Finally things are moving forward!

..now @Serban, does Santa come to visit us in June or October?

Does Santa bring a new generation of Air as well? ...or do we survive without it from now on?

Can someone explain what watts have to do with CPU power, I'm hearing that Apple could move from 28W to 15W, but what does that do? Does lowering watts lower the amount of power a CPU can use and thus makes it less powerful?

i dont know anything about air, just mbp and mac pro. since apple decide to lock in 1 design from 3 since March i guess is 99.9% for WWDC announcement. We don't know about the shipments quantities if they are ready for masses since June etc

Thanks! Wow, I'm very excited and happy right now. Yes, news about a MacBook Pro made me happy. :)

Oh sure. I believe so as well. But if these compromises lead to a product I don't like to use, than I'm out.
And the keyboard is a very important part of that. I do not like the MacBook butterfly switches at all.
That's just my personal opinion, but it makes me kind of angry that Apple seems to force every design decision on every product line these days.

See...for me I use a MacBook Air and find the keyboard ok...abut clicky...but then I tried my husband's MacBook Pro keyboard and I hate it...that's SUPER clicky...like little loose chiclets. Yuck. I agree that the MacBook keyboard is quite stiff with very little travel, but I find the new witel as keyboard Apple released to be very good for feel so I hope that's the keyboard Apple puts in the new redesign.

Serban is really still around?!! :O
Haven't visited this forum for months (or has it been years?!).

But I remember back in the days, when it came to rumors, he had the same track record as my cleaning lady ;)

For everyone who doesn't know who @Serban is, he has been leaking info about unreleased Apple devices for a few years now. He has a very high track record and his predictions are usually very precise.

I appreciate that you could share this info with us Serban, I was afraid that the lack of rumors would mean that the MBP wouldn't be released in June but now I'm relieved that that is not the case.

Like i said, we don't have the access to the "main table" where the final decisions are made, i learn from Apple that nothing we know here is 100% sure will happen, but 99% Mbp will be at WWDC, not sure that they can ship the next day (since intel had some big issues with the cpu). But it is 100% that new MacBooks are coming but we dont know if these are the final Macs or apple is planing some new ones 4 years from now. Probably at the end of this year we will know an answer .

Hmmm, I hope the info you are providing is accurate. Some speak highly of you and some are skeptical (me included). Right after WWDC people are going to either hold you up in a pedestal or tear you apart (digitally of course). :D
yes, i am aware of that. This is how the world is. When you are right you get, gj and that it, when you are not (even if isn't your fault, you are tear apart). I hope, since i want to upgrade my late 2013 that the new ones will be indeed present to the world at WWDC. But keep in mind, if they can release them in June or July, they will, if they can't because of the cpu quantities i think they will not present them and wait to do an event in August i think since October event is not a "nailed" event for mac and ipad anymore

Serban has stated repeatedly that there are a number of prototypes floating around but they believe that a particular model for both sizes has been locked in. You can't hold them liable if there are slight variations in the final product or even when the final product is released.

Announcement by WWDC, Serban says most likely yes but also said that they don't know when general availability would be. Be a bit fair here, Serban doesn't make the final decisions but the information that was given sounds promising.

Yeah, I hear you. This sounds like what I have been wanting for a long time. :) Give my fiancé my old 12-inch MacBook (though he is hesitant about the one USB-C port, I told him I have had no issues and for his uses he will be fine) and get myself a 15 inch new one.

Let's just hope they can get this out in June, or the very least announced in June and out in July.

dont be, they are ready but its the problem with the chips. Last change for the chips was in February, since then no problems. But i guess Intel waited to see if the new chips has any issues until 4May. I know they have their own product that is based on those problematic chips so...intel has a tough situation with these specific cpu
