Any news today guys ok bye.

Concerning an announcement at the September event, how bad is it that we have only seen that one case leak so far?
Are there usually a lot of leaks one or two months prior to their release? Or do the new machines just pop up?

Unlike the iPhone, there's really not much in terms of rumors. The MacBook had a fair share of rumors, but other then that, prior updates were kept close to the vest - if memory serves me.

I was in an apple store this week waiting for my appointment and this maybe 25-30 year old was buying a 15" mac and had the free headphones out for him. Anybody else feel the urge to tell people that are buying a new mac to wait a month for the new one? I felt bad for him but didn't say anything.

Maybe he needed one now, and the new one may be longer than a month (in terms of getting one in your hands).

Well, when the Macbook was released at the March event last year Mark Gurman had had a full article giving details of the port(s), Keyboard, screen size etc two months before hand. He had the last rmbp form factor update about a month before they announced it at WWDC.

Would be expecting something soon if its coming at the September event.

this is weird, the latest Best Buy Canada flyer had no..and I mean no MacBooks advertised at all (even at regular price). What's really bad is this is the start of back to school shopping season.

something along the lines of him replacing his "still working" 2010 or 2011 15" from what I overheard. I still feel like there should be a warning to people that don't follow tech news.

Unwrapped? Probably. Wrapped? Definitely.
Just say you heard there's a new model coming out, don't bother coming up with some story.

Unless I'm mistaken Apple has a no questions asked 14 day return policy. You can buy online and return in store (in store is the only way to return macbook you can't mail them back). If you're not planning on keeping it if the new mbp isn't released then I'm not sure I get the point because according to the BTS you have to return the headphones as well or they are deducted from the price.

Thanks. I'll be returning both the MBP and headphones if they don't have anything released within 10 days. Though I'm worried the temptation would be too great to open it up. Nah, not really. If anything, it'll piss me off the entire time that I have a box with a processor in it that was released before my son was born!

Man, this guy already destroyed my hopes for a WWDC release. :( I hope he has some incredible leaks in the pipeline.

And if the Vaio dies, will she continue to live off the iPad only? Chances are she'd still look to purchase a new PC. As wishful as it maybe for Cook and Co, the iPad is NOT a PC replacement. It's no more a PC replacement as a bicycle is a car replacement.

Honestly, I don't even get why Cook tries so hard to market the iPad as a computer replacement. Shouldn't they rather focus on making us want to get both - a MacBook and an iPad? But that, of course, would actually require constant updates - which we all know... ahh, don't make me type it.

To be honest guys, I really do think they will move the macs to the same chips the Ipad Pro uses now. Makes sense after thinking about it really...

1) They want thin & lite...and less ports.
2) Battery life
3) sell accessories
4) they can release a model every year.

Also, the mac app store is dead in the water. The apps are overpriced, not maintained (lot of apps not updated for long time..if ever). On the other hand the iOS app store is booming and is a money maker for apple and developers.

I will not be shocked if they only keep their iMacs, Mac Pro, as well as one high end 13 inch and their 15 inch rMBP on an intel chip and move the rest to the same chip the Ipad Pro is one.

They aren't crazy enough to make the same mistake they did in the past, and create a closed platform. If that happens, the most developers that i know of, will simply quit the mac platform altogether.

Ok, I'm bored. Here's a theory to kick around.

Big revamp of MacBook Pro for Apple's 40th anniversary. Sorta-on-purpose use the Intel delays as excuse to delay the introduction of the revamp in order to create pending demand for it once it is released. Then claim "the most popular MacBook Pro evah!" when it breaks sales records.

This doesn't even make sense. You're saying Apple is going to release an iPad Pro with a keyboard permanently attached. Does that sound like a sensible plan to you?

They can't use arm on mac because software supports only x86 and migrating Mac OS and relevant software to arm will be an epic undertaking.

It can't just happen overnight. Besides there are no arm chips with same performance as i5 and i7.

Of course it wouldn't happen overnight, no one says it would. And the performance problem could be solved by using massively parallel processing with tons of cores.
