Maybe in wardrobe but certainly not computer knowledge. Gates was quite the programmer back in the day.
And a very generous individual with the philanthropic work he's doing today.

You just took this bit out of context, didn't you. I really hate when people do that. Yes, Cook is nowhere near Gates in terms of software knowledge. I don't even know if Cook knows how to code?
But where did I say he did? Stop jumping to assumptions.
When I said that Cook reminds of Gates, I meant the way they both spearhead their respective companies, they want monopoly by offering uninspired products - something that pleases the masses - which Jobs never did. I thought I made that pretty clear in the previous sentences that you DID NOT quote.

I have been having the same recurring nightmare where nothing on my macbook pro is working at all. I wake up in real life and my track pad is still bad (like it's been since the last replacement of the trackpad by apple). Then I get really excited and think I can't wait for apple to release the new macbook pros and with 1tb standard for all their ssd's. My applecare expires on December 16th, 2016. I hope they will release them before then, I am ready for a replacement already (have had 4-6 repairs on this laptop already) (1st repair for the ssd.. it got fried, 2nd for a battery replacement..it was dying really quickly, 3rd for a few keys on the keyboard not working, 4th for the trackpad not working, 5th the auxilary input was misaligned after the last repair for some reason, 6th trackpad acting up again... I don't think they did anything with it this time...problem still occurs the same. I want 2tb ssd this time around even if I have to pay a premium. I wonder if they'll offer 2tb, I mean Samsung has 4tb ssd (which I know is 2.5" drive though).

The article mentions Mac Pro. Has there been a single leak/rumor (not speculation) about a new Mac Pro? No.

The rest of the line includes MacBook and iMac, both of which were recently updated. All that leaves is the MacBook Air and Pro: hardly enough for a "Back to Mac" event.

I'm 50/50 on September event or October press announcement, but if you've got your hopes up for a major Mac event you're going to be disappointed.

To be fair we've only seen like 2 for the rMBP. If we've only seen that little for a macbook, I seriously doubt any leaks for a Mac Pro would surface so it could happen

Thanks for the kick in the throat, it's much appreciated.

There's no chance of a Mac Pro leak. Its production volume is virtually insignificant.

@fastasleep I don't think you really understand where I was going with this. Cook is greedy in terms of Apple sales, too greedy. He wants to squeeze out every cent from their products, something we never saw in Jobs era. For example by still retaining the old old MacBook Pro with the HDD and a CD Drive, that is the kind of greed I'm talking about.

I'm not calling Cook greedy in real life, I'm just saying his business oriented decisions are greedy, which is fine to a certain extent, but Apple (Cook) seems to be pushing that boundary a lot nowadays with their product offerings.

What makes you so sure that's not say, Schiller?

A new iPhone gets a dedicated event, but a new Mac Pro, MacBook, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac Mini is "hardly enough" for a dedicated event. Seems legit

Apple only understands one thing these days $$$$ the Mac and it`s users have been off the radar for years, hence

I'm sure that 12% will easily be ~18% once the new MBPs are released. It seems like everyone is waiting to upgrade.

I can't imagine that huge of a bump, especially with a new iPhone/Apple Watch in the pipe as well. I honestly don't believe the iPad should be that high, tablets are consumption devices and finding a place in most workflows for one is typically an exercise beyond it's intended value..

I am repeating my question. Why is it a bad idea to have high end macbook pro with freesync monitor @144hz (most probably it will contain amd gpu).

I play only one game i.e. dota 2 and most of the things are related to my work on mac.
I can't shift to windows just to play this one game.

Also, how about getting iMac. Will it support monitor @144hz connected via minidisplayport.

I also play only 1 game, it is Dota. And for this purpose I have my PC, for other purposes I am going to buy MacBook,as soon as they come out.

you should ask this question in the gaming section of the forum. here you are kind of off topic (not that there's ever been a topic in the last 600 pages), and that's why you only receive lame trolling answers.
i am no gamer, sorry i can't help you.

No Macs at this event. Their Beats promo ends on the 5th. The return window is what? 2 weeks? Last thing they want is to have to take back a ton of old opened hardware plus Beats that have been on people heads, because they announced new macs right after a promo ends.

Macs will be October.

You do know that the iPhone 6s is also eligible to get free Beats headphones?
And there will certainly be new iPhones on the 7th, so your statement doesn't make any sense.
