Waiting for Skylake MBP thread

That ship sailed on Monday my friend. References for rumored hardware was found on macOS 10.12. You should not expect a release before macOS ships publicly. Those new rMBPs will ship with Sierra (there's no hardware support on 10.11).
Apple can ship the necessary support in 10.11.6, or even ship the MBP with a custom build of 10.11.5. That is actually what they normally do.
Mind telling a little about the Stealth? I'm really interested especially about battery times and just how you like it in general maybe also comparing it to a MacBook from your experience.
If it's just doing an announcement, I don't think its impossible for Apple to just to do a press release and start shipping in August. But Apple would never do that and will need to do a keynote to blap about the new features

My money is on Apple pushing the new macOS into October with a dedicated event to highlight its release along with the new MBPs.
We'll, count me out of the "Waiting for Skylake MBP" club. I was offered a deal I couldn't refuse on a 2015 MacBook. I'm sure I'll hate myself in September when Jony Ive unveils a 13" MBP, not much larger than my MacBook, editing two 4K videos on dual 4K monitors, but I'll punch myself in the face then.

I was just reading today about the surface book (for no reason at all) and realized that it can't do dual 4K monitors!
It's not "just an announcement". It's a complete redesign, a design that will be used for the next 4 years. No matter how you guys want to downplay it the truth is that nothing will be announced or shipped before Q4. Also I know that they could include support for it in 10.111.6, but the truth is that they won't. Let's just accept reality and move onto waiting till the Fall.
I would have thought that after WWDC, "forumers" would start believing more in the likes of Mark Gurman and Ming, instead of relying on emotions. At this point, if they say "Q4", it is Q4, no questions asked. They are not Serban.
P.S. It's over, let's stop pretending that they will make an unprecedented july/august event just to fit our narrative.

Very curious how large this thread will grow now that most people have giving up hope before the launch of macOS.
We've seen leaks of the new MBP and we know that the next version of Mac OS X (never macOS!) has been built with it in mind. Perhaps I am just easy to please, but that's enough for me right now. It's coming guys. I can be patient because I know that it will be worth it. Sure it's taking a lot longer than anyone expected, but I'd rather have a rock solid product later than one released with issues before it really should have been (looking at you, Microsoft).

I totally understand situations like this where you need a laptop, and you need one by a certain date, which puts you in between a rock and a hard place. That really sucks in this situation.
Yeah, I have an iPad that will have to suffice for college in the beginning. I didn't buy the keyboard for it, but I think I'm going to have to now...
Though apparently classes start pretty late at UCD (21st, I think), so maybe if it comes out before the last week of September, I might actually have it in time

I think I'll just use this iPad Pro for the first few weeks and snatch up the MBP the day it comes out. I'll be close to campus actually, so that'll be helpful (I'll be attending UCSC)
As a comp sci major, I hope we won't have any assignments that require a terminal for the first few weeks!!
You will probably have some the first week. Id recommend signing up for cloud9 IDE so you can have terminal acess on a linux VM
One big reason they're not going to release anything before September 5th is that their back-to-school promo ends then. They won't release a new product expected to sell through all available units when they're bundling free Beats as part of a promo. It'd cut into their margins unnecessarily.
