Watch OS3 is what Watch OS1 should have been tbh. I really like the panic button though.

Still don't get the scribbling though... I can picture lots of people in Starbucks scribbling on their watches while their phone is on the table

The fact is: Apple views smartwatches as the future. Laptops are not the future; they're old hat. They're not going to be terribly enthusiastic about a hardware form that's dying out in most markets.
