That was my thought exactly when I heard the announcement. After so much time waiting for a retina Air and then they give us that RMB that nobody asked for.

I think the skylake's integrated graphics will be much better than iris pro 5200I'm usually not one to complain about waiting for the next upgrade, but it's torture this time around. Can't decide if I wanna get a 15 rMBP baseline and wait to upgrade to next years iGPU/dGPU option (if there still is one) or just snag the m370x version now and keep it for 2-3 years. Anyone hear anything on performance for the upcoming integrated graphics? (I'd assume Iris Pro 6200 mobile?)

Is the refurbished discount that good? Plenty of deals flying around for new kit. What do you guys think buying a refurbished base model mid 2015? Can't wait any longer ... It's killing me
I don't want to buy it and next month the skylake MacBook is released! With much better graphics and possibly a new design... In my country it's a considerable discount...Is the refurbished discount that good? Plenty of deals flying around for new kit.
Not sure why it's killing you to wait. If you need the thing buy it.
How well does Apple kit hold it's resale value in your country?I don't want to buy it and next month the skylake MacBook is released! With much better graphics and possibly a new design... In my country it's a considerable discount...
I'd assume the M370x would be better than the iris pro 6200 mobile found in broadwell, but the desktop version iris pro beat the AMD http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Iris-Pro-HD-6200-Desktop-vs-AMD-R9-M370X/m30277vsm30774
It holds well but sell it a month later ?How well does Apple kit hold it's resale value in your country?
Meanwhile the 45W skylake H with iris pro are nowhere to be found ...Here are the processors that are supposed to be in the 13" MBP.
i5-6267U, i5-6287U and i7-6567U
http://ark.intel.com/compare/91167,91164,91166
They are all 28W with Iris Graphics. The two i5 models are already launched while the i7 is "announced with launch date Q3'15".
If a new rMBP comes out within a month I doubt it will be that much different. It holds well but sell it a month later ?
So Apple could release new versions except the i7 models. I hope this happens this month. Here are the processors that are supposed to be in the 13" MBP.

We all want an event in October... Those HQ chips don't have Intel Iris Pro graphics thoughHello everyone!
I've been lurking this thread for long time, and finally I've decided to sign up.
About this damn Skylake MBP, have you seen the Skylake roadmap on Wikipedia?
Am I misunderstanding or it seems like the right processors are already available?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skylake_(microarchitecture)#Mobile_processors
All the HQ were already been released, and the U are all released or announced for the Q3"15.
Also, this website suggest a possible "Apple Event" focus on Mac.

What do you think?
It was my understanding form the last Keynote that there won't be another event in 2015....We all want an event in October... Those HQ chips don't have Intel Iris Pro graphics though
Mine too ... when they announced the iPad Pro. I thought we'd see it in October alongside new MacsIt was my understanding form the last Keynote that there won't be another event in 2015....

So I guess I'll get e refurbished mid-2015 ...Well, I didn't considered this point. The 15" rMBP have the Iris Pro, that for the moment isn't even listed on the Intel site.
At this point I can see a March event with all the rMBP line updated with Skylake.
It will have no sense updating just the 13", and just for few months.
Sigh...

They had no choice, there was not quad core Broadwell otherwise they would have updated the 15" as well... and now doesn't make sense anymore to update just the 15" to broadwell for 6 months...or even less..Well, I didn't considered this point. I've just found an important fact (but I don't understand how it base its dates).
It looks like the Iris Pro has more Gigaflops than the R9 370X

So maybe Apple is really going to get rid of the dGPU with Skylake?
