All this hype, you guys make it out to be like the new MBPr will cure deadliest diseases.

Reality is, it will just get a 10% performance bump, new TB3 and slightly lighter with an extra hour of battery. Maybe a choice of colours. The 15" will just get another slightly less garbage dGPU.

I can't wait to read all your disappointed comments in 36 days.

I just want TB3 so fine by me.

I wanna know your opinion about this thought:

When Apple released the current design rMBP in 2012, I think they did this as "the next generation" MBP, after they updated the existing non-retina MBPs to Sandy Bridge. So you could choose the all-new rMBP w/o Ethernet, optical drive, FireWire etc or the old design w/o retina. And as far as I know they were on the same architecture generation.

Do you think it is possible that Apple will do the same thing this time and release a redesigned, space-gray, USB-C/TB3, and whatnot all-new MBP but still give the current design a speed bump with Skylake?

That would solve the "USB-C is the future" vs. "I want to stick to HDMI, USB-A etc for another gen" debate…

Well, just to change a lil the recently dynamic of this thread, and coming back to rumors: do you guys think we'll have some tasty rumors (like leacked mockups, parts, etc) before WWDC about MBP's? Or they will be kept secret and surprise us like the Mac Pro did in the WWCD of 2013?

I gave up. I don't think Mac rumors of substance will be seen before maybe 2 weeks before the event. Everybody seems too focused on iOS...

our test protot, are the base model, so not sure if they can include or cant a dgpu. we cant open them to see the space inside
[doublepost=1462730359][/doublepost]PS: 1 of the 3 prototypes for the 13 and 15" but its almost 99% sure that apple already choose this one since in march we heard they lock the design and chasis and ports

Serban, please share more details about rmbp with us..

I considered this alternative many posts ago, due to some rumors that came up from a chinese forum.
It could be, but now I'm not so sure about it.
Right now Apple has some different lines of products that needs to be clarified, or simplified.
We'll see.
A change of lines is surely coming.

y'all gone scare him off with all these pointy questions. Keep it squishy and use code if possible.

Example:

If I were in the market for a new MBP, would I choose 16 Gb or 32 Gb RAM. Hypothetically of course.

Oh, I thought you meant code..

print "Hello, Serban!"
"Goodbye USB-A?"
If Yes: Then happy
If No: Then crappy

Gotcha, Fixed:
Edit:
@Serban If the Macbook Pro were to feature a light generator, in which way do you think it would it hit my eye sockets?

@Serban When the new rMBP launches should I buy the 1TB internal SSD and use an external drive or just go for the 2TB internal drive? ;)

Serban has stated that it is the base model that is floating around in prototype. How would he/she know what possible upgrade specs would be if they did not know if a dGU could fit or not?

I think @Serban has access to more than he is letting on.

That is based on speculation and even if they did, I doubt they would tell us that much. I think screen quality and ports is a great question based on the exterior and display. I don't think upgradable internals are the best questions.

We know it's .68 to .61 inches in thickness, both models and it has TB3 port(s). The speakers are different on the bigger model and the width is a bit different too.

Shoot of course I meant they, not he...sorry @Serban.

Remember, there are 3 prototypes for both sizes. So yes, all have TB3 and the speakers are improved, but they are different in thickness and width(display size) but close to each other. But again we don't know what they chosen back in March , but i believe are these since the testing is still in progress...if you choose other than this one why would you let people to test them hard if they will never see the light right?!

I can understand that but do any/all of the prototypes do away with the USB-A ports?

So would I be in the market for a 13" model...not a 14"? And should I look for magnetic charging or glowing logos as bonus gimmicks...um features. ;)

@Serban and @EveryoneElse, when we say "TB3" does that mean USB-C with TB3 protocols (or whatever you call the software side of things) or does that mean a physical Thunderbolt port?

Thunderbolt 3 supports USB-C directly, I.e. If you have a USB-C cable, you can plug it directly into the Thunderbolt 3 port without any adapter. It will transmit data at USB-C speeds if you are using a USB-C device and cable. If you plug in a Thunderbolt 3 device with a Thunderbolt 3 cable, it will transmit at Thunderbolt 3 speeds.
