At WWDC, they mentioned that macOS Sierra won't be released until Fall of this year, so don't expect any new MBPs before then.

Since there doesn't seem to be anything drastically new with the new watch/iPhone, they should have enough time on stage to release new MBPs as well (in September).

Unless they spend another 30-45 minutes going over how to use the new messages app again ;)

haha love how people are gonna wait months for another event only for Apple to troll them and talk how the iPhone 7 is the best phone they have ever made and then say just one more thing, we have a watch too.... goodnight! :D

Yeah there's no way the new MBPs will be released before macOS Sierra, especially if they have OLED bars that need Sierra to function. Fall at the earliest.

Yes, I agree with you. I would like to see MBPs in July but I think October-ish is probably a good bet. Certainly not before Sierra out.

I know people will say they could release a modified version of macOS that supports these new features (they have done it in the past) but I just don't think Apple cares enough to do something like this. Look, they released a $3000 notebook in 2015 with an outdated processor, they have not done anything to update their MBP line so far, do you really think they are going to try to get something out before Fall/Christmas?

iOS and watchOS is their main focus and R&D budget now. It could be worse, we could be MP fans. Look how long they have waited for an update. ;-)

The silver-lining to all of this may be the (initial) availability of the new MBPs when they are released in September/October.

We know that Skylake chips suitable for both MBPs are shipping and Polaris based GPUs are imminent, so Apple has enough time to deliver volumes at launch.

I don't really think they'll announce all this stuff together. Although seeing as they structure their events now as "some unimportant stuff > some less unimportant stuff > 30 minutes of emojis > one more thing being a soul-sucking crushing disappointment" they might do new Macs > Watch 2 > iPhone 7 > 30 minutes on how you can add emoticons to your messages using power of the mind > Eddy Cue performing "It's Raining Men" with U2.

The opposite!
Even considering the sadness and the delusion of being here, still waiting, this place is quite nice.
I like be here chilling and having fun with you guys.
:)
Amen, Brother!
It's good to read the banter... even if it's the same few talking points.... kinda like repetitive old geezers.... which we may very well be.

I agree--this thread is mostly just a "chill zome" for me. No one I know in "real life" cares about the new MBP, so I come here :)

It's so nice to realize that 99.999999999999999% of all people are NOT like us, because as much as I really like us, I enjoy talking to who have no idea and don't care.

I do think that the "chill zone" would be better if people stopped talking about their newly ordered XPS and Razer laptops, though.

Now its clear. The back to school event ends at September 5. Assuming the iPhone event is at September 6. They announce the mbp's the same event and shipping both 2 weeks later with new iOS and macOs! Simple!

If there are rumors that confirm this within a month I'll wait. That'll be 3 weeks after my new schoolyear starts, but oh well...
