I understand that i have a dslr also. But these are two totally different experiences. You can't compare a full camera to a phone camera. This is a big step up in camera quality for a phone. Something i use 90% more often
I did not say it wasen't a big step up. i am actually impressed by the new camera and it will serve a LOT of people well. but for those of us who do actually take photos which is used in publications, Pr, advertisements and other stuff it does not cut it.

And as you said you have a DSLR and still uses your iphone 90% of the time, a lot of people i know who have a DSLR is also using the iphone a lot. but their need for a DSLR in the beginning was not really there, it was a nice to have system not need to have. they might as well have bought a point and shot to 1/3 the price.

I need a GIF of a dog chasing it's tail and then panting eagerly into the camera. Over. And over. And over again. Can anyone set me up with that? Kind of sums up what we've been doing here...

I'd also settle for a Bill Murray in Groundhog Day meme.

XPS 13 kaby here we come. I'm done doing this again.

Actually the price in the US : 649 $ is without Taxes ( because the taxes rate are different between states )
But those are pretty low and in some states even 0... worst case it is 9.45% which is 61$, there is still a 150 dollar difference... :(

The surprising part of all this is that they actually provided a release date for macOS Sierra. I knew they weren't going to release the MacBooks at this event, but figured they'd do a Sierra/Mac event in Oct. With Sierra coming out later this month I couldn't even guess at what Apple's intentions are!

How are you even expected to be able to use the lightning headphones on a mac? There is no female lightning to USB-C adapter

What if... the USB-C ports would by hybrid USB-C/Lightning ports? Perhaps they could have a 'push back' center pin, so you can plug a male lightning cable into it, and perhaps a locking mechanism so it's not falling out. Could also be used to charge (be it slowly) with an 10/12W power adapter...

Yeah what's crazy about the 9/20 release date, is I do a search in google for the last hour only on "macOS Sierra 9/20" and I get only 3 links in the results. wtf? Like nobody else even saw this or is mentioning it, one of the links is this thread! And it's abs()ly true. On the Apple.com website under Mac->Sierra release... 9/20. Damn talk about silent and crickets...

When have people used phones for professional photos in the first place? We are talking about two totally different things.
Its not expected to deliver DSLR professional images but it is a big step up for a phone. THAT IS ALL

Between this, the eventual release of the iPhone7/Watch2, and then release of macOS Sierra, we'll be well beyond 1k pages before the laptop is actually released.

I know. That 6P lens will be a game changer. To be far, I like taking pictures with my (old) iPhone.
But somehow Apple lost track of it's professional customers. It's what makes them big.

True, Pro-consumers is in Apple DNA, especially creative professionals. But the last several years its changed. Apple thinks the iPad is the future, maybe for a lot of other businesses and of course consumers. But doing serious stuff on an iPad as a creative professional its still lightyears away. That Apple is not focusing on there Macintosh line is first of all, a money thing, secondly innovation, mobile chips etc. are in a much faster pace then x86 chips. You can blame Intel, but the world choosing mobile last several years so Apple and other companies follows that trend. R&D, markteing etc. goes to mobile, it make sense.

Still there is a big bunch audience of creative professionals that are loyal to Apple, alway pay a premium price for the best hardware thats Apple had to offer. Last 5 years Apple leaves that audience in to dust, its a shame, that Apple ignored them, the innovation on x86 machines is slowed down, but Apple is know for to come with surprises. And that Apple is till today hidden. I stil have big hopes that Apple will introduce some nice Pro machine later this year. But except that the upgrade pace will slower, no more half year upgrades.

Apple just published this video that summarizes 2 hour into 107 seconds:

nice!

Not nice, IMO. Apple is now a slick marketing company with no real meat on it's bones. Remember the famous 'sugar water' quote from Steve Jobs to John Scully? Apple is now selling the equivalent of 'sugar water' in their computing devices: All style and flash and no substance.

I meant, I prefer seeing that over 'Pokeyman', mario, and the other weird game, the awkward women with her iWork collaboration and the nike dude...
