So even though I pre-ordered and it won’t ship till 17th I’m thinking of waiting in line instead this Friday. Is there any official word anywhere as to when the Apple Stores will open?

They will open at 8am however you'll need to be lined up at least by Thursday night to get an iPhone X.

Although I got a reservation for 8am at my local store, I will probably get there a couple hours early. I used to camp out for DAYS and I’m actuallt excited to see the crowd this one gets.
I can’t but applaud those who do.

Usually I’m stretched for time and so things that take a simple sec (like this post) is ok.

I’ll wait maybe a half hour to hour max for my favorite food (foodie at heart).

But I can’t stand camping out for a product, especially when in the past I would waltz in before closing and get one without wait.

But having been on the other end of that spectrum (working at a launch) it’s always fun to watch.

Did either of you preorder?
I did. But I need to go to a Verizon store anyways to move stuff around on my account, cancel a line, and change my data plan, plus trade a phone in lol. I also kind of want to see if I can score a 256 GB instead of the 64 I ordered.

How early do you plan to go?

Planning to sit at Verizon. Trying to decide what time to go. I went last year for the 7 to try and get a jet black. I was like 5th in line by 3 am.

I was undecided this year so I slept through preorder on purpose.

The iPhone 6/Plus also released on a Friday. I started a line on Wednesday evening and by the end of that night there were at least 10 people behind me.
By Thursday evening there were at least 30 of us out there.
By Friday morning before opening I counted at least 80 people.

Side Note: I paid a bum to sit there for me so I still went about my normal daily activities/work.

FYI: My delivery date for the X is Nov 3rd so no camping this year.

Advice: I definitely wouldn’t wait until Thursday night to line-up. At least not here at the Apple Store in Colorado Springs.

I was thinking 1 am this year. Verizon store has wifi and I can binge Stranger Things 2 or just sleep

My appointment is for 8:30 but I'm going to get there an hour early to check out the line. I would have been there on Thursday if I couldn't get my order in last week.

I camped out once. That was for the iPhone 5. Got there at 8:30 Thursday night. Was #3 in line. There were hundreds of people behind us when the store opened in the morning. I didn't think I'd say this before I went that night... it was a great experience! Everyone I talked to were nice and friendly. Nobody tried to take anyone's spot. We could get up to walk around and goto the bathroom without worrying about losing it.

I reserved for 8am as well and plan to get there a couple... minutes early. Don’t have time for camping anymore.

Haha food is always great! I really miss camping out. Used to do it with a large group of friends at the same store every year, so I got pretty close to the same group of Apple fans. It was fun. But can be exhausting. Reserve in store is the best option for me, best of both worlds

My town doesn’t have a Apple store. It does have 2 Verizon corporate stores.

I have to decide which one to go to. The one that should be less busy has huge homeless clan that lives a block away. Don’t want to be pestered all night if they figure out a big group will be hanging out.

I might have to hit the ATM if it meant having a smelly guy not sit with me.

Do they hand out tickets or anything to people in line? I’d hate to wait in a line only to find out they didn’t have what I wanted.

I’m considering stopping by in the morning just to check it out, since my order is Nov 17-24. Like if I get there an hour early and find out they have the one I want, and can guarantee I’ll get one, I’d wait. But no way I’m waiting overnight or anything.

Yes! Camping out has always been a good experience for me. I’ve camped out probably 5/6 times over the years.

Lol how much did you pay said bum? I don't know if I'd trust some random bum to hold my spot, but I'd probably pay a friend or someone to wait for me.

Damn 5th in line at 3am? At the local AT&T store last year there were probably 15 people by midnight. I got there at 5:30 and I was the first.
