Waiting Patiently for the White iPhone and Making Guesses to It's Availability Here

I really don't want to get my hopes up again for a pre-order tonight if there isn't one. Seriously, I just want to order the thing, for whenever it comes out. Is that that crazy?
 
i've been waiting patiently for white too (my first iphone), but all this negativity has me considering picking up a 3GS while supplies last and waiting for the next rev of the phone. maybe i'm just buying into the hype.

I've waited two years for this phone, I can wait a little bit longer, but seriously, it feels like the days just drag on and on. I'm not concerned with the death grip issue. I've always had relatively strong service where I live and operate around, and I use facebook more than my phone to communicate.

I just want a beautiful screen and some great storage. FaceTime is also a plus.
 
I was in the mall today and because I was i thought ok i'll just stop by the Apple store and ask questions.

I asked the guy if they had the white phones yet, he said what we all already know that they are coming the second half of July. And then I asked him regarding those who have the black iphones who want to return their phones in exchange to the white ones, he said as long as it's within the 30 days you can do that.

The guy was nice and all smiles, he didnt seem to react negatively regarding people swapping black to white.

But made me think that for sure they won't release them until after the 30 day period. Because think about it, From the 15th of July - the 24th its just 9 days. They can easily wait it out to release the white iphones. What's another 2 weeks for them?

I have barely used mine but today when i called a friend he couldn't hear me well, he said my voice was cutting up so bad. Is this the dropped calls that people complain about?

I updated from the SLVR to the iPhone (original) so i can say this: Upgrading from SLVR to iPhone 4, Jesus Christ, you're in for a treat! lol.

because its my birthday (seriously).

Im holding out for the white too, rather impatiently actually. Here are my thoughts.

1) Apple wont announce anything until at least July 24th (evening), as it would eliminate the possiblity of people taking their black ones back for a refund to get the white.

2) they wont be on sale until at least July 25th.

My guess is July 28th.

There's no need to wait to announce it. If you announced it on the 15th, but didn't release it until the 26th, people still won't be able to exchange their iPhones for them.
 
I don't know when it will be released, but I will say that I don't think it will have anything to do with the 30-day return period. I mean, first of all, how many people (outside of macrumors) actually know about that "loophole". And second, people are getting iPhones 4s all the time... no matter what, they will have some people who are inside their 30-day limit. Apple will account for this in their numbers and deal with it.
 
I think the 30 day period thing isn't a big deal. They are advertising the black one mostly so people are going to be used to that. Not every single person who bought a black one will one want a white. Additionally, the people that really really want the white iPhone 4 are the ones waiting for it.

I'm actually indecisive on whether I want the white or black yet. I want to see the white one first. It's probably just my instincts telling me to wait out the reception problems. But ya I'm pretty sure they will stick to the 2nd half of July. I think it's going to be later rather than sooner. This reception problem is spinning out of control. I'd rather them work on that then, rush out the white iPhone 4.
 
I think I want the white phone. But there is one issue with it, the screen looks much more vivid against a black background. So, I was thinking that what I really wanted was a black phone for the front with a white or skin for the back. I like that idea, I really like the idea of a new glass white back on a black phone but I am sure that would void every warranty in the book and I would be shot with a handgun if I bought it into the AT&T store.

Watch, I will patiently wait for the white one. I will like the black one's face and walk out of the store with a black one and skin it. No guts not glory.

That is a really poorly written article. Doesn't appear to have any legitimacy.

I think Apple will do 1 of 2 things:

1. Allow pre orders around the 15th (maybe as late as the 20th) then release AFTER the 24th
2. Allow pre orders AFTER the 24th and release the 31st.

Either way, I doubt we'll get those good looking white iphones into our hands until after the 24th.:(

Not everyone with a domain is a native English speaker.

Not saying there's any legitimacy to this (look at the ABOUT US and look at the domain creation date), but don't let the author's command of English influence you. I know my command of the Tamil language is non-existant. :)

I doubt my Tamil is any better, but I wouldn't attempt to write an article in that language either.

There's a reason why the most successful writers have an incredible grasp of the language they write in.

Poor writing is a strong sign of shoddy journalism.
 
im guessing that it won't be released until the very end of the month. if it gets released any earlier then that I know of 4 people that I work with that are returning their blacks for a white one.
 
I'm not sure that there is going to be any pre orders to be honest. It might just come as a surprise and AT&T Stores, Apple, Best Buy, Radio Shack and other authorized Apple retailers will receive stock. It's not going to be a whole second launch so there is no need to have pre orders, because the product is already released and sold in stores. It's just a color change.

For all you know, it could be July 24th. Or you could walk into an Apple Store this weekend and maybe pickup a white iPhone 4. It really is hard to predict Apple's decisions.

nothing wrong with that....Im waiting until i can walk into the Apple store and hold both in my hand and then make a game time decision. If the black looks better than so be it, but until i can see them both at the same time in person i wont be buying a black.
 
I hope the white iPhone 4 is the same price as the black one. I noticed on thr Apple site, it says "From" (Price)!
