Siri told me I will be able to see her on the OLED bar.
You just have to know what to ask her ;)

Regarding the September 30th date:

This date seems late for iOS 10. With an expected iPhone 7 launch of September 16, iOS 10 should be available before then — probably on the 14th. It would be very odd for iOS 10 not to be released until the last day in September.

The likely scenario is that Streisand’s retelling is inaccurate, perhaps Cook told her by the end of the month or maybe its not the literal next update, as in iOS 10.0, but a forthcoming update coming soon. It wouldn’t be out of character for an iOS 10.0.1 bug fix update to come on September 30, two weeks after the debut of Apple’s next major operating system.

You do realize that Microsoft is only a little more honest about what they do then Apple and Google right? As all 3 do the same ********. If you want an OS that doesn't track you, install Linux
I genuinely have no idea what this reply means. Did you mean to say, "little more _dis_honest"? I am not feigning bafflement.

I agree that Apple receives data from the user, but:
1) They allow you to opt out (Microsoft do NOT: see the myriad threads about hard-coded IP addresses in Win10)
2) TTBOMK it's clear when and why it happens (by no means true with Win10)
3) Apple's dedication to user privacy actually actively harms their product development and effectiveness (eg. Siri), and raises complaints from users and even devs—show me where this is true with Microsoft.

I also don't see Apple being reprimanded by the EFF or sued by users, nor see Microsoft implementing differential privacy.

Well I ordered my 2.2 256GB 2015 rMBP, pickup tomorrow... couldn't wait saved a $1,000 will get it 2 months ahead of time, and will get a 2ND GEN of THIS 2016 BEAST when it hits in 2017-2018!, I see problems with this one, good luck boys! ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST!

EDIT:
One of my main deciding factors is, if I waited till October for the 2016 to get shipped to me, by the time I set things up we're looking at October 15th all ready to work with it, and by Oct 15th next thing you know it's Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas. These last 2-3 months of the year go by so freakin fast, I have to work (and work with this rMBP). I aint got 2 months to just piss away...I already did that for 2 months on these forums since one month before WWDC! so yeah, pulled the trigger a little late, but I'll be happier with my 2nd Gen...such is the life of some of OUR MACS... you know this...tho...

I just did the same
ok, you got the link...

I just wanted to say tho, now this is a little crazy, but I keep burning about this:

Open Box, from Best Buy for the 2015 rMBP, 2.2 with 16GB 256GB, no-dGPU. $1,672 comes out to ~ $1,800 (tax).

The no-dGPU is a slight bonus because no gaming for me, per se, but no possibility of crashing because of on the fly switching.

But I get MAG-SAFE (yea!) which I love, 2 USB (old school), and a thunderbolt port (TB2). The 2016 rMBP with tax is going to be around $2,800, for dGPU/512

I would save a flat $1,000, plus I can get a slick case for it from Amazon from whomever.

Just burns...but $1G is NICE! I can use this for 2 years then get Kaby Lake, with OLED tested for 1 Generation...along with TB3 tested for 1 Generation too... ARRGH

EDIT:
p.s. oh and I forgot to mention, non-solder PCIe SSD I can swap out!

I just did the same arrhythmic and ended up buying an open box too. I got the discreet graphics version for ~$2075. I ended up deciding that if I get a top-of-the-line machine than I'd rather wait for the first update anyways. But I do still feel somewhat queasy knowing that I'm buying just before the refresh. If I upgrade in a year I'll take a hit, but I'll take a bigger hit by not having a solid machine between now and whenever the new ones arrive—and we really don't know exactly when that will be!!

Anyways, my dream machine will have 32GB of RAM. I can't imagine what Apple's going to charge for that upgrade the first year 32GB becomes available.

Mag-Safe, forever.

So, three-ish days until we're likely to see an invite for the September event. Either we get an announcement then plus a long wait until October release, or we get an second event in October (which, let's be honest, would be better because that means more products are coming than iPhone 6.3, Apple Watch 2 and MacBook Pro 2016).

So, before we start "event season," what are some dead giveaways Apple could put on the invite to tell us the new MacBook Pro is coming? I'd say any mention of Siri would be a major clue, or anything with 'Pro' on the invite.

Any predictions?

you should have bought a 2011/2012 15" mbp then.
32gb ram and two ssd's in RAID0, what else do you need?

In regards to the Siri update, you guys do know that something of that nature is probably a server side update and not an on device one? Just like how they can make Siri suddenly talk about wwdc or Pokemon go without an iOS update the can do the same with a punctuation update. The next server update that they could introduce this fix is probably just that date.

More than prediction: our beloved Serban was able to send me one (of the three prototypes) of the invites for the 17th september event.
I honestly didn't expect it.
Enjoy.
