I think tomorrow is the first event his year where Apple considered announcing the MBP. That's what makes tomorrow so hard to give up all hopes and expectations.

If we don't get an unveiling tomorrow, we all have a reason to be upset this time. I admit in the past I was foolishly hopeful, but it wasn't completely without reason.

If it's unveiled tomorrow, part of me feels it would seem a bit out of place. At the same time, they've shown that image of every product before and have moved between product categories. It's also clear they still care about the Mac because of macOS Sierra. They wouldn't rebrand the OS and introduce Siri if they weren't invested.

But October is only a month away. So do what you will, Apple. Nothing is more exciting than having the actual product but it'd be nice to see that this product is big for them. Don't release it via press release. That'll just feed the rumors that the Touch Bar is gimmicky. Show it to us on stage. Show us the innovation that's been put into it. Give us a design video. Make it clear that it was worth the wait.

they need round edges on macs. no more sharp bends
I prefer sharper edges, I think it gives a more modern aesthetic to it. Round edges conjure up images of cellphones and other computers from like 2001-2008, with the bigger bezels and soft round edges.

One thing is you're right, there are only two outcomes in this really. Either they announce tomorrow or have an October event,l these are the two possibilities. Because we HAVE SEEN that MacBook with the OLED BAR, and if we know anything about our Apple Rumor Past, we know if we get "PROOF" of a new Mac, such as those with New Case/Frame images with the 4 Ports, that's pretty "Apple Rumor Worthy" as far as being what's coming up. So, yeah it's either tomorrow or an October event. There's no other outcome in my mind...

All the problem with dGpus is cause AMD sucks, i have a Msi for 3 years now with a Nvidia GPU and more than 1000 hours playing games, overcloked and constants GPU temps over 85 C° and still having no issues.

I am experiencing regular GPU panics with my Nvidia GT 330M card, so I'd say that Nvidia sucks.

for the past few nights I've been researching how to run Mac OS vm on Windows. Not hackintosh, a VM will do.

Looks easy.

//sigh

never thought I'd have to prepare a contingency plan for life without Apple HW. C'mon Apple, talk me off the ledge.

is it likely that Apple will reduce the bezel by a good amount? Originally wanted the 13" because of its size, but I'll take the 15" rMBP if it's not too much bigger.

So now I have a USB C/USB 3 flash drive and a USB-C to Ethernet adapter staring at me, waiting to be used. Sigh

Assuming new Macs are coming in October (and there's a lot of people saying that's true), what reason could Apple have for NOT announce the MBP tomorrow? This year's iPhone isn't much of an update, and neither is the Watch.

I think you could argue no leaks means no announcement, but considering we're all on the same page about an October release, the lack of leaks is unsurprising. It's not like keynotes themselves leak; it's usually supply chain bits.

Because they would lose one months of sale of the current model? And get tons of returns from customers who purchased back2school offers.

Apple has frequently unveiled products months ahead of their release. And I'm not sure someone would return something and then go a month without a machine. Besides, they'd be purchasing a more expensive machine. Also, people who are close to jumping ship to another company would then hold off. So there are many reasons for an unveiling.

To those saying that Apple is working with AMD to make their own CPU.

Please.......................

Have you seen an aluminum laptop with rounded edges? show me this
I mean they are rounded on the underside and the back of the screen i guess.

I don't understand why people keep asking if they are revealing these tomorrow. Can you not wait a day?
its the night before christmas everyone

New product categories, yes. iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch. New generations of existing products though?
Lately it has been the norm for Mac hardware, yes. Unless it's a press-release spec bump, redesigns of Mac products are generally not available right when they're announced. MacBook, Retina MacBook Pro, and new Mac Pro all had decent wait times from announced > shipping. Only recent exception I can think of is the 27" iMac 5K and the 21" iMac 4K.

Also let's not forget Apple would likely open pre-orders (or give a date for them) if they got announced tomorrow with a shipping date in October, so it's not exactly like they'd be losing out on sales for a month, it'd just be deferred. The "Apple will lose a month of sales" reasoning is a bit weak, IMO.

Guess we'll find out soon enough :)

Strange, isn't it? There could be three choices left for 2016, assuming if and only if there is certainty a new MBP would come in the coming months:

1) It is unveiled Sept 7, and ships 1-2 months later

2)Want =/ Will . Apple may want to not do separate October events anymore, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they won't. The quote about not wanting to do future October events, I believe, came in a year ago, not even in 2016.

3)A smaller press-release style unveiling, but I do not see this as likely as either of the above, since it is purported to be a large change, reminiscent of 2008 and 2012 MBP updates, instead of interim updates in-between.

I don't know why, but I'm still quite hopeful Sept 7 has an unveiling for us.

You know if they just do a small press release, ooh man, uh. I'll be kinda depressed. Because in all sincereness that means, that the Mac is going to die eventually, because it just isn't even something to get EXCITED ABOUT ANYMORE? at Apple, which would be ABSOLUTE NON-STEVE JOBS BS, and that sucks! With a new MacBook chassis, OLED and TouchID for MacBook possible, a press release just doesn't make sense in my eyes, especially with Siri for macOS... and like I said I'll just be depressed...I mean I guess they did announce the Retina MacBook, but... eh

I think there's a lot of updates in the iPhone 7:

No more clicky home button
Updated camera (in case of Plus, brand new camera hardware and implementation)
Waterproofing
Better display
No headphone jack
Better speakers
Better force touch hardware
And the typical hardware upgrades

ONE MORE THING! AirPods.

How long is the event scheduled for? Sony have a gaming show starting 2 hours after that I'm interested in too. If Apple's event runs over 2 hours I'll have to make a choice about which to follow as my crappy internet connection won't serve me 2 streams well at the same time:mad:

I think this is what Santa will do tomorrow:
