sorry i wasn't clear.
it doesn't make sense when you have other ports on the same side!
the headphone cable will inevitably have to cross any other cable connected to a usb port, and that's just bad design.
in fact the headphone jack has always been the port closest to the user.

You won't have to. The difference is that USB-C is widely accepted and not proprietary. Pretty much all new Android phones use it, USB-C headphones will soon proliferate the market, and USB-C cables are cheap as hell. Give it a year and any modern monitor will be USB-C compatible.
 
Guys, just saying, did you see the new XPS 13" with kaby lake? i7 7500u with 256gb ssd and 8gb ram. It's like 12k sek (I'm a swedish tard) which is like $1000?, they're always cheaper in the US.

If my computer were to die today, I would buy that one.

To be honest guys I find it very strange that no additional rumours or leaks have surfaced. I really do hope the october release is happening, otherwise I'm jumping ship, too much time waiting

Don't despair. It's par for the course for Mac rumors. They just aren't built in massive numbers like the iPhone. We should be lucky we have the June case leak. That, the Touch Bar stuff in Sierra, and Mark Gurman's predictions are all strong signs.

Agreed. If it doesn't come out in October then that case leak (assuming it's not fake) would be the longest time between a leak of a physical object and the actual release of the product.

Yeah, my hope end of October at the latest we will see some love for the Mac. My dream is a 5K TB display alongside MBPs.
Time to renew my whole gear. If Apple delivers, I will have a pretty expensive end of the year. But it is all good. Gotta expend money to make money.

Same here, I'm going to keep an eye out for a TB display. Being that it's going to be USB-C/TB3 I'm optimistic there will be plenty of competition to force Apple to offer something unique and different from everyone else. If it's going to be just a monitor with a builtin dock then I'll look elsewhere.

When I first thought I should get the new MBP, I asked my parents to put aside some of the money they have saved for my education in stock. Apple stock actually. I've been waiting for this computer for so long that we've accrued about +$5,000. I feel bitter at how long it's been, but I guess the extra cash is nice. Gives me free reign.

Because of this my maximum price depends on the pricing of the new line. I want the medium range 15-inch. I'm expecting to pay from about $2200 to under $2500. Plus Apple recycling should net me ~$400. I'm planning on keeping this computer for at least 4 years. If I keep up repairs, I'm hoping for about 6 years. I'm not sure, I haven't kept a computer for longer than 4 years before.

yeah I'm going to jump ship to rMB if the new mbp doesn't come before 2017
 
I hope the next Mac comes with Kaby Lake. Sky now does not interest me the slightest.

Benchmark says on a single core Haswell processors performs better than Skylake only a marginal improvement overall.

I am happy with my MBP 16GB ram and 1 TB Flashdrive 4.0GHz Turbo boost.

Tim must take note majority of MBP users are high end software dev and computer scientist. Its not iPhones they are dealing with, as any new kid on the block can lap it up and prattle to his girlfriends.

We expect substance and solid hardware enhancements not mickey mouse features like a layout change or a touch button

Since we're just spinning our tires aimlessly anyway: You know what I want for colors? Jet black with an old school Rainbow Apple Logo on the back! That would look f'n badass!

Please provide concrete, reliable source supportive of your statement: "majority of MBP users are high end software dev and computer scientist"

It's 5 AM here in Sweden and I'm on my way to the Apple (Store). I'm going to buy my first Apple Watch. I've been waiting for this day since the first Apple Watch was introduced. I called the Apple (Store) yesterday and they told me people were already standing in line (likely most of them are waiting for the iPhone 7). I hope the new watches are not going out of stock. I didn't preorder anything.

Wish me luck! You are the only ones I know that really know the meaning of a long wait.
