Yes, that's exactly what the problem is.what "STRAIN" are you talking about. barely feels like your hitting a key. does typing on a glass screen cause you strain too?

Maybe you're right, we all buy them and maybe we all forget how angry we are.I get all of the anger and frustration at Apple. Seriously I'm right there with you guys. But it's funny that the day they release these forsaken laptops, and we all buy them, we will forget about how angry we were and go on our merry ways.
Hoping the window laptop scene can make more improvements. Surface book and xps have made some great progress.
Maybe you're right, we all buy them and maybe we all forget how angry we are.
Maybe instead, I end up buying a gaming laptop and lugging around an extra pound & a charger in my bag - boo freakin' hoo, talk about first world problems.
Then I've broken out of the "ecosystem," so maybe I will try an android phone. I'd start with my work phone, and make sure that it was acceptable, but then I can go over to android for my personal phone.
Of course, that means I need a new watch, since I have the Apple Watch. No big deal, I've saved $1350, I can spend $300 and get a customized Moto. They aren't as nice, but they're ok.
Then I can get rid of my ATV4 and replace it with a Roku, since the Roku is better anyway, but now I don't have to keep Apple stuff to access my purchased stuff, I'll just use my Amazon Prime Video, which works with Roku but doesn't work with ATV. Apple insists on charging Amazon more than Amazon wants to pay, and so Apple cuts off its customers from a perfectly viable way of getting entertainment.
Heck, I have four AirPort Express units and an AirPort Time Capsule for my wireless. Maybe as those die, I can get something MUCH cheaper that works just fine.
Oh, darn, when my computer dies a few years later... (4+?) tell me again why I would go for an Apple rMBP? It'll always be outdated. It'll always be expensive. And Apple will always use underpowered graphics processors, despite the fact that, in total, the US market spends more on video games than Hollywood's movies.
I think I've just talked myself out of waiting any longer. ibuypower.com has a "one per customer" sale on a clunky, overlarge, MSI 15.6" laptop with Skylake, GTX970M, SSD for $1149. That's less than half what I have saved for a damn rMBP, and except for battery life it'll be way better than whatever crap Apple releases for $2500.
For $1000+, I think I can live with the extra pound and power adapter in my bag.
Sure.... that's what they all say. Then Apple releases X product and everything is fine again. The fact that you felt the need to express your frustration demonstrate that you, in some way or another, are still "hooked" to Apple. There are countless posts like ours.Maybe you're right, we all buy them and maybe we all forget how angry we are.

A week sounds about right. That's still a short amount of time in my opinion. It'd taken me close to a month in the past to get used to bad keyboards.Agreed. Probably took about a week before it really felt comfortable.
With all due respect, removal of headphone jack + all non-USB-C/Thunderbolt ports + rMB keyboard = me no longer wanting any Apple products for at least a few years (until both wireless headphones and USB-C technologies mature and it is actually possible to buy compatible products without either compromising quality/charge time or needing to eBay a kidney first). Am I hooked on Apple? Less and less. iPhone turned into Android phone; iPad became a Sony Xperia tablet; iMac is now a Hackintosh.Sure.... that's what they all say. Then Apple releases X product and everything is fine again. The fact that you felt the need to express your frustration demonstrate that you, in some way or another, are still "hooked" to Apple. No. No "but still." Let's frame your post and replace processors with cars:
Its funny they will release the 2018 Ford Fiesta soon and we still have to wait months for the 2016 Mustang. Yes I know they are different cars but still.

It's like when someone runs over a frog with a car and the organs all pop out: the inevitable conclusion to an unending quest to become thinner and lighter.
Still hoping for a summer release. Although it doesn't make any sense.http://www.thebitbag.com/macbook-pr...current-version-receives-the-price-cut/160108
well slow news day I suppose this is worth a post

Apple may gift an Apple Pencil to its MacBook Pro buyers. In addition to these, the device will carry a detachable keyboard, touchscreen and Apple Pencil with its two models. The new Force Touch trackpad is the another expected feature. Apple will send a selfie stick along with MacBook Pro which will be called as “MacBook Selfie Stick”.
They are smoking the ad money generated every time a fool lands on their page. Not only that:
Not sure what they're smoking over there.

How do I get to see that? Coupon or something? What I see at the front page for $1099.00:
- Windows 10 Home
- $100 rebate (already counted on the final price from $1199.00)
- 15.6 1080p screen
- i7-6700HQ
- GTX 960M 4GB
- 8GB DDR4-2133
- 1TB mechanical Hard Drive.
I was just curious, but jesus I can't... the experience only shopping for that laptop, is just, no. Edgy colors, everything black and red, 'bad ass' lines, icons, stamps, logos, the upgrades selection options are noisy and it's hard to see what's the best for your laptop. "Optiboost", the hell... bloatware incoming.
Overall of what I think I know:
- Screen resolution is not good. Even the 17" ones are also 1080p.
- 8GB of RAM is not enough, at least for me. You can upgrade though.
- Mechanical hard drive (main) is a big no. This is going to be the biggest performance bottleneck and what should be upgraded from the get-go.
- Video card is good.
- No idea what's the actual battery life of this bulky beast.
Am I being biased and Apple-blinded?
If somebody wants to chime in, would like to hear a some elses opinion.

This is the crux of it right here, thank you. Apple's walled garden only thrives when there's no cracks in the fence. Like you said, take one thing away and it becomes easier and easier to justify leaving entirely. Apple is a giant company with incredible engineering and financial resources, perhaps more than any company on the planet right now. There's no excuse to willingly neglect an entire product line like this and risk people moving out of the ecosystem. The beauty of "it just works" is what made them great, it's not enough to have 1 or 2 great products while your others sit by the wayside.Maybe you're right, we all buy them and maybe we all forget how angry we are.

It's future-proofing. Apple thought that idea was important too when they put TB1 in their products months (even years in some cases) before anything useful was released for it. Most of us coughing up $2,000+ on this laptop (or iMac, Mac Pro, etc) will want it to last for several years and being saddled with TB2/USB 3.0 ports in 2016 when everyone is moving on already goes against that goal.I can't help but laugh at people whining that they don't have thunderbolt 3 in their Mac yet, when they don't have a single accessory to make use of it anyway.
I disagree, a lot more people would consider buying the current model if the price was dropped (even I would if it was a good discount). I've seen lots of people in this thread finally give into the current model with the limited sales that Best Buy and others run when they otherwise wouldn't have paid the price Apple is asking. The calls for a price reduction of the current models is not realistic. Suppose Apple cut the price $300 across the board for these older "new" Macbook Pros? Most would say that's reasonable and a good move. And yet, they would still not buy one. Then the new ones are released. Guess what, they are now $400 more than the last model. The screams would be so loud you'd go deaf. Apple has to ride out the pricing as it is so the new ones won't cause sticker shock.
B&H, Best Buy, etc have been running discounts on and off for the current MBPs since early this year so it's not really much of a sign, unfortunately.http://www.thebitbag.com/macbook-pr...current-version-receives-the-price-cut/160108

Consumers aren't blind to the idea of seeing higher prices on a brand new model of something, either. We encounter this all the time in other industries. When the customer walks into an Apple store and sees a different looking laptop than what was in there a week ago, but it's a higher price than the old one it replaced, they aren't going scream and yell, they're going to understand that it's a new product and the old price doesn't need to necessarily apply if it's a noted improvement on the product before. I think your point would be more apt if Apple had dropped the price then increased it when all that changed was an internal spec refresh and not a total redesign like we're expecting now.
