Updated my series 3 today (in the UK) and the Walkie Talkie app won’t download to my watch.

The icon is on my watch face but not complete, almost like it’s not installing.

When I go to my Watch App on my phone there’s no Walkie Talkie in the app section so now I have an unusable app icon that I can’t get rid of.

Anyone else have this issue?

The issue I’m having is when the app loads in my watch it doesn’t give me the ability to select a contact? If I go directly into my contacts app, I thought there might be a walkie talkie icon there, but nope.

Anyone get this to work with the issue I’ve described?

Strange, as I was messing with my MacBook got a message about my watch trying at access FaceTime. After it worked on my phone, must be linked to FaceTime. Now if only my calendar sync

All Walkie-Talkie contacts are still showing as "Inviting..." Will that change after they accept I'm assuming? Thanks.

Same. My friend and I both invited each other last night (without planning to) and now we both see "Invited". Hmm.

Also having this exact same issue... did you manage to get it fixed? I really don't want to have to reset my Watch entirely, just to try again.

My wife has a series 1 watch and I updated it to os5 last night. No sign of warlike-talkie app on her watch or on watch app on iPhone. Is it not compatible with series1 or did it just not install the update right?
I also noticed on series 3 I have the yellow walkie talkie icon up on the notification area that flashes ever few seconds. Anyone else?

No, still got the issue.

I’ve trawled the internet and can’t find anyone else reporting this issue other than you and I.

Looks like a reset of the Apple Watch is our only next option but I won’t be able to do this until later on in the week so let me know how you get on if you do it?

Not compatible with series 1 unfortunately.
[doublepost=1537263007][/doublepost]This is what I’m getting on my series 3 watch.

Icon is inactive and can’t be removed.

No icon or Walkie Talkie app in the Watch App on the iPhone either.

I did a hard restart of my (series 3) watch and now Walkie-Talkie seems to be working. The "Invited" message was gone upon restart so I added a friend again and he immediately got the notification and accepted.

It is compatible with series 1. Make sure you didn’t uninstall the FaceTime app since it’s linked to that. The walkie talkie flashes quick to let you know you have it set to “available” if you set it to unavailable it doesn’t show up.

And you’re sure you’re on iOS 12 and watchOS 5. Not trying to be a smart ass just troubleshooting

All up to date on phone and Apple Watch.

Funny, if I uninstall FaceTime and restart my iPhone the incomplete Walkie Talkie icon on my Apple Watch disappears.

If I reinstall FaceTime and then restart my Apple Watch the incomplete Walkie Talkie icon appears.

Check your iCloud settings and make sure your Apple ID is logged in with FaceTime as well.

My wife and I both invited each other and we both have under the app invited. How do you accept this?

My friend and I were the same. I first deleted my friend from the Walkie-Talkie section of the Watch app on my iPhone and then hard restarted my watch. After that I was able to add him again and he immediately got an invite. Not sure what happened first time but it seems to work now as I sent him a message and it played out of his watch's speaker as he was sat in a meeting with his boss. :D

You think I should delete it and hard restart both watches and just have one of us invite the other?

Well for us it was just me that did that. On his watch I saw just sat in the Walkie-Talkie app as "Invited" but once I messed around and invited him again he got an invite and was able to accept. I'm not sure what happened but we initially did it not long after watchOS 5 went live so maybe there were issues.

I have walkie-talkie on my series one. Just make sure that FaceTime audio is working on your phone first.
The yellow icon just means the walkie-talkie feature is active.
