Of course we are going to be disappointed if their is no new hardware at WWDC! I'm expecting it because it's high time for new MacBook Pro's. There is no reason for them to fart around like a grandma trying to drive around town anymore. If they are only going to use an iGPU, then there is no reason why they shouldn't release it at WWDC. All of the components are available now for both 13" and 15" MBP's, and by the time WWDC rolls around, they will have been around for over a month. However, if they are going to employ a dGPU in the 15" and it won't be available until the Fall, well in that case, they can just announce it, start shipping the 13" models and the 15" iGPU model and say that they will start shipping the 15" dGPU model when the parts are available in volume from AMD or Nvidia (but probably AMD). I don't think that that is unreasonable, and I think it's what we should be expecting from Apple.

Agree on all your points Brad however it appears for many it's a fact that WWDC will bring us the much anticipated updates. I would have bet my left arm that we should have seen that during the March event already, least for the 13".

You just can't tell these days.

just out of curiosity, do you know if the roundup said the same thing before the 2012 wwdc refresh?

Looks like it did mention Macs before the 2012 refresh. From what it says, it looks like they "were to first to report" the first week of June that new Macs would be coming at WWDC. It's still possible then that we get some leaks leading up to WWDC, since it looks like the 2012 updates were discovered a week before the announcement. Who knows, though.

Look at the Mac line-up, they are all out-to-date apart the MB. So imho of course there will be some kind of hardware announcements at WWDC. The problem is if they will meet our expectations that are growing more and more every day.

With the lack of any rumors regarding a redesign, can we assume that any new hardware will be a spec bump to Skylake?

The lineup is pretty bad. Usually there is a lot of staggering with new-ish products and older ones which is fine but it is fairly lopsided now. Kind of disturbing, hopefully some big things are coming down the pipeline in June.

Wondering what Apple has for us at WWDC on the software side , considering Google just showed off some pretty cool stuff. (Google Assistant, Home, Android N)

Even if Siri and her ilk were more useful, I don't think I'd use them anymore that I currently do. When it comes down to it, I just don't want to talk to my devices. It just seems so weird and I can't get over it. I know that people on tech sites like this really like these types of technologies, but I'm wondering how much normal people use them? I honestly can't remember ever seeing anyone I know ever interacting with an assistant before. It just seems so gimmicky to me, and it always has. I vastly prefer just using my fingers and the touch screen.

I use it a lot ... just not when others are around as people will tend to think I'm speaking to them and they interrupt. Or you know, they think I'm crazy lol.

Kinda bummed that Google took the Home name... I was going for a similar device to be names Apple Home... Oh well... Apple A would be cool too I guess... The beginning of the alphabet and first letter of Apple :)

Just being out of date doesn't mean Apple will do anything about it, even if that 'anything' would just mean adjust price.

Example?

MacPro
MacMini
Thunderbolt Display
13" classic MacBook
Airport
Time Capsule

Guess im just trying to prepare myself for the next disappointment.

The first three need an update, but the 13" classic Macbook doesn't exist anymore, Airport and Time Capsule may not have been updated, but they don't exactly NEED to be either.

I would love that my tv to have built in an apple tv, facetime camera, sensors for autobrighness and auto volume and such more

Nice tease there, thanks. Unfortunately (for me) I'd rather just have really well performing notebooks. I like to PRODUCE content more than I like to CONSUME it.

Yes you produce but when you test what you produced you just consume that

Sure, it wasn't meant to be offensive. I guess I wanted to say: I appreciate new technology coming (maybe) from apple but I'd favor advances in their (once) core-business: computers! :)

I can order the classic 13" just fine in the Apple Store.

By out of date, I think you mean technology. The MacRumors buyer guide puts this in perspective, though, in terms of days since an update.

MacPro: Currently 882 days since last update, Previous long 685 days. Prediction: Over due, but they could wait
MacMini: Currently 581 days since last update, Previous long 723 days. Prediction: Could be another 6 months
Thunderbolt Display: Currently 1708 days since last update, Previous long 651 days. Prediction: Now or never.
13" classic MacBook: This is EOL
These are all things that Apple has historically not updated every year. Airport and Time Capsule don't have buyers guides, so can't comment

MBP: Currently 436 (13") / 366 (15") days since last update, Previous long 294 days. Prediction: WWDC ;)
These computers Apple has updated every year without fail.
