Anyone else notice the positioning of the iPhone box in the photo.....? that CDMA sticker is kinda obvious. Is it a hint of what's to come??? hmmmm?

(Begin the "not this again posts in...3...2...1.)
:p

Omg!! That camera takes pictures of the future!!!

If there are phones that are not spoken for, Apple should be sending them to people who put down their money on the 15th and not to Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, and Best Buy!

But they are spoken for. The retailers have contracts that Apple will provide them with stock. They had to cut off preorders at some point based on the amount on hand.

AT&T Premier Order

I have an AT&T Premier order for a iPhone 4 32GB Black.

It is still at Processing. No Fedex Tracking number and the shipped box isn't checked.

I ordered at about 8AM EST on June 15. Is anyone else still stuck in Processing?

Ya know, I'm not seeing how it's possible for mine to make it here tomorrow for the 23rd. I got the email, but, my status is showing it's sitting in Anchorage. o_O

Anyone else in this boat? Whaddya think?

am I the only one who's ATT order status still says processing? (and backordered?)

someone tell me im not the only one :(

Woot - ordering from AT&T premier paid off. Just got back ordered removed last night. Got my tracking this morning. Scheduled for a June 23rd delivery with tracking info active. So much for getting screwed over.

Wish I could say the same thing... I should have ordered from Apple... Still backordered here :(

awweeeee AND who said life are fair

I am sorry, but I don't think Apple should be sending these out to stores for walk-in's when there are people that pre-ordered (Me from ATT on the 15th) that still don't have any idea of when they are going to get theirs!

I ordered at ~ 6pm EST.

Last I heard, I was after some cut-off time and that I will get mine at some later time than the 24th. No date was given to AT&T customers.

I think this is totally wrong.

Next time don't wait till 6:00 pm :) if u that unpatiant go buy it from pre-oreders at 1000$

Is the early delivery date just for Apple preorders or will AT&T preorders be delivered tomorrow as well? My FedEx tracking say the package is scheduled for delivery on June 23, but AT&T could still make them hold the shipment, right? Has AT&T issued any statements?

Mine is still chilling in Anchorage. I'll check tonight, but not sold on this email. Has there been any confirmation from Apple regarding the early release?

It takes a while for the cargo to be unloaded and placed on the right trucks and for them to get rolling. How long does the flight from Anchorage to Memphis take? Then it has to get to Chicago, then on to me...

I've ordered 8 iPhones over the years directly from apple. Always turns out fine. Not sure why anyone ever does otherwise. (this year was perhaps the worst experience due to the ordering snafus, but they seem to have hit all sources equally).

Exactly. I tried to order from Apple's website for 4 hours to no avail. Went to AT&T's site and it was slow and timed out a few times but my order got placed at 9:30am on the 15th. Got a confirmation email about 30 seconds later. Still processing... still backordered. I'm really hating AT&T now

Same here. Got the email from Apple, but FedEx still shows it in Alaska with a Thursday delivery estimate.

Mine is exactly the same .... but now that its in the US I think its possible they will deliver as indicated. Hope so!;)

Excellent point. 600,000+ packages (in addition to normal volume) for a ONE DAY window is ridiculous. I know Fedex/UPS/DHL can handle a huge volume (holidays), but they can don't have to deliver everything in a single day.

people seem to forget that it isn't a US-only launch. 600'000 split into 5 countries makes 120k each. that isn't that much anymore...

Nope you're not! I ordered at 12:30 Central on 6/15 and mine is still "processing" (no backorder though). As long as I have mine in a week or two I'll be ok. Now if the white phones are available before then I'll be really PO'd! When the white phones come out I'm going to use my daughter's upgrade and force her to take my black iphone 4. I hope she won't mind ;)

600K units of a single device from a single vendor is far easier than the holiday period. With a month or so to prepare, the major shipping companies can comfortably swallow this kind of load. Millions of boxes all from different vendors is a far tougher logistics problem.

More than a million copies of the final Harry Potter book were shipped in one day. The only difference with the iPhone is the need for people to sign for it.

Avoiding activation server melt-down is almost certainly the prime motivator. Annoying competitors might be an added bonus.

(Is the 600,000 number actually restricted to deliveries anyway? I thought it was total pre-order including in-store pick-up. Are first run orders from 3rd party retailers included in that count?).

It's certainly not going to be split evenly among the 5 countries. The US is going to get a much higher percentage, especially considering the phone will be offered by Apple (major), AT&T (major), Walmart, Best Buy, and Radio Shack. It's a good point, but it's still a very large volume for a single day window.

The email is from Apple. Isn't that confirmation enough?

Hmm. That's an interesting question... I don't see why not? Most people will be going to AT&T for iPhones on Thursday so it shouldn't be particularly busy... But you should call in and ask. If you ordered in-store, they may only make it available on the 24th. I remember when I ordered online through ATT, store deliveries would only be available on the 25th...

Yeah, they usually will make three attempts (weds, thurs, friday) before returning it to the sender.

plus if they do try and deliever on 23rd. and i dont get it. i should be able to go to the hub or warehouse and pick it up after 7

I order salmon from Alaska all the time and it shows up overnight to VA. Shouldnt be any worries for those with a location of Anchorage in their FedEx tracking.

It'll be fine. Today it will fly to your state, and over night it will make it to your local fedex depot.

Actually, since it is international, first it has to go someplace else (I want to say Tennessee) then get processed, then go back out toward your state.

Still in the pessimist category here and betting on Thursday, despite the encouraging note.
