That doesn't seem very likely to me, I guess they could release an on screen simulator for dev purposes, but without hardware to test it on I'm skeptical.
I doubt it. Kaby Lake is Skylake with some minor tweaks (and integrated TB3 controller).
Honestly I could care less for Kaby Lake. I just want a new Macbook Pro...
Im almost certain nothing is coming guys unfortunately.
Is there a chance that kabylake Windows laptops are on the horizon just as Apple updates there MacBook in Q3/4? That would be a blow to Apple, I hear Kabylake has some dramatic improvements, primarily GPU?
Btw, shower time, classic shower toughts: MacBook Pros. They may privately send prototypes to major companies like e.g. Adobe, AutoDesk.
Apart from the updates thing, how do you find the machines comparing? What kind of thing would make you reach for the pro instead of the Macbook? Which do you prefer? There can't be many people who have both of those laptops.
Good luck tomorrow guys.
And good luck winning the jackpot Killawat.
My "new" mid2015 rMBP is great and I bought it right on time. I am happy
Hopefully we will have some more answers, clues tomorrow. Or, heavy tendensies to reach for the xannies and booze..
Well i did not post here 3 months ago, but I wish you all the best of luck.Just bought 10 megas for Tuesday. If I win the jackpot I will buy a 2016 rMBP for everyone who likes this post as long as your first post in this thread was atleast three months ago.
I've a feeling we are looking at a Sept/Nov announcement with Kabylake shipping in Jan 2017.
2012 rMBP redesignHas Apple ever released new macbooks during the back to school promo? It wouldn't make sense since the promo is probably designed to rid old inventory. That being said they probably won't even announce anything new tomorrow.
I've already jumped out the ship and built a tower. I'm impressed of how insane fast it goes with M.2 storage (2,2-2,5GB/s reading and 1,5-1,6GB/s writing) and the lastest Skylake i7 6700k. No more noise, no more heat with heavy work, no more RAM limits... Hell, it even works with my both sound cards that didn't work with El Capitan despite having the drivers for 10.11 OSX.
So tomorrow I'll be watching Keynote with curiosity, just in case I want to replace my MBA for one of the new MBPs, but I definitely won't desperate if they don't release it or they mess them up, I'm already half out of OSX.
Do you use Windows, Linux or Hackintosh?
Did you build a Hackintosh? If so, what are the specs, as my Ivy bridge needs replacing soon. It's still powerful but runs a bit hot and 4K video starts this weird VTPCdecoderservice which uses 300% of CPU!
The Kaby Lake Chips releasing in 2016 will not be suitable for a Macbook Pro. Intel does not just release every variant of a processor family all at once. Skylake chips started coming out last year, but suitable chips for Macbook Pro have only been available for a few weeks. It is extremely likely that the same will happen with Kaby Lake.Is there a chance that kabylake Windows laptops are on the horizon just as Apple updates there MacBook in Q3/4? That would be a blow to Apple, I hear Kabylake has some dramatic improvements, primarily GPU?
If you say my name 3 times in a mirror, I'll appear in the homes of users that ask about Kaby Lake wielding a Skylake CPU and an OLED touch bar.@cmChimera I invoke you!
The retina Macbook Pro.Has Apple ever released new macbooks during the back to school promo?
They already released updated iPad Pros (9.7" version), MacBook Airs, and MacBooks. My theory was they wanted to get these items out of the way to have room to talk about the new MacBook Pros. To not release a TB3 laptop until the 4th calendar quarter would be an unpleasant surprise. For those who say WWDC has usually been software only, I forgive you if you are less than 3 years old because major refreshes were announced during WWDC - retina MBP and Mac Pro in 2012 and 2013.
