Delayed again? What? According to our own expectations?

Technically - yes. As well as this entire threads, this entire forums, every tech reviewer/journalist, majority of consumers. I remember last year december "Wait wait it will be updated real soon!" .. "Wait for March" "Wait for June" "Wait for September". And now "Wait for October!"

What if they had always planned on October knowing everything that we do not?

I recently dropped my 2012 rMBP so this update cannot come soon enough. I went over to the dark side today and purchased a Dell XPS 13 from costco (i7, 16gb ram, 512 SSD) for ~$1500 including tax. I plan on taking full advantage of the generous 90-day return policy and pray that a 15" rMBP will be available by then.

Not gonna lie, the fit-n-finish of this computer is pretty impressive. Screen is absolutely gorgeous, and I actually like the touchscreen capability more than I thought I would. C'mon apple get it together!

the new mac software is usually october, not september.

2 of the last 5 counts as 'usually'?

Lion - July
Mountain Lion - July
Mavericks - October
Yosemite - October
El Capitan - September

I mean it's not "delayed" if it's coming out according to plan, despite what you or everyone else wanted earlier.

Yes, and the 'plan' sucks.

Overclocked by 5% lol and it gives us information: just don't hope for power efficient beast
Overclocked by 33% by wattage. 100w instead of 75w, and only 5% performance gain. This isn't telling us anything, stop being hysterical.

Video of Mark Gurman talking about the new MBP..

Won't Sierra be ready for release as the same time as iOS 10, which should be at the iPhone unveiling?

Mark Gurman simply retells what have been published? He tells about addition QA before release because of more complex product than iPhone. Sooo.... yes.. but QA has been stated since Q1 2016.
As I understand he didn't see any of those goods.

Sierra should be released soon. We are on beta 5 now and we expect beta 7 and GM (historically?). So lets count .. every 10-11 days they release developer's beta. Means 25-30+ days to wait. Event will be as well in 30+ days

26 days till September 7. One more thing....

RX 480M would be amazing in the 15" rMBP. Plus TDP is 5-10W less than the M370X.

I wonder what the Polaris 10-based mobile GPU is. RX 490M? I'd be very pleasantly surprised if Apple happens to put that in the 15"... that is, if TDP allows for it.

its all nice but get ready for issues , as someone who visited the dark side for a while , its a really awful experience not having one company making the software+hardware , every windows update , every driver update ... issues , issues as far as the eye can see ..

Seriously? Where did you find this?

Anyone who really needs a new MacBook in September (like I do), and is eligible to order from Apple's education store, you should order one by September 5 to get the free headphones - which you can resell if they don't release the new Pro on the event on the 7th. And in case they announce anything, you have a 14 days return policy.

It just seems unlikely they will do a 'one more thing' to announce the rMBP refresh during the iPhone event bc they truly have to update the entire mac lineup for holiday. I bet we are looking at a BTTM event in Oct.

Well, but what's gonna be the new lineup? They have the 12" MacBook, they will release a 13" and 15" Pro and I think that's it. Maybe a 14" MacBook at some point, but nothing new. For everything else there's the iPad.

EDIT: Oh, I just noticed that you wrote Mac lineup, not MacBook :) However, we didn't see a single iMac leak yet, so I don't think they are ready sometime soon.

So if they do release in a week after the event and you have the old macbook already coming to you they will make you return the headphones when you return the laptop no? pretty sure

They don't really, the 12 inch Macbook is running Skylake, so is the 27 inch 5k iMac theres isn't much they can do with either of those machines. I don't think there is a Skylake variant of the chip used in the 21 inch iMac so not much can be done with that, the Macbook Air is dead so that just leaves the Mac Pro, the Macbook Pro and the Mini. Can't see the Mini getting much love either if i'm honest.

My little expectations :

- 14 " in the actual 13 " footprint or 13 " with smaller size
- Thinner and lighter
- Kabylake (4 core in the 13 " but i'm dreaming ;) with new Intel graphic card (or even better : the polaris in the 13 " but i 'm dreaming again)
- 16 gb for the Ram
- 512 go for the SSD
- Bigger trackpad with full support for the Apple pencil
- 4 usb c port
- (just for the hype : space grey or even better a dark black ;)
- A RELEASE IN OCTOBER AND AVAILABLE IN OCTOBER WITH STOCK !!!!)
- not overprice --- > apple ----> ok again and again i'm dreaming

and :

A new 5k external monitor 27 " :
- with smaller bezel
- Usb c port for plug the newMacbook pro
- RJ45 + 2 usb A + 2 usb C (or 4 usb c)
- With a dedicated (and not mobile ) Graphic card in it, and you can change it by yourself !!!!!

Of course you have to return the headphones as well when you return the MacBook.
But if you can't wait any longer and you would get a MacBook in September (for school or anything) anyway - regardless of whether they announce the Pro or not - you're better off ordering the old MacBook by the 5th instead of waiting until after the event, because only then you'd get a pair of $300 headphones for free.

I feel like if you've waited till the first week of September it would be hard to just give in and buy old tech. When you're that close.

Yep, probably Polaris 10 mobile will be RX 490M, but from what I've read so far (still not so much, honestly), I won't bet on it...
More probably, the RX 480M will be the 15" GPU, even if I still have doubts about its TDP

Go back and read Serban's posts. He never said anything concrete that hadn't already been reported elsewhere. And even then he couched things, saying he'd seen three versions and didn't know which was going to be released. He was no more "right" than you and me.

You're telling me you don't believe in our Lord and Savior The Serban?!
