I wrote that badly, i meant that using a mouse on a mac is worse than on a windows machine. Try moving the mouse in a circle on both platforms an you will notice the difference.

Sorry i wrote it badly, i mean't using a mouse is worse on mac and better in windows, see above :)
That doesn't make any sense. I use both windows and Mac and there is no difference besides the speed( which you can easily change in system preferences)

I'll be doing my usual. Install Sierra on my 11" MBA first to see if there are any bugs that impact Lightroom or Photoshop then, if the coast is clear, upgrade my iMac.

On topic...as much as I'm looking forward to a new MBP, I'll really miss the MBA for travelling. It's been one of my favourite computing experiences to date. Hoping the new MBP will be a little lighter, if not thinner, to ease the switch.

Everyone excited to update our old outdated macs with a shiny new OS today?!
I will postpone any update after seeing some positive feedback. I was burnt already by Yosemite. El Capitan was more or less a must to get Trim on 3rd party SSDs officially supported, and it runs so well that I will stay as long as necessary.

By the way: my iMac 27" (mid 2011) seems to have a wrecked GPU. I have a Genius appointment tomorrow. Hopefully they will repair without cost for me, as they did with my MacBook Pro 15 (also mid 2011). This 2011 GPU generation was a really bad vintage, it seems.

I am not going to install Sierra right away. I installed Mavericks when it first came out and there was a lot of glitches. So I waited a couple of months last year with El Capitan. I think I will do the same this time around.

Or maybe I will just upgrade at the same time as the new MBP's come out :D

I'm quite scared since when it finally releases there will bw no stock for anyone to actually buy it :(
I've never had this problem with Macs. They aren't the hype machines that the i-devices are, as evidenced by sales. Most people won't drop their current computer just to get a new one unless it breaks or starts acting slow.

Don't worry about Sierra bugs. I have the perfect solution for that. (A Porsche 993 for page 993)

Yes, yes we have.
Multiple rumors said the new AMD Polaris GPUs, and there are chance we could get the RX 480M (which right now has been only seen on that page of notebookcheck)
Interesting. I was planning on getting the igpu since i thought the new mbp wouldnt be good for gaming. This is a pretty good card though so i might have to cough up extra and get the dgpu

Guys guys! What if the new MacBook Pros come out in October...but just spec bumped!
And they pushed the redesign to early 2017!

This will certainly be funny ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Agree. Don't need any OLED stuff to survive, skylake, 16gb RAM and more battery life would be absolutely fine.

No redesign. No gimmick. Yes spec bump. Yes TB3. Yes, take my wallet.

Happy for a speed bump. I thought Apple defaulting the 2014 15" MacBook Pro to 16GB RAM was a breakthrough back then. And now, nothing for our Pro line. Heck, even the Nvidia 1060 GFX is being shoved into 'slim' designs.
I wouldn't mind even a 'FatBook' Pro if it means 18 hours battery life, ports galore, and a decent graphics card.

If the spec bump is skylake, RX 480M, upgradable to 32GB ram and faster and bigger SSD i would be really happy.
I need a new mac to work on which do not have old hardware for the price of new...

There is indeed a difference beside speed that lies in windows moving the cursor before the screen is updated. The mac, however renders the screen before moving the cursor in order to move the mouse smoothly. A different approach to architecture. If you don't notice it, then good on you. But if you are coming from say a FPS background like i do, then this issue is very real.

There's a guy that writes more on it called dae, you can read his blog here.

Is Apple pushing for a completely portless and seamless device in the distance future? Just a theory, but imagine a complete OLED bar keyboard. No machinical keys at all. Everything Apple releases seems to suggest this.
The removal of arbitrary ports. A Push for wireless technology and changing ect.

Imagine a device without any ports. A touch screen keyboard (This would allow for an even thinner designs which Apple love) Wireless charging. Completely seamless, no holes no nothing.
I calling it now. The 2020 MacBook will look like this.

So basically you are talking about an iPad ?

Fine with me. Most of us just need a new Mac, a redesign would only be a bonus. Heck, I'm on the fence to just buy an older one when they go on clearance.
