You would not be annoyed when it started to get dark with the light shining all the time? A white screen in the car or a movie or elsewhere would be pretty bright. Maybe the screen would dim enough to counter that but then you have a new problem of it adjusting quick enough based on conditions. Just a thought.

The clock screen on my Apple watch is no brighter than my Luminox or my Traser. With the OLED screen there is no backlight so the only "light" is coming from the hands and the indices -- same as any other glow in the dark watch.

I was wearing a Pebble and it would vibrate upon losing its connection to the phone, which may have saved me from losing my iPhone. That would be a great feature on the Apple Watch.

Thought this would be standard already, and it's not? Is there not an app available if not?

I would like more watch faces, better battery life, and a red band for my Aluminum sports model. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with it.

Does it need GPS if it's normally paired to an iPhone though? GPS is a big battery drainer

I would like in built gps so I can use it to track runs properly without the need to carry my phone. As it is I find the Apple watch pretty poor for sports. I would like Apple to look at some of the market leaders in this field such as Garmin or Fitbit and see if they can improve things. Although the watch has terrific potential, the Apple health App is pretty poor compared to the competition.

I don't currently own the AW but I'm planning on getting one. I see the AW as something with great potential but serious limitations for now. Here is what I'd love to see.

1. Cellular connectivity. Yes, I would pay $5-$10 a month to a provider for the convenience of leaving my iPhone at home in certain situations. When I'm at the gym, when I go spend a day at the beach, when I'm out at a club or bar. This would literally be life changing and I do really hope that day comes down the road.

2. A Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp dedicated AW app. Allow me to respond and compose messages and initiate phone calls from the Watch itself.

3. Customizable watch faces.

4. Waterproof.

5. A Pocketcasts app that allows me to access and manage my podcast library.

I hope they allow you to open apps by tapping on the notification. If I receive several messages, it would be nice to just be able to open the messages app without having to leave notifications/pressing the crown/opening the app/finding the message

Wait, this sounds like a nightmare. You can't just tap an incoming notification to respond to it? This is universal of all text/email apps?

I wish it had Apple branded adapters available for purchase from Apple in the standard style AND a spring rod style.

I would be amazed if Apple went down this route with the money they must be making on bands. I'm with you though and would like it.

1. a conversation type notification when one person sends me multiple texts, not one notification for each text from the same person.

2. When a text comes up, have 3 buttons, one for voice reply, one for text reply and dismiss. That way I can quickly reply without having to first hit reply, then hit the microphone, then speak. Sounds silly, but on a watch, you want it to be as quick as possible.

3. A louder speaker

4. Customization of the side button. A triple click option, a double click option, single click option

5. A side swipe from left or right side of screen action. Instead of having the button be for friends, why not a side swipe from the watch face be friends? That way my single click can pull up an app I use often.

Just a few ideas/suggestions I would love to see.

Battery Life
By far the biggest issue - you solve this and you solve a whole host of restrictions. A week would be nice, but just having enough for a weekend away without having to lug another charger would be good.

Wireless charging
Not what we have now. Make a pad that I can drop the watch on that sits on my bedside table. Same pad to charge my phone. Longer term I expect to see house-wide wireless power where it will charge from just being in the house and so long as I return home regularly, I never have to worry about charging. I'm sure they are looking at this for a future model.

GPS
I am guessing that this is tied to battery life. Time for some Apple magic to work out how to make this work. Health tracking for running/biking should get better and it goes a long way in letting you exercise without having to attach a heavy phone to yourself.

Waterproof
This will be difficult while keeping a microphone and speaker, but this is a wishlist, not a solution list. :) Id like to be able to shower and swim and have my swimming tracked. Id also like it to detect being submerged and begin tracking swimming automatically. My dive watches can do it, as can some of the other fitness trackers.

More health sensors
The biggest would be blood pressure. Can you even do that through a watch? Not sure, but Id still like it. Other than that, sleep tracking would be nice (which needs battery life >1 day if I wont have it on the charger at night).

Adjustable screen time out
With wrist-raise, the screen often times out before I am done reading it, so I get to do a weird looking wrist flick to get it back. I have 60% battery life at the end of the day, so I could have it last much longer without affecting my battery life. Make it an option to adjust the timeout.

More Apple Pay
The watch does this fine already, but I dont/cant use it often. Partner with few companies - Subway for example, where I pay every week but their card terminal is behind the counter. Get their head office to push out terminals that are in front of the customer and have the APay logo on them and have all their staff go through a video training so they are aware when someone wants to use it. Then move on to the next common place - panda express, boston market. Im sure Apple would prefer retail stores with bigger transactions, but I use these places every week. They could use more coverage at this point.

turning Silent mode on watch also activates Silent mode on iPhone? real pain in the arse having to silence watch and phone separately when in work, have my watch 2 weeks and still keep forgetting that its not 'quiet"!!

So I recently got into biking. I use exercise app to keep track of my progress. I think it does a pretty good job of doing it. Here is one thing that bothers me the most. When I'm riding, I wish I could just glance at the watch while my hand is on the handle bars and see how many miles I biked or calories burned, or my heart rate. Unfortunately screen is turned off, so I have to lift my arm up. Even when I lift my arm up to turn the screen on, it doesn't always come on. Sometime I have to do it 2-3 times before it does. This is one feature that bothers me while biking. Another thing that I noticed, kinda doesn't have to do with this topic, but when exercising digital crown gets sticky due to sweat.

I want swim tracking from apple's first party workout app. I'm on a swim team as well as im a lifeguard so this would be amazing.

Alarm when disconnected from your iPhone, today I left my iPhone in my car and when I checked my watch for the time I noticed the little red disconnect symbol on the upper level of the watch face. I would prefer an alarm for this reason

If I could respond to Whatsapp and Facebook messages without using my phone, that would be awesome. That's pretty much all that is lacking for me.

Still on fence about getting a watch. What do owners who've had there's a while now wish it had? Or what do you think is really missing from it?

Software features may come in the future, but still please put them in to.

Anything that needs adding hardware wise? Looking at them I'd prefer thinner definitely, but probably a few generations away yet.

Although Apple will bring out new ones regularly, I'm wondering if not as regularly as iPhones.

Thanks

4G Data connection. 3G even.

Definitely need this, I would have hoped Apple would have added this by now, I know there's an app but apparently it's a bit buggy, would rather an inbuilt app.

Again agree, why can't WhatsApp build this? Is it an Apple restriction? Hate just getting a WhatsApp notification, then having to get phone out to read it, without even having option of that and replying.

What would this so? Apart from calls and data? People will have a reason, I just can't think for me why. Screen too small to do a lot, so only thing I can think is to keep calls without the iPhone, but then would need a headset as speaker/mic only good in certain quiet places
My wish is have a setting that move all notifications back to your iPhone when you want too.
When/why in what situation? Turn off the watch then all do anyway?

Cheers
