Something Walmart This Way Comes!

in b4 snooty Wal-Mart haters.

EDIT: Wait, also in after.

Take the golden rods out of your asses and realize that no matter where you buy a product from, it's the same product.

Snooty? Walmart sucks! It's everything that's wrong with America. A bunch of hippo's buying in bulk is not what this country needs.

Also, they don't deserve the iPad, it hurts the image IMO. Then again, AAPL owners would appreciate this welcome.

Bottom line: **** Walmart and their snooty customers.

Hey, I'm a an amazingly good looking, highly intelligent, slim, sharp dressing dude and I go there a lot. I love Super Walmart's DIY pizzas. Why am I never photographed? :)

Obvious narcissism is obvious. I bet you don't have teeth.

my brother who wouldn't know what to do with a Mac, always used Dell's or Windows machines as an attorney, first had a iPod, then got an iPhone, and now has an iPad. :D

having such consumer appliance type electronics makes perfect sense at Target and Walmart. The more the mind share the better.

Are you listening to yourself? Just a horrible post, just horrible.

Over 6 months since the iPad launch, and I still can't find a camera connection kit anywhere. Best Buy never has them, neither does the Apple Store when I'm home in KC. With there being 5 Walmarts (!) here in this podunk town that I attend college, I'm hoping that I can at least snatch up one kit. I guess I could always order it online, but meh. I don't need it THAT bad, but it would be convenient and I always check when I'm at a store.

Go to BestBuy.com. Then go to Products>Computers>iPad & Tablets>iPad Accessories>Digital Camera Connection Kit

Check for store availability by zip code or street address, city and state.

You'll know its at the store because the store name will be bold. This is what my local BB/Apple rep told me and how I got my iPad 3G on June 3rd, while others who had ordered at Apple.com a lot earlier then I, were still ranting that they hadn't received theirs!

Oh and I checked online for today, Oct. 9th, availability for the Kansas City, MO stores, I see six stores... Five that say it is available now and one that says "Ship to Store" of the Camera Connection Kit.

Also inquiring about the iPad I was told by BB rep to check Tuesday, when the truck comes in to drop off stock. Ask you local BB what day the truck comes in to BB at your neck of the woods and then check it at online at home before heading out. Happy Hunting! :apple:

Walmart is not exactly the type of retailer Apple would want their products to be associated with.

I still think $499 is expensive for a "base model" iPad.

I disagree with this. The components and OS for the iPad is expensive. Apple is likely losing money selling the base model iPad at $499.0 So saying it is too expensive, do you mean just the price? If that is the case they would have to make the thing of a much lower quality to lower the price. There is no real profit for Apple in the base model iPad. This is why competitors are struggling to get to market.

As for the rest.. Wal-Mart is the biggest retailer in the world... What is wrong with you dummies who don't shop at wal-mart? You aren't that cool, so get over yourselves.

Bashing on walmart hasn't be interesting for about 10 years now, so for those of you still doing it and trying to act cool, you are just making yourselves look foolish.

Yeah will be amazing how much of an installed base the iPad will have before any real competitors get up to speed.

Like many have already said, the iPad is the next iPod. The mp3 player, as well as a the tablet pc, have been around for quite some time. The iPod stepped into the scene and, ever since, no other mp3 player has reached that same level of popularity and success. Really, who, these days, doesn't manufacture an mp3 player? iPad will be no different. A million tablets will flood the market, but the iPad will be way ahead of the competition.

BTW, those elite, superior beings on here who are complaining about the iPad coming to Wal-Mart, you guys are some seriously disturbed folk. I hope that the next time you're at your equally elite Starbucks, that $7 cup of hot, steaming coffee accidentally spills all over your chests and Macbooks. :D

I don't like the idea of walmart, Apple make premium products. Walmart sells third category products. Isn't that going to change the way people look at Apple products in the long run?

What is so premium about apple products other than the prices?

The only that is "third category" is your grammar! And the only thing that can change the way people look at Apple products is the ridiculous bunch (such as yourself), who think that a stupid apple symbol on a product surely must mean they're hand-picked by God Himself, to own an electronic gadget. Get REAL. The only thing tainting the Apple brand is YOU, with your narrow-minded mentality.

What's wrong with buying bulk? I want me free Baby Grand Piano.

Otherwise it works wonders for non-perishable food.

Wal-Mart Preparing to Offer iPad

Apple is doing what any manufacturer would do. The goal is to offer products as at many places as possible. A lot of people shop at Walmart, including me. I don't like standing in long lines at the Apple Store. If I can buy the same product at Walmart I will do so as a matter of convenience to me. I have the advantage at shopping at 5 AM while all of the children that run around unattended are still at home asleep like their mothers. Since Walmart already has the iPods it makes sense that they would have the iPad too.

these threads make me laugh. how is apple an elite product? you dont have to be a millionaire to buy an apple product. an iphone costs $199, someone flipping burgers at mcdonalds could afford one. every teenager i see walking around has an ipod touch. buying apple is not like buying an elite product for the rich such as a brand new bentley for $250,000 that only rich people can afford. an ipad is the same price or cheaper than most laptops you would find at best buy. anyone who thinks its status to have a $499 computer is an idiot. walmart has been selling apple products for years, that is part of what made the ipod so successful. its not always poorer people who shop at walmart, in a lot of smaller towns and college towns there are no best buys or apple stores so most people do the majority of their shopping at walmart. walmart doesnt necessarily sell inferior products. whats the difference between buying a playstation 3 at walmart or buying it at best buy? they are both the same product, its not like the walmart one is generic and the best buy one is sony. walmart also sells samsung tv's and sony tvs and all the other main products. only a poor person would feel rich and think they are showing off by owning $199 and $499 products lol.

Wal-Mart iPads....

In the Aliso Viejo, CA store about two hours ago.. Already there, up and running...

Walmart? Has it come to this Apple? Walmart? I'm not saying Walmart is full of people who can't afford iPad (without taking on 30% credit from a fully legal and government subsidized loan shark), but if your looking for any you can try there. Sorry.

Doesn't matter the reason something cost too much to the consumer, that's Apple's problem. Also Walmart is part of what's wrong with our economy, go to school. I know WM may have the lowest prices, there's a reason for that lightbulb.

Bases covered

Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart. That probably covers about 80% of Americans. I am lucky to have all 3 in a mile. I have really enjoyed the iPad we bought a few months ago. My children love it to death and it is by far the most intimate and convenient computer we own. Thinking about getting the keyboard.

Also, I never miss a chance to thank Sam Walton for improving the lives of poor people in America by providing for cheaper goods. Wal-Mart alone has probably increased the standard of living for middle and lower income people more than anything else in the past 10 years. So, posthumous hats off to you tycoon!
