The point was for the person in question, as he was unable to name a source before.
These rumours and all the links they link to originally seem extremely vague at this stage. If somebody would have true knowledge they would post some specs, not ideas of where the specs could be headed. I could be wrong, but so far I think the rumor scene is simply producing hot air in terms of iPad Pro rumors.

Be very surprised to see 6 RAM in IPP 2 unless something was afoot with a major iOS update and apps released for iPad only. Otherwise what is the point as runs more than adequate with what is chucked at it.

I'm waiting to see the 10.5" model. I think it will be the perfect size in terms of portability and productivity, not to mention have a bezels design and NO CAMERA BUMP!!!! (Hopefully)

I just hope they don't have a software home button. The best way to do it would be to make what bezel there is (maybe if it's artificial they could use 3D touch) to be the home button, all the way around the device. This would be extremely convenient and much more seamless and intuitive than a single button.

Why can't you post a link if so? I can't find and others can't find any link with this info.
I don't find this to be a reputable source, but it at least shows SOMEONE is talking about it

I personally don't believe it to be true. Maybe thats where the other dude on here got it from but stubbornly won't link to it

I was absolutely shocked last June when WWDC rolled around and we got no ipad specific updates with ios 10. I mean...i couldn't even explain it. After all the talk from apple about iPad Pro being amazing and it being able to replace your laptop, nothing in the update but iphone features? Really?!

My only hope is that maybe they were still working on it and now they'll have a MASSIVE update with ios 11. But...even i know thats probably just wishful thinking

I'm genuinely interested in what you were doing that you found the 12.9 Pro to be too underpowered. I won't dismiss your explanation, I won't offer another way of attempting to do the same thing, I won't claim that you were "doing it wrong", but I am interested.
Painting, needs more ram for bigger canvas dimensions. Also editing 4K was slow. H264 didn't even work last time I tried it. Raw photography processing slow.

I have an Ipad Pro 12.9. It is literally one of my favorite Apple products I have ever purchased. Having said that, I was shocked when they didn't have any Ipad Pro specific improvements in iOS 10. That is the primary reason I won't be upgrading when they announce the new Ipad Pro (well, that, and the fact that given Apples current state of affair with their products you probably won't be able to purchase the new iPad Pro until four months after they "release" it).

The current hardware is more than capable of running whatever applications are available for it. iOS and apps are the current bottleneck in regards to the iPad line.

Well , presumably the new iPad will come with iOS 10.3
And given that Apple will release iOS 10.3 beta 1 early January (January 10)
I would d say that's it's not so far.....

My guess would be that the 12.9 gets updated with Tru Tone display, better cameras, new processor and possibly a redesign with a reduction in bezels. Honestly, the only thing that would make me regret not waiting for the new 12.9 is if it gets a redesign with smaller bezels. Other than that I'm content with my 12.9. A new 10.5ish inch ipp is supposed to be released with a footprint no larger than the current 9.7.

More like 3 months away, usually the end of March

Then another month or two until you can walk into a store and buy one. I avoid launch events because of Apple's artificial demand that creates inventory issues. I plan on upgrading to the new iPad in November after its launch and the new iPhone in December after its launch.

Disappointed with 3D Touch as developers have not done much with it in all honesty. Would like to see it incorporate into available actions and sharing functionality. Therefore, not bothered about if it is in an IPP or not, given its current state.

Just want the 12.9 to get lighter and to get the better screen, apart from that it could have the A9X still and I'd still buy it.

If the A10X chip like the A10 fusion, then it won't really be true "quad-core". It'll probably be 40% faster than the A9X, just like the A10 fusion is over the A9.

That's just nonsense "won't really be true 'quad-core'. That's like saying a mustangs V8 when operating in Eco mode using 4 cylinders is not a real V8.

Just cause not all 4 cores can be used at the same time for any given task, application or series of processes/threads doesn't mean that it doesn't have quad core CPU.

Personally I think the majority of iOS users would NOT want that if the major trade off is heat, battery life and minimal performance gains. Not like it's plugged in all day long like a desktop computer.

I disagree. If it can't use all four cores at the same time, then it's not a true "quad-core" chip. It's just two dual cores that can't run simultaneously.

That's not to say that it's not an excellent chip because it is.

Personally, I'm looking forward to the animated emoji packs. Isn't that what we're all waiting for?! ;)

I returned my iPad Pro 9.7 128gb wifi even though I got it for $513 sams club sale in November.

I never even opened it for 40 days.

My main issue was the 2gb of ram. If it had 4gb ram like the 12.9 model I would have kept it.

Just typical Apple purposely leaving out the extra RAM just because they can

We still have 2 iPad Air 2 (2014) purchase kids use and they run fine. Plus iPad Air (2013) that my 4 year old plays with and it still works well for her.
