my thoughts with you guys.

I've seen a lot of people here wanting the 13" MBP to have a quad-core CPU, what are your reasons / use cases?

If they go dual, then they have to drop the price. Not gonna happen.

Yes, its not gonna happen. I've seen plenty of laptop manufacturers include adapters, Apple is not one of them. The rMB includes one f*cking USB-C port and they STILL didn't include an adapter.

Agreed.

lol wut? Why are you buying a 15" rMBP when you want an Air? What proof do you have that 15" users want thinner and lighter on an already thin and light machine over performance?
I agree with you and have said the same thing at least twenty times on this thread.

Yeah, we get that. But TB3 is a pretty big deal as it's going to be the number one port for the foreseeable future. I'd rather the laptop I buy today have that for the next 4-5 years I own it.

Pretty good post, but sometimes individuals on these forums do tend to attack and ridicule others repeatedly. I can understand his point of view. We have to understand that no one sees all issues the same as ourselves, and when we read something on here it may come across as an attack even though it was not intended as such.

Well, just to change a lil the recently dynamic of this thread, and coming back to rumors: do you guys think we'll have some tasty rumors (like leacked mockups, parts, etc) before WWDC about MBP's? Or they will be kept secret and surprise us like the Mac Pro did in the WWCD of 2013?

It's pretty sad that close to one month before the event, we still only see news about OS/iOS updates, bands, iPhone 7 being the same as 6S, and so on. The only "rumors" are: MBP's said to have Skylake, better graphics, USB C ports. Really? We've been hearing that the whole last year since MB appeared, so nothing we haven't heard before.

For the people talking about Apple skipping Skylake, please note that Apple skipped Broadwell, but released an updated MacBook Pro anyway. You could argue that Apple should have used Broadwell, but it's not hard to see why they decided to release without it. The improvements for the MacBook Pro would be minimal, and Apple put more effort into increasing SSD speeds and adding a force touch trackpad. The SSD speed increase was significant, and probably a bigger performance boost than Broadwell would have been. That said, they released an updated Pro. They will this year too. The idea that Apple is going to go all of 2016 without releasing a new MBP is laughable. And also, the improvements Skylake brings with it are substantial, and Apple has already begun putting it in their computers. The idea that Apple will just not use it is equally laughable to the idea that they won't release a Pro at all.

Apple will not skip Skylake 100%. They are testing this chips internally for 3 months now

Serban speaks the truth, Apple include Skylake GFX kext since 10.11.4 betas. Again this info precludes skylake-h xeon chips (because the P580 graphics aren't listed).

Serban, do you know anything about the dGPU situation in the 15?
our test protot, are the base model, so not sure if they can include or cant a dgpu. we cant open them to see the space inside
[doublepost=1462730359][/doublepost]PS: 1 of the 3 prototypes for the 13 and 15" but its almost 99% sure that apple already choose this one since in march we heard they lock the design and chasis and ports
