Ok, i think its all set and all is working fine for the past 2 weeks with the current testing cpu, and starting with this month Intel will start making these cpu in mass production for Apple, so we should start to see some rumours again.
I mean from our department all is working very well, no issues with the heat, battery, apps, os, ports etc, and we have the same chips for 16 working days. But from beginning of June we will beginning to see the new macOS, i hope not major issues with current configurations

...I would like something powerful enough to compete with a PC mobile workstation such as from Lenovo or Dell but with Apple build quality and design.

Then you want something that doesn't exist.
"Recent" Apple laptops were more about portability than power.
The thing that surprise me, is your surprise about it :D
I still remember how I was badly surprised by the first retina MBP and its crappy dGPU.
Nonetheless, it was quite a good machine.
And now that we're seeing even better improvements, you're disappointed?

Sarcasm friend. If all they offer is a 6770 for $2000 and no other major improvement, that's going to be a bit of a letdown. I'd much rather see a 6700hq + whatever dGPU (firepro mobile maybe), and that could have been out months ago.

if you see one, buy one.
i'm tired of all the people complaining about apple not building their dream machine, even though they beg for parts that have never been on an apple laptop before (like workstation grade gpu).
i mean, do you really expect it? or do you just want to spread some hate? common, let's wait in peace alltogether :)

I want something that I can edit video on with reasonable performance...as a stretch, maybe even 4k or 1080p raw without being agonizingly slow. I want a little more PRO in my MBP than the current gen offers. I would like something powerful enough to compete with a PC mobile workstation such as from Lenovo or Dell but with Apple build quality and design.
Try iris 580 pro

~100% gain over 5 years not fantastic? That's absurd.

Compared to what we used to be getting, no it's not. 5 years used to mean ~175% - 200% gain in performance, I'm not surprised that this is what people still expect. So it's not really that "absurd" to make that statement.

However, times are different. Moore's law is dead and these types of gains are what we need to get used to (for now).

the fact that you keep calling it macOS means that you're also testing the upcoming 10.12 OS? it was rumored that they will switch (back) the name to macOS, but currently the official name is still OSX.
gotcha? ;)

From physical POV it's doable - look at HP Zbook Studio.
But from Apple marketing POV I agree with you and it's sad.

I am getting more and more excited by the day guys! A month and some hours left!!

The need for a laptop is getting bigger by the day and WWDC is the perfect timeframe to purchase a new rMBP!

So I am not asking anything specific, not asking you to reveal any info.

I am just curios about your personal opinion about the design of the model you are testing. Does it look nice? Cool? Beautiful? Sexy? Different?

I know that design is a matter of personal taste. But I am wondering how do you feel about it.

finally i can game on medium settings and don't care about the electric bill
No you can play on high settings, and play for longer than you would be able to on a gaming notebook

But I have to say your comment was funny, made me laugh

He said in June he will be testing the new MacOS / OSX 10.12

No hate!

I'm not really begging for parts. I think in essence I'm begging for a laptop that is in today's market what the '11/'12 MBPs were in their day...if that makes sense. Something that can legitimately last 4-5 years, and is pretty close to price/performance/design competitive with anything else on the market. Something that can run a simple project in Davinci Resolve (as an example of something on the higher end of the resource usage scale). The impression that I'm getting from you guys is that this is a silly fantasy. I don't see the current MBPs as something I'd spend money on. That does kind of suck. I'm hoping for a little more than a skylake with a decent iGPU.

yes from my personal point of view, it will be an instant buy, replacing my 2013 one. My personal working apps works even better, i never had any pdf "laggy interface" if any one knows what im talking about. i think for anyone with default config older than 2014 is a must buy if they can afford it, but not so much for latest ones with dGPU amd.

I'm still on an early 2011. It's been great, and still feels like a strong machine, but it lacks retina, and I know it's got limited time left. I've been through 2 batteries, 1 main board (GPU issue), the paint on the palm rest is oxidizing away due to skin oils, and the moshi pad I put over that is wearing away due to friction. I've got a 1tb drive swapped in-place of the DVD drive, an SSD swapped in-place of the primary drive, and upgraded RAM. I'm more than ready for a replacement ... instant buy no matter what they announce.

@Serban I can see that you have a 12" macbook and I'm waiting to choose between 13" skylake macbook pro and new 12" skylake macbook. Now, i prefer 12" model over actual 13" mbp. You know two models, so what do you think is better about quality/value/performance and portability? Thanks a lot!

Oh I wish to see all your faces when they announce the mbp at wwdc but release them this fall!

I would be fine with that. It's the unknown that gives me anxiety.

Yes, about 2 hours given unspecificied conditions.

I want confirmation that it's Iris Pro 580 though. :(

I mean it's will either be 580, or a faster dGPU.

Either way will be good
