I would go Windows because I literally have no laptop at all, but some things about Windows bother me. The spying on you, the trackpads, battery life, speakers, and customer service.

The other day I updated my Windows 7 VM in Parallels to Windows 10. The first time I opened the Start menu, a Twitter tile appeared with a tweet from Donald Trump. What a wonderful first impression Windows 10 made on me.

how much does anybody think i could sell a brand new 2015 15" with 1tb for still in box and wrapping? 2200?

Unfortunately, listing things as "brand new" tends to raise suspicion, and you get a lot of lowball offers. I just recently sold a 2015 15" still shrink wrapped for less than I expected, despite being pretty patient.

Could you guys tell me more about the whole spying on you , I keep reading it every week ! :/
When you first set up Windows, DONT use the express settings. You can turn off all tracking and spying crap in Windows 10. It's not even an issue if people would take 60 seconds to go through the settings on first boot.

Yea I understand that. Do you provide serial numbers to show its legit? How much is less than expected? 256 or 512? My 2011 13" is fine. Just never opened the 15 because I've been waiting for this new one to drop.

Unfortunately this doesn't switch off ALL spying AND those settings you adjusted might be set back silently via updates. Don't let them fool you.

Guys...no more m3 CPU for the MacBook on the italian store, but "just" m5 and m7. Could this mean something?

BTO delivery in Norway has 'slipped' to 10 to 14 days (delivery between 17.06 and 21.06)...

Same in italy...

Yep thats 100% a sign.
A sign that you should stop being that excited and check the shop every 5minutes ;-) .
It just means your addicted to Apple ;-) thats what it means.

There's been some good discussion about various ways Apple may choose to use an OLED touch panel above the keyboard. It seems pretty obvious different functions could be triggered depending on the program that is being used but one of the ideas I heard someone mention that stuck with me was that the panel could be a great way to visually que up Siri being triggered so real estate on the screen isnt taken up.

I did a quick mockup of what this interaction could possibly look like with Siri being activated on the touch panel.

This is going to happen. This absolutely makes sense..!

Interesting that the rMBP, MBA, and Mac Mini all have extended delivery dates for BTO configs, but MB, iMac, and MPro don't have extended delivery dates for BTO configs. Probably something simple they ran out of and can't get them locally at RadioShack any more, like 10K 10Ohm resistors
in Italy rMBP 15" BTO delivery date start from 17 June to 21

I haven't owned an apple laptop in the last 4 years so, yes, pretty excited and ready to be dissappointed

Beautiful concept, but there is a thing that seriously scary me.
The function commands.
If I'm using Siri and suddenly I need the Esc key? Or the mute button? Or else?
I hope this OLED bar will be very reactive.
Still quite doubtful about it.

Meanwhile, tonight I've dreamed the presentation of the new MBP.
My God, I'm becoming obsessed...
o_O

I have been using a maxed-out mid 2012 MBP15'' since it arrived, what a solid machine, speakers sound bad after few falls on the floor, once on a concrete, I thought it got f***ed but no, screen is still very good, still using the original battery that lasts more than an hour, I only needed to buy the power adaptor twice in four years which is fine, I think El Capitan made it slower a little, It's my only computer that I use for everything and overall Im very happy with my purchase, I plan to max-out the redesigned MBP and keep it until the next redesign.

Waiting for WWDC's new bands.

That's my EXACT same situation. Though the battery is VERY disappointing. Apple quoted 80% capacity at 1000 cycles. I'm at 776 cycles and battery is at 72%. 3 hours on a full charge after 4 years is shameful. I expected to get about 5 hours (per their own statements).

Can you get a new battery for free if it drops below 80% if you haven't had 1000 cycles?

the amount of places that you will be able to plug in your Mac will increase exponentially. This is the aspect that is not being examined. You will be able to plug your mac even to a portable battery pack. I will miss magsafe, but certainly welcome the big advantage of being able to plug in my laptop anywhere.

Sounds pretty good.
But you should always pick the hardware you hook up to a data bus carefully. There already is malicious hardware and it's pretty sure numbers will increase.
In case MacOS wont ask for permission every time a device is attached to a port, which might be as annoying as Vista's 'Blabla wants something, cancel or allow'-thing, you wont be sure what the device connected to your super-universal-Charging-USB-TB-Port does.
