Whether or not a new MBP will be announced tomorrow, I think we can all agree it won't be released for sale in the next few weeks. The manufacturing rumors and shipping times just don't add up to mass production.

But I personally think the MacBookPro will be announced tomorrow. Why? The OLED touch strip. WWDC is the place where Apple dictates to third party developers what features they should be adding. If the OLED strip arrives without third-party support, it won't look good for Apple. So I think they're going to announce at WWDC and hope third parties put some cool features on the touch strip for launch Q4, October, August... whenever (but not September because iPhone is King). If we don't see an announcement tomorrow, I wouldn't expect one until October and in that case you'd have a release in January/February 2017 so developers can work on touch strip software.

Also, I read the WWDC announcement as saying the big focus of 2016 is apps. Maybe that means iOS apps on MacOS, but I don't expect the actual focus to be on Macs themselves, redesign or not. And they most certainly won't be a "one more thing."

Mmmm, looks like tomorrow we are not getting what we want. Same thing as the other keynote, watch bands... They are playing with us, can't believe how there will not be any updates. I'm not waiting a day longer than WWDC...

While what you say makes sense logically, I wouldn't take the OLED bar to mean that there will be a delay between announcement and shipping. I think an announcement at WWDC and shipping in August-September would make sense, but if we don't get it until October it should be released very shortly after announcement.

The Retina MBP was released on the day it was announced, and many third-party apps looked awful for a long time. Developers got no notice on the Force Touch trackpad, Retina on iPhone, 3D Touch, Apple Pencil, etc.

Apple don't mind releasing hardware without support from the vast, vast majority third-party apps as they know they will follow soon enough. I don't expect it to be any different with the OLED bar.

Has there ever been a time in which people are so up in the air on whether if there will be a new MacBook Pro announced tomorrow?

Is there anyone else who doesn't like the idea of the oled bar. I actually prefer the physical function buttons than a touch bar. Unless it has force touch but it doesn't look like it has the necessary hardware underneath.

It's also another point of failure for the device. I'm sure it well be really well implemented but I certainly wouldn't be rushing out to get the gen 1 product.

No, keep in mind we blew right past the previous record for longest time between refreshes for both the 13" and 15". Everything is unprecedented, no one knows anything, confusion and chaos are the flavors of the month.

We are in the MBP DARK AGES. Schiller, bring us some hope tomorrow.

Useless gimmick yes, but PRETTY COLORS!! :D

I don't mind it as long as it doesn't impede functionality. I tend to adjust the volume a lot when listening to music. Am I still going to be able to do that easily? I sure hope so...

Zero MBP buzz for Tuesday isn't exactly encouraging, yet i've seen stranger things.

So the odds are like what? 50/50?

the tradition being sunday? :p
It sounds like any reason to drink is worth it!

Yep, I'm not feeling confident either....
Sadly enough - I agree. I do think they're working on a complete upgrade to the 13/15 Pro Retina's, I just don't think they'll announce them tomorrow. I have a 13" 2015 Pro and a 12" Macbook - totally different uses. I like the two, I just hate carrying both...I was hoping to buy something new, weighs a little less, redesigned, and sell both of these so I do not have to change settings and applications on both laptops. I have also found if I go a week since opening the Macbook up - it takes forever to download all the updates to all the programs and then let me actually work. I use the pro daily for work - so it doesn't take as long.

Presuming there won't be an announcement tomorrow, then we probably have to wait until the September event - which means 94-ish days to go...

I did the countdown to feel better but now that seems like ages away. And we'll probably get to September, only to be told by Gurman that they've actually been delayed until Q3 2042, yet will still come with Skylake.

Apart from the updates thing, how do you find the machines comparing? What kind of thing would make you reach for the pro instead of the Macbook? Which do you prefer? There can't be many people who have both of those laptops.

You know Apple could tell the developers about the OLED Touch bar throughout the week of WWDC during various presentations. Then these developers can go and implement their apps and whatnot to this Magic Toolbar and we could have the 2016 MacBook Pro in our hands by September.

I've already jumped out the ship and built a tower. I'm impressed of how insane fast it goes with M.2 storage (2,2-2,5GB/s reading and 1,5-1,6GB/s writing) and the lastest Skylake i7 6700k. No more noise, no more heat with heavy work, no more RAM limits... Hell, it even works with my both sound cards that didn't work with El Capitan despite having the drivers for 10.11 OSX.
So tomorrow I'll be watching Keynote with curiosity, just in case I want to replace my MBA for one of the new MBPs, but I definitely won't desperate if they don't release it or they mess them up, I'm already half out of OSX.
