Was going with titanium going to backfire for Apple?

It’s not safe to look at your phone while driving. 🤦‍♂️
handholding my phone during driving does not mean i'm looking at it. i can be listening to a youtube video but not looking at it.

I only touch the screen when its a red light. other than that, my eyes are fully on the road the whole time until its a red light.

but now i usually just set the youtube video to play then put it on the car magnet holder, so i only hand hold when its a red light.

The camera bulge is an eyesore and functional impediment. It would be nice to have an iPhone that would lie flat using in the Apple cases again.
They made the cases thinner for MagSafe charging. Buy a thicker case, problem solved (but no MagSafe).

Nope, its way lighter than before and easy for me to handhold during driving, just like my iphone 12 mini.

the new titanium iphones are awesome!

I upgraded from a 12mini to 15pro and have no issues handholding it thanks to its much lighter frame.

a 14pro would have cause my wrist some serious pain.

I also dont see any fingerprint marks whatsoever. Using the blue iphone 15 pro
Please don’t use your phone while driving it’s one of the most dangerous things you can do.

“Titanium remains strong at high temperatures, it doesn't easily dissipate heat, which can cause heat build-up in the metal. However, some titanium alloys can also perform extraordinarily well at cryogenic temperatures.”

Might be one of the reasons people are reporting heat related issues?

For me heat is not a problem as long as it doesn't damage other components and the performance and battery remains intact. A CPU can die if its at 195 Degree Fahrenheit for too long

I come from a country where doing even that gets you banned from driving so that makes me uneasy but as long as the car is stopped I can’t logically say it’s unsafe.
well its not illegal in my country. The law says the vehicle must be in motion before it's considered an offence. So i usually just wait for red lights before tapping my phone again.

I believe these changes in visible premium materials are meant to entice buyers. No other reason, really. Aluminium would suffice just fine. Beyond sight the 15 Pro series' supporting material is aluminium, also in the frame (50/50). I don't care about these things myself. But if people feel it's nice and therefore worth it, it's fine by me.

I say YES. It looks disgustingly CHEAP. Stainless steel had lots of class. Not looking like a $1500 phone anymore.

More like an $800 phone.

Plus in drop Tests the titanium crashes and burns hitting the pavement.

But Apple needs your repair business.

I am jumping ship for the Galaxy S24 Ultra in Feb.

Also the new Microsoft Surface Studio with just a 13th Gen i7 blows past an M2 Max Mac. And Windows 11 now has real cool AI features.

With the Pro models, Apple expects the potential buyer to do more than the average iPhone user. Record pro raw 4k externally etc. The material not only aesthetic, is required to seperate the consumer/prosumer.

Will the trade in value be higher than the stainless steel 14 Pros next year when the 16s are out?

Titanium has years and years of practical use as a superior metal and is coveted by industry but too hard and expensive to make. Apple should be applauded for using superior materials in their products. It's why we buy them.

For anybody that puts their phone in a case, the edge material is pretty irrelevant. In terms of advantages, the weight saving is a bonus, but aluminium is even better for that, and apart from that, I can’t think of what benefit titanium offers in all honesty? I don’t think cost is even a factor as I’d imagine it’s cheaper than the stainless when you factor in less material and less post processing (polishing) process. Its most probably brought costs down for Apple.

I have noticed that the phone gets considerably hotter near the chip area.

But other than that I think titanium is fantastic. The weight difference alone changes the experience in holding and using your phone. It’s so much more comfortable than using a 14 Pro Max

Nope I prefer the titanium over that stainless steel bling bling stuff. In a case you don't even see it. The misfires are the finewoven cases and those pastel colors of the standard models.
The standard 15 colors are perfect, much more premium colors that are bright but don’t burn in your eyes.
Green is exceedingly beautiful

Biggest one is that it don’t conduct heat effectively.

And with the new chips apparently substandard but instead of being disposed of - were used anyway and that is why the phone is heating up. Maybe they should have just used curved matt stainless steel instead.

More than last year I actually feel sorry for day one purchasers and now I’m looking to give them some good news - but this launch just seems cursed! But TMSC growing substandard products and having to use them because there is nothing else around does not bode well for the early units.
It’s 1mm of material around the outside of the device. The internal structure is still aluminum. The titanium frame has nothing to do with cooling
