First post.. been following this thread for months but finally signed up. Extremely disappointed that Apple has nothing out yet.

It has become pretty obvious to me Apple doesn't really care much about their Mac customers anymore. Hard to blame them for the decision to sit on their thumbs with new hardware when I see posts on here of people giving in after WWDC and just getting the current MBP. That's exactly what Tim Cook wants you to do. More money for them, outdated technology at premium prices for you.

It's just a shame the Windows laptop market doesn't have a clearly superior overall product to even the current MBPs, otherwise I wouldn't give Apple a second thought anymore. I've had $3,000 ready and waiting to give them for months now and the longer they hold out on updating their products the more I want to take that money elsewhere. I know I'm not the only one, either.

Tim Cook should not be leading this company.

I have exactly the same doubt.
If Apple will use a rebrand, and considering Skylake CPUs are finally available.... what the hell are they waiting for?!
I still hope for RX 480M.
Please, Apple.
Please...

Well, the 13" won't be using any AMD GPU, and Apple has released it separately from the 15" in the past, so whatever the holdup is, it's probably not the GPU.

How long will this be going on!? Probably something major in the works, at least some rumors is speculating on the biggest update 'ever'.

DarknetGuy (an self proclaimed Apple Insider at some .Onion forum), tells Apple to have an Summer Mac Event, to introduce macOS and new Macbook Pro's (14"/16") and a new Mac Pro, plus a 5K TB3 Display (w/o integral GPU), Even Possible Apple to introduce updated iMacs and Mac Mini or "nano" .

Anticipates, Macbook Pros having only 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, OLED Command Bar having haptic feedback too, plus gestures, same for mac Mini and iMacs only 2TB3 ports plus 4 additional USB-C non thunderbolt capable ports, all USB-C ports will be enabled for Video Output, upto 32BG Ram options for MacBook Pros.

That is just such an ignorant comment. You have no idea why Apple is waiting. Could be issues with hardware, could be bugs, could be the desire for a fall release, could be a million different things. But to assume its because "they don't care about customers" or "trying to squeeze money out of outdated technology" in my opinion is the dumbest narrative on this forum.

There's still a shred of hope in me that makes me believe this.

The realistic side of my brain still says an October event is most likely.

Haven't been on this thread for a couple of weeks, and I have to admit I've missed you guys. I gave up on Apple bothering to deliver anytime soon and took a punt on a used 2015 from eBay. Wasn't comfortable with the gamble but I've been lucky, they took lovely care of it and I'm so happy with my first ever MacBook Pro.

I also had a feeling that when the 2016 comes out there could be a negative response and a rush for 2015 models. Anyone else suspect this could happen?

His argument is not anymore invalid as yours. Everyone knows Apple's primary goal is to generate profits (look no further than a 16G base iPhone and a $100 bump to add the "Pro" moniker to the iPad). The processor/graphics in today's MBPs are significantly cheaper then when the machine was initially introduced yearS ago, but price remains the same. So while we can't say for certain that's why the MBP has yet to arrive, what's available already is unacceptable.

Simply put they could have done a silent refresh to Broadwell for the 15" without so much as a hiccup in their their day to day operations a year ago. But they didn't and continue to not do so. And seeing as we're on a rumor site, the point is to speculate. He says its greed (and I agree). What's your thoughts on why the 15" never went to Broadwell?

That would be just pure disaster  But as I said earlier, after polaris 10 debut and polaris 11 is on same architecture I have real doubts that amd can fight with nvidia on mobile segment. Maybe thats ok, I will stay on my brodwell macbook pro 13 and save some money :)

Maybe they won't go with AMD. Those rumors are just that , rumors. I'm still crossing my fingers for a 1060M

I have exactly the same doubt.

RX 480M is wishful thinking. A 1060M is even more so. The high end mobile Polaris GPUs are almost certainly headed for the 2016 Retina iMac.

