Indeed. You can get a new maxed-out MacBook Pro for $2000 on the American eBay, and for around €1900 on the European eBay.

Mark my words, the new MacBook Pro will be presented today.
I have trusted sources.
Most of all, the fact that, after so many years, I won't be able to see the Live Event.
So get drunk and disappointed for me too, my friends.

Lol first of all, why would I consider Ebay a serious option to buy important stuff like a MacBook Pro? Just like I wouldn't buy a Premium car from a non official dealership, I don't buy products > 1000€ from Ebay.
Secondly, good luck finding those offers in Germany! You'll pay 1,9k€ for a MBP in ... Poland or those countries of Eastern Europe maybe lol. "Fell from a delivery truck" ;-)

New and sealed from the UK. I've bought several Macs from eBay UK and I'm from Belgium.

So what'll happen when they do release it today? This thread will probably explode and everyone will be like "We did it! We're the ones that survived the wait, take that ship jumpers!"

I'm excited for the absurdist memes, gifs, photoshops, and commentary sure to appear here all day! I will actually tune in for the liveblogging of nothingness and disappointment. Like watching the Oscars with clever twitter friends.

Agreed. I would never buy a used apple laptop off ebay. Maybe if its new in box, but I would be suspicious of anything purportedly 'new' thats $1000 off the official apple price.

Best bet: Buy from the apple refurb store. They usually have a nice little price break and are like new, with full apple warranty

I really hope we see some signs, maybe the new MBP in the background of the iPhone video while the calendar opened to add a new event

In all honesty, it does simply not make sense - nobody does anything for nothing. Nobody wants to offer you 1k because they like you, so something must be wrong about it.
Yes, Ebay is not comparable to the reburb store imo.
Anyhow - I was able to purchase my MBP through Apple on Campus, so I don't exactly know whether and if how much I would have saved with a refurbished one. + no beats right?

Apple refurb store is most DEFINTELY more safe than ebay. Its 100% safe.

As far as any lingering thoughts you may have spent a tad more than someone else might have, look at it this way: Its a solid laptop that will be your 'baby' for many years to come (assuming you dont upgrade in two weeks like you said).

You wont be doing a project in march 2017 on it and still be thinking 'gosh, did I pay too much for this?'

If it is indeed an iPhone & watch event only without mbp I hope macrumours implements a feature that prevents people from posting watch band puns like they were original and funny.
