Does anyone have an experience with the Alienware laptops? There's a 13" and 15".

I'll let you know in about a month. I will have one of the 15" GTX 1060 coming my way.

Can't wait to actually play games at decent settings with decent frame rates. Always had the crappiest cards, low end cards. The only thing this rickety old MBP can do is like 45 FPS Half Life 2 at 1024x768 reso.

Everyone excited to update our old outdated macs with a shiny new OS today?!

Yep, unless Apple throws me a bone, I know Sierra will be the end of the road for 2010 MBP such as my own. Its already on the vintage/obsolete list.

Almost all major retailers here in Greece have sold out the 15" MBP and they are not offering a way to order them.
They only offer the 13" models with 12% discount.
Best Buy in the US no longer sells the 15". Not sure when that happened though...
Edit: Nevermind, I see it now. That was weird.
Edit2: Realized if you search "macbook pro" there is a 15.4, but if you search "retina macbook pro" it doesn't show up.

I think that's what I'm going to do on my iMac tomorrow. But with the new file system coming (I think, unless they nixed that idea), was sure which route to go.

Also, figured I help this thread to get to 1000.

New file system isn't released for another 4/5 months

I'm quite scared since when it finally releases there will bw no stock for anyone to actually buy it :(

Yea probably. Where I live it's quite possible if they release the new rMBPs mid October that we get them after new years or best case scenario late December.

I didn't use MAC, but lots of friends recommend the MBP, and I tried it in the Apple Store, now I am crazy about it...
I read this thread every day and so happy that so many people are waiting for the new MBP with me, LOL.
Oct. Oct. Oct. come on!

In a day or two we will be at 1000. Next goal is 30 000 posts. Do you think we will reach them before apple releases their s***?

I am so not installing Sierra. I was an early adopter on Yosemite and El Capitan. No more such mistakes until all software I use is fully updated.

I won't be installing Sierra either, as there is no point as Apple are releasing our shiny new computers [macpro, imac, mac mini, macbookpros', macbook air, new 5k thunderbolt display - I think that covers it] in 2 weeks time, guaranteed as I saw it in my tea leaves this morning.

Will Sierra provide a peformance upgrade over El Capitan?

Define 'performance'. Many new Sierra features won't work with older hardware, btw.
Personally I am most excited about the new file system which is starting to roll out.

No Sierra for me. Totally.
Hell, I'm still using Mavericks.
I fear too much incompatibility, and I've passed through too many OS to risk it.

But if you give me Snow Leopard again, Apple, we can talk about it...

Whaaaattttt????? I'm using a mouse right now on my MBP and it's a cheap dell usb mouse from work.
I wrote that badly, i meant that using a mouse on a mac is worse than on a windows machine. Try moving the mouse in a circle on both platforms an you will notice the difference.

Really? I never knew that. For some reason it make me feel all panicky and want to plug a mouse in.
Sorry i wrote it badly, i mean't using a mouse is worse on mac and better in windows, see above :)
