Did you think the same when they removed the superdrive?
Definetly not.... but we are talking about removing a "decent" video card...he is suggesting to use an Iris instead of Iris Pro....if that is not a step down...i dunno what it is ...

When the Macbook came out last year, did we have any leaks then? I can't remember...

It could be possible that they're releasing iMacs and the "One more thing"... Wouldn't that be awesome :D

Think about the following:
- 15 rMBP with redesigned (thin) body with Skylake i7 and Iris Graphics Card (not Iris Pro): it can support one/two external monitor with ease.
For those extreme users:
- external GPU gives huge power.

If Apple really does anything with external GPU‘s then they will be integrated in a new 4K monitor.

Are you expecting an event ? There were no invitation and they usually are sent 2 weeks in advance

And they said no more event in 2015..... one would think a redesign with a new chip is worthed at least a presentation... now a silent update could bring Broadwell quad core to the 15" but don't see Skylake + redesign without a keynote.

:) personally i think they will show new products(mbps) in early 2016. Because what will they show us instead of that on a regular event? ...Together with watches2 and probably new Mac pro???

There have now been multiple Skylake Windows laptops announced and none of them have 10Gbps USB 3.1. Does this mean that faster USB isn't happening with Skylake after all? One of the announced, a Dell laptop even has Thunderbolt 3, but no mention of faster USB.

There were leaks for several months before the MB was officially released. Mark Gurman had every detail on it nailed months before release; the only thing he incorrectly predicted was its name.

Given the nature and size of the supply chain now, there is virtually no way Apple can release a completely redesigned MBP without leaks of some sort well in advance. Only spec bumps are possible.

This is what I was looking for, thanks for clearing this up. Then we're definitely seeing an update in March-ish. :)

I'd bet on the same period. Q1 2016. Even if that sounds crazy from the average release space point of view. 8,4 months in average between each MBP. March 2016 would mean one year, 12 months, which would be a record breaking?! Well, if there ain't not everything available for a new MBP yet. We're bound to wait !

why would you need iris pro when you have gtx 960m? (xps 15)

The new xps seems very competitive.

Will Skylake or Kaby Lake be a bigger leap in integrated graphics? I'm waiting on the 13" model but want to make sure I get the best graphical capability because I know GPU's are the first part to show their age.