It's certainly possible if it's simply a refresh with not much added, and expensive.
But given the long wait, it'll likely add quite a bit in terms of new 'features'. Whether the rumoured OLED strip or slimmer form factor is worth an extra $100-200 (my guess), will be up to each individual.
Plus, many people believe in never purchasing a first generation model design. Your 2015 MBP will serve you well for many years to come.

It definitely happened with the 2014 Mac Mini refresh. 2012 Quad Core models skyrocketed in price. Not to mention the fact the 2012 was allot more user accessible thus you could add RAM and SSDs fairly easily for much cheaper than Apple. People were scrambling for 2012s after that refresh-fiasco.

I'm calling it like I see it, both as a loyal customer and and as a shareholder. I'm done giving Apple the benefit of the doubt at this point and until Apple shows me otherwise, I'll keep on with my "ignorant" views. Apple under Jobs was a company that wasn't content resting on their laurels, even when they were already at the top of the heap. They pushed the envelope further even when other manufacturers were still trying to catch up to their current products. I no longer feel that's the case.

The delay in updates for this product line (and almost all of the Mac products, honestly) is fairly unprecedented. I don't think it's unreasonable to expect Apple to give better guidance to their customers when it's been this long since an update. I'm OK with waiting if you give me something definite to plan around. I'm not OK with trying to gleam information from rumor reports for months and months just to get an idea about when something might be released. I can't even imagine what it'd feel like to be invested in something like the Mac Pro line.

For a company that pushed Thunderbolt before anyone else, I find it telling they still can't even get a single product out with Thunderbolt 3 (a truly great standard) months and months after their competitors have. I'm not going to spend thousands of dollars on a product with now-defunct TB2 and USB 3.0 ports. Spending almost as much time at the WWDC keynote on emojis as you do on the new macOS doesn't inspire confidence, either. The signals they're sending to PC users are clear to me.

Want to show me you care about me as a customer? Drop the price you're asking for outdated hardware instead of keeping it the same and hoping I don't know any better. Their silence is deafening.

Why so?
If the TDP really stay in 35W, there is a possibility.

A. Because it's Apple. They could live easily gone with for the faster 950M at the same TDP as the M370X.

B. The RX 480M wasn't even on the leaked list, meaning if you want a rMBP in 2016 then it won't have an RX 480M. In fact the lack of such cards is worrying for an iMac refresh this year.

C. Like I said, regardless of TDP, Apple is going to preserve the Polaris GPUs and their corresponding performance bracket for the Retina iMacs. The R9 M470X would fit perfectly in-line with Apple's scheme. Even if AMD announced RX M495X had a TDP of 5W the rMBP still wouldn't be getting it.

D. It's Apple.

I really hope the 2016 MacBook Pro blows me away. I've never had a Mac and the sales on the 2015 look so tantalizing. It will be nice to have one for my last year/year and a half of college.

I'd love the Air if it had a retina screen, but not having it is a deal breaker for a couple hundred price difference.

After months of following this thread as a guest viewer, I finally signed up to simply +1 the sentiments above.

Words cannot adequately describe my frustration with Apple's flagrant disregard for dedicated professional users like me who loyally supported (and often tolerated) their early professional products, then helped make them enorously successful by making their products the universal standard in our industries, and who have (me personally) in the process contributed hundreds of thousands of $$ to their bottom line over the past 3 decades.

If any other company in any other industry chose to abandon a significant portion of their longest-standing, most loyal, existing customer base (a customer base that played a major role in them become what they are today) like Apple so clearly has here, the public and financial consequences would be enormous.

The fact that Apple can be so blatantly arrogant and dismissive without consequence truly mystifies me.

Preach it brother. Manufacturers who never even bothered with TB1 and TB2 now chomping at the bit since TB3 is dirt cheap. Apple used to be the only one (with rare exception) now they're the only one who havent shown up.

And the late 2015 iMac should've had TB3 on it too.

I can't help but laugh at people whining that they don't have thunderbolt 3 in their Mac yet, when they don't have a single accessory to make use of it anyway.

If they discontinued the quad core MBP then yes, but I think that is extremely unlikely. The Mac Mini has never been a strategic product for Apple.
