I've been tempted by the xps 15 recently, so for the past week i installed windows through bootcamp to try it out. I tried so hard to like Windows but it just didnt work out. Now i'm just gonna wait for the next macbook pro to release lol

What's wrong?

What is everyone doing once the new MBP is here?
Start a new thread for the next generation? Keep this thread alive because it's like hanging out with close friends?

We're like one big group of friends, I feel like we should have an event in real life to show each other our brand new MacBook Pro's! Just think about it, all the people in this thread gathered in one location in the world for a big 'The MBP is released' party. Even Serban can come!

I could see rMBP and maybe Mac Pro getting stage time with silent updates to the mini and a bump for the iMac. Wait... wasn't the MacBook silently updated without an event when they revamped it?
Yah, but it wasn't a redesign
[doublepost=1470988891][/doublepost]Does anyone have a recommendation for a screen cleaner for MBPs and/or a casing cleaner for MBPs? Right now I just use a dab of water on a paper towel to clean the body of my MBP and a cloth to clean my screen. Looking for a better solution. I want it to be shiny again and I want my new Mac to stay shiny.

I'm wondering if the new MBP will have a disc drive or not. (Actually, did the 2015 MBP have one...?) I still buy CD's and blu-rays myself (and live in Japan where they're still going strong!) so it'd be nice to dump them all onto it as I see a laptop as a vacuum of multimedia ****. Then again I see how physical media like CDs are being phased out now so maybe it's just me who wants the 2016 MBP to have a disc drive.

2012 on mbp lost its drive. Just wirelessly transfer the library's from one device to another.

Are you on the island where WW2 is still going on?

To all you guys trying to buy insurance against innovation :)
What do they mean "future proof"? Does it 'magically' install better hardware inside of itself, when updates become available?

Id imagine this would be different for everybody. Future proof to me is making it to my next laptop purchase without hardware/software limitations with everything i throw at it. I buy a computer once every 5 years or so.

Not sure if this has been posted:

Interesting. I definitely expected them to be announced at the September event, even if they’re not available for sale until late October or early November. That’s what Apple did with the iPad Pro last year. If they’re not announced at the September 7 event, when will they be announced? They could do a smaller event in October, but I was told last year that Apple no longer wanted to do that.

If Apple is truly putting a lot of resources behind the "Magic Touch Bar" and if it's going to have significant integration in Sierra, the Magic Keyboard 2 should be released as well. It'd be an easy way to offer those features and Touch ID to every Mac. That turns it from a "gimmick" to a deeply embedded feature.

I think the October event is viable given some iMac updates. USB-C/TB3 and maybe some color options? It's been four years since a form factor change. You wouldn't even need any more products to make an event; they could always fill more time with some fluff. Love for any of the other aging Mac products would just be a bonus.

So MBP + iMac + Sierra in October. Then they hit us with a 2015 13" MBP price drop for the entry level pro model, a 13" MBA price drop for the entry level consumer model, and discontinue the 11" MBA and 2015 15" MBP.

iMac got Skylake already, and I don't see a form factor change with no internal improvements. There's no rumors about a redesign for iMac, while we've had chassis and hinge rumors plus Kuo's 'biggest update ever' comment since May.

And Sierra was announced at WWDC. There isn't enough new Sierra stuff to justify an October event with MBP alone.

When the new MacBook Pro comes out, how many of you guys are going to buy AppleCare? Is it worth it?

Definitely worth it, especially if you want to resell it 2 years down the road. The resale value is considerably better when there's a year left on the warranty.
