Allot of people ask about kaby lake. People respond with so much hate. Just sick of adults behaving like a 12 year old spoild child - just because they sit a behind a computer screen.

Probably you are not following this thread for long enough... This thread is about skylake, and people are just tired of people like you asking about kaby lake, and a lot of them are just trolls, and I'm not saying you are a troll, but the more you talk about it, the more you sound like one. So, if you don't want to get banned like others, you better stop now.

Lol, good reply.

Hey, really, I want a new laptop just as bad as the next guy, my aging 2008 MBP is barely hanging in there and like a lot guys I've been waiting semi-patiently for a long, long time. But seriously, the Skylake chip sounded pretty cool many months ago, but by the end of this year, when the 'new' tech comes out for the Christmas sales, will it really be that cool anymore?
There won't be new chips that would be suitable for a Macbook Pro by December. Trust us, we've done the research.

I totaly agree with you. There is no one in here that has proof apple hasnt got a deal with Intel so they could get the new kaby lake chips earlier.
We don't need to prove that Apple doesn't have early access. If you're going to make the claim that Apple will get the chips early, you need to provide proof. Otherwise, it's just baseless speculation or wishful thinking.

In regard of the bashing one gets in here if one ask about kaby lake, dont care about it. Its only old men that are wanking in their mothers basement. Its just awkward being a dick online. Most of you are polite as hell in real life, but once you get online you are "tough" and rude. Grow up, get a job and be normal.
Absolutely no one is bashing anyone. Heed your own advice.

We half-jokingly reply with annoyance. It's because it comes up All. The. Time. But no one has responded with hate.

Just cause I'm bored, how many here would actually become angry if the next MBP still had 16gb ram max? Because I'm finding myself limited with 16 on Linux, and mac is far more memory-hungry as an OS, and I use different applications that also tend to use more memory. (Office, Adobe and so on)

I would. I've had 8GB for a while, and I've used a 16GB machine that seemed enough for my usage, but I want to future proof.

Are we still thinking a Sep or Oct release? Seems we haven't seen any updates for a few weeks . . .

Tim Cook was busy sitting in the cockpit of the new Apple car prototype, making engine noises with his mouth, when his CFO interrupted him. "So..um... Tim, where are we with the Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, Mac Mini, iMac, and Mac Pro?"

Tim turns white and says "You mean YOU haven't been taking care of it? You didn't get the memo I sent 2 years ago???"

What's everyone's guess for the baseline prices for the rMBP 2016 13 in and 15 in? I've never looked at launch prices for them before so I want to get a good ballpark estimate for how much money to put aside.

I guess this leads to another question of how long will the 13 in vs. 15 in last historically assuming no hardware failure? (A.K.A, work fine without large slowdown) 4 years 13 in? 6 years 15 in? As stated above trying to determine which size to make the investment in.

Can't imagine them being the same. Think we're due a hike, unless they drop the price of the regular Macbook.

This thread never ceases to amaze me.
I love it.

Are you drunk?

Maybe not Dydegu, but I am.

Probably you are not following this thread for long enough...

By "long enough", do you mean "the last ten pages"?
:D

Do you know that the burden of proof is yours, right?
Especially for something that is not really that common, like earlier access to CPU.

We are not bashing anyone, just mocking someone who hasn't the patience of understanding something we are repeating since four months.
And seems to me that not only you are the one being tough and rude, but you're even trolling, consciously or not.
I suggest you stop acting that way. Anyway I'll continue having fun and posting kittens, and getting drunk sometime.

Well, keep in mind that the rMB starts at 256 GB and the RMBP starts at 128. So they could technically keep prices the same but axe the 128 model, and it would be a "hike" in a way.

I'm going to be ever the optimist though and say that they'll keep the price the same and start at 256. Either way I don't think 128 will be sticking around.

It would bother me a lot - I'd rather have the option for 32gb ram than space grey, OLED, USB-C etc. I constantly feel like 16gb is not enough. It's actually impeding my ability to write this post right now (as I'm rending in the background)/

I have 8GB now, so I'm perfectly happy with 16GB.

Photoshop is a real memory hog, and editing photos is something I plan on doing a lot with this Mac, so I wouldn't be angry, but I'd be disappointed--I have kind of decided now that if 32 GB is offered, I will get it.

<total useless speculation due to boredom>
What if Apple has leveraged access to the iPhone modem chip (latest stories say Intel will get a big chunk of this), and in exchange intel provides early access to //insert 'that which shall not be named here'//?
</total useless speculation due to boredom>

So 50% of iPhone customers get a slower intel modem, and in exchange, macbook pro users get access to a faster '%&^$-Lake' processor? sure, why not.

Apple is rumored to use Intel's XMM 7360 LTE modem [PDF] with faster theoretical download speeds up to 450 Mbps and upload speeds up to 100 Mbps. Meanwhile, Qualcomm's X12 modem is a likely candidate for the iPhone 7, with theoretical download speeds up to 600 Mbps and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps.

They could start the 13" at $1599 and the 15" at $2299 and most of us (including myself) would probably still buy it.
I would if it was the middle of the road model I am not getting cheapest one anyway. However if it was the base I wouldn't get it and also QUIT giving Timmy any ideas.

The truth is this thread is NO LONGER about SkyLake it has evolved into WHEN are they going to give us an up to date MBP and the ridiculous wait time. Sure a big chunk of it is because of Intel but also a part of it is pure marketing on Apples part.

Just checked with Tim, he said probably Sept 9th. :p

Actually the past 2 years, there's been an event on Sept 9th. Both times to unveil new iPhones.
But last year they added the AppleTV and iPad Pro/Pencil.
Maybe this year it'll be iPhone 7's along with new MBP's.

Actually, given that this thread is now over 777 pages and 19400 posts long, I'd say it has been a remarkably civilized forum to participate in. The occasional ban, argument, troll, etc., but for the most part it's been good, harmless fun.

So, what are the odds this thread gets past 1k pages before the release??

Probably will.

Pages are going slower these days due to the lack of new rumours. But I believe closer to release we will see more rumors and more activity.

But man these Mac's can't really come soon enough... I really hope for a September launch.
