I've rocked the Gold iPhones for years -- since the 5s. Felt like a change to the darker shade of things.
Also, I feel like it matches my White Ceramic Apple Watch better too..

Remember, it's only the back and sides that are different. Use a case, and no one would ever even know the color -- except for the black or stainless poking out from the bottom...
But, the black stainless looks pretty sexy to me. You can see what it looks like on the black stainless apple watch. It's very nice.
Also, in case you didn't realize, it's the same diamond like coating on the iPhone X as it is on the Apple Watches with it.. It's a LOT harder to scratch than the pure Stainless Steel version..

I also have been back and forth on the color/capacity.
I would actually be happy with any configuration. I am only at 30GB though I always buy 128 plus.
So I will see what I get.

My local corporate ATT store will not have any iPhone X on Friday. They posted a sign on their door.
Damn really? You just killed my mood man. I was planning on lining up at my local AT&T store thursday night. What city is this store in?

Want to ensure you get a phone? I would start lining up Wednesday around midday. My cousin Pablo is planning to go on Wednesday. Bringing a sleeping bag, pillow and plenty of snacks.
Now this would really suck.
But there could possibly be a reason that one store isn’t getting stock. Like they have bad customer survey scores at that location and this is the ATT punishment.
On the east coast so my stores are closed. Can anyone check with their Verizon store on the other coast?
Im in TX so stores are closed as well. Im going to call tomorrow morning and see what they say. Managers a nice guy, hopefully I can actually speak to him instead of some clueless employee.

My order isn't shipping until December 11-18, so I will definitely be checking the store to see if I can pick one up sooner.
Just to be clear....if I already ordered online (delivery 17-24th nov), But I am lucky enough to land one in store on opening day, it must be purchased on a different line? Assume so because I am planning to add a new att line and cancel after I switch the IPX to my other line. Of course, I will also cancel the order in progress (which I believe is possible until it ships)
I spoke to a couple of Verizon stores out west and they don’t know if they will have stock yet. Odd thing is the Verizon corporate recording. It says order online for in store pick up for launch day. Makes it sound like the Friday inventory will open up at some time for online ordering.
Now wondering if that will be midnight. It would really suck to wait in line and miss out because of in store pickup.

I think you should go for it. I don't think it will sell as well as Apple expects it to be once every hardcore Apple fan get their's.
Reminds me of last year's election. Everyone assumed Hillary would win and win by a landslide. She won all the debates. She had MSM backing her. She was even celebrating that day. What a shock that was. It was like Atlanta Falcons up in the Super Bowl, 28-3.
I bet if I arrive there by 6am, I can pick one up without having a pre-order. $1100-$1300 is no joke to an average consumer. By Dec, it would be easy picking one up at any store. Apple has reserved many for walk-ins too.
This is just early intoxication for us being prisoners of the moment and wanting something new. Once the buzz wears off, majority will start thinking clearly. It's going to be a fun week. But I'm not camping overnight for one.

I have lined up and stayed overnight for one thing in my life and that was only because my wife challenged me when her sister-in-law told her I wouldn't get the Xbox 360. At that point it was game on and I froze my ass off all night. I made friends with a guy in line who played football for Northwestern. He held my place in line when I ran home at 2:00 to get more layers. I don't know how people line up and live on the side walk from Wed to Friday morning.
That is what I'm hoping for. I don't doubt there will be some people camping. But with online pre-ordering seeming to be more and more popular, and Apple seeming to limit iPhone purchases to new numbers or upgrade of existing numbers only (if pre-ordering is anything to go by, limiting scalpers), I think walking in Friday morning may actually be a feasible option.
During the summer releases, camping out was much better. Back when camping out was pretty much the best option. Nothing an umbrella for some shade could fix during the day. Nowadays it’s freezing outside so camping out isn’t going to be fun. I’m going to a mall store this Friday to pick up my reservation at 8am, since the mall will open at 6am, I will be in some warmth
Honest question but dumb question🙂 ...how is it possible to line up at an Apple store in the mall when they close? Do you wait outside the mall? I live 15 minutes from Menlo Park but wouldn’t think it’s possible to line up that early.

I don't think they let anyone in the mall until the mall opens. Even mall walkers have to wait, but often the mall opens before the stores do.

I lined up at a mall Apple Store in SoCal a couple of times (and at an AT&T Store another time).
For the malls, you line up outside a specific entrance (security will tell you where), and when they open the doors in the morning (usually for employees), you’re allowed to shuffle in and line up outside the door of the Apple Store inside the mall.
They’ve been doing this a long time; it’s not a free-for-all. 🙂
