maybe this could be good news or bad...but i think this could be good news..maybe my 3 June appoinment will have at main thing another units with Intel kaby lake ? maybe Intel and apple are at something like they were years ago ?! i dont know but i am very exiting to found out more
[doublepost=1464684411][/doublepost]but again its just a report..

What do you mean by appointment? Do you go to meetings where you get to try out new products?

here we are again, there's no real reason to skip skylake for kabylake.

and, IMO, there's no reason to introduce a 13" macbook.
if they are going to introduce another 13" laptop we are going to have 6 different laptops in the range of the 11-13 diagonal. SIX, not to mention all the variants and cto options.
air 11, air 13, cmbp 13, rmbp 13, rmb 12, rmb 13, it's a no point for me.
if they are going to introduce another rMB they should wait until they can drop the prices (coreM cpus still cost a lot) and remove part of the airs (keeping just 1 model, low price, as they always did for the Macmini).
but they've just "updated" the airs, with 8gigs of ram, 3 months ago.

now, for a moment, just imagine to be a new customer having a budget of about 1200$ in the process to buy an all purpose compact and portable mac, that will last for a long time, what would you buy?

yes but probably next year apple will cut the price for Macbook around 1099$ so will be no need for Mba that will begin to be discontinue
[doublepost=1464685426][/doublepost]and that cMBP will be discontinued when the new ones will be released. So 3 mac models will be removed within 1 year, maybe less

Fair enough

Would be nice to see how thick cooler is inside this Zenbook 3. Ridiculous...

I am not familiar with Asus products so much, but i can see on this video another eGPU solution which could be connected to newly presented Zenbook 3 via TB3(USB-C). (03:40)
edit: it is ROG XG Station 2

and that's what almost everyone thinks, but at every wwdc or keynote or refresh in the past 3-4 years someone predicted "the end of the cmbp" but it's still there.

I'm not really a pro user, but I don't like the screen on the Air and I don't want just one port.

Macbook 13" with at least 2 ports would do, but I guess that won't happen.

So October it is.........

Oh. See some rumours saying it might actually have 2 ports. Optimistic again.

They said the same thing about skylake chips. Even though everyone thought they would be coming later, Intel publicly confirmed : nope, they are coming 2h 2015. And none came out. Til like October the core m ones came out. And here we are with no skylake MacBooks except for the rmb that just got that recent update.

Trust me we will not see in kaby lake macs revealed in 2016. Except perhaps a core m Mac mini, at the very end of the year... But I don't even know if such a thing exists

wtf october 2016 ? most of the students won't be able to get a discount for the university! That's really late, but I assume that Apple have same good reasons for the delay. We are no insider to evaluate this decision. What ever, I will wait for this notebook :apple:

For Apple to release a Mac, they need to have bulk supply of the chip, and steady reliable supply. This is why lately Apple can't release computers with new chips as soon as other OEMs

I am kind of in your spot. A 13" rMB may be ideal for me if it had like 1 usb c and 1 usb A.

Yes they are, both low end Apollo Lake and high end Kaby Lake, but not till the end of the year and that's providing their are no delays. And they won't have CPUs suitable for the MacBook Pro out then so they will probably be launched next year.
Apple will be announcing new MacBook Pro models at WWDC as I already stated, they have no reason not to.

What will be more interesting are the next Surface and Surface Pro models, if they use the new Intel chips they could have very interesting performance boosts.

It's your choice if you want to sit there and believe no new Apple laptop will appear until October, even though the fact is it won't be until next year probably second half, so a year ish from now.
But Apple have simply been waiting for the new chips they needed, they have them now, in production, they will update the MacBook Pro during its tenth year anniversary and the most likely time in the calendar for this is WWDC. Doesn't take a genius to think these things.

Just my .02 - I don't think the new MBP's are ready to ship even if they do announce. My rationale - people are buying laptops for HS graduates in the US. Why wait until WWDC when people will be looking for graduation presents now? Unless the plan is to clear out the old inventory and they gave them the MacBook already.

It is true that History tend to repeat itself, as we're somehow in the same situation of one year ago.
But still... relax, guys.
There is no reason in the whole universe for Apple to release the new MBP in september/october.
Instead, every little clue, every slight rumor, every logical prevision point to WWDC.
Just 13 more days.

October?! That's ridiculously late... I start university in September so I'm really screwed if they launch it that late. WWDC is ideal, and the very latest I can cope with is an announcement at the September iPhone event and shipping the next day.

Apple would miss out on the back-to-school market, and a lot of other customers - every other manufacturer already has skylake and delaying the MBP makes no sense... I'm still hoping they'll announce it at WWDC and perhaps ship in July.

We will reach 1000 pages until the skylake rMBP is available ;)

We will get Skylake rMBP when there will be no more demand for Skylake but for Kabylale or even Cannonlake (or whatever lake they will come up with).
On the other hand, If it gets so smooth to skip one or the other, lets skip more of them at once ;-)

You do realise you have just made an assumption on all you just typed, with no facts or proof to show any of it is true right?
The current logical timescale is WWDC, if Intels history is anything to go by it wouldn't have MacBook Pro Kaby Lake processors out till next year. And then you could all worry about the next Intel chip technology and waiting for that one.
