What would this so? Apart from calls and data? People will have a reason, I just can't think for me why. Screen too small to do a lot, so only thing I can think is to keep calls without the iPhone, but then would need a headset as speaker/mic only good in certain quiet places

When/why in what situation? Turn off the watch then all do anyway?
Cheers

That's like saying "what would an engine do if you put it on your glider apart from letting it fly on it''s own"..... Seriously....

I've had the Galaxy Gear S for more than a year. The benefits of this are obvious. Basically, you can go let go of the smartphone in even more situations. I often use this as my phone, speaker and all. But even if you use a bluetooth headset, isnt that what Apple wants you to do with even your iphone? When I go biking or hiking, just the watch.

The benefits are obvious. The mean reason the device doesnt have it right now, Apple's adherence to "design thinking", in which the incrementally build up. But really there is no need for all that "crawl before you walk" in this case. The benefits of a full connectivity on this thing are huge. Already.

At the moment Apple is only being saved by the fact that Samsung is so clueless that they cripple this thing and hanstring it with bad OS choices.

But honestly the number one thing the Apple Watch should have is the ability to not need an iphone in the first place. The mindset of "tether to phone" is just too slow paced. And will cost a lot of people a lot of money that are currently buying intentionally hollowed out smartwatches.

I only wish it wasn't held together by glue. How to change it, though, I have no good ideas.

Should be easy if you ask me... though easy for me to say. Screws to lock it down. Fine to have the glue or similar, but you lock it down with screws. Apple is famous for screws. Come on Apple :)

The back may be easy, but the face has Force Press, which uses a pressure strip around the border sandwiched between two layers of adhesive. It has to be compressible under fingertip pressure to work (right?), and I don't see how it can be securely screwed together without also constantly squeezing the sensor.

i personally would like to see a slimmer improved case design, a second generation more advanced Heart Rate Sensor that is capable of gathering more advanced data as well as a new set of sensor/s such as a Blood Oxygen Level sensor as one example, a higher resolution screen would have been nice too as the current screen isn't that high in resolution when viewing up close.

Blood pressure info. Not sure you can get that info from a wrist reading but BP info would be great.

Alarm when disconnected from your iPhone, today I left my iPhone in my car and when I checked my watch for the time I noticed the little red disconnect symbol on the upper level of the watch face. I would prefer an alarm for this reason

"virtual leashs" are not feasible with current bluetooth as they only relies on rssi (signal strength) measurement and it's not reliable enough (for a same physical distance, rssi will vary upon environment / signal reflections etc...) and you would end up with a ton of in-range / out of range notifications.

It will be feasible and very precise with BT 5.1 (or later, as it's still being worked on) but will require new hardware.

I just want the ability to play all music audio through the speaker, yes the sound will be crap but it would be nice to have.

Even if that was a possibility, that would obliterate the battery. Especially given your playing music through the Apple Watch and using the speaker with the audio increased to even hear it properly, I don't think it would manage the battery life very well in that current situation.

Not True - for example you can play Music on the speaker of the Samsung Gear S and it doesn’t die the next minute.

That's not what I posted at all and your example isn't appropriate. And We are not comparing the Samsung Gear S to the Apple Watch either . And nor did I say the Watch would "die the next minute." But if you're playing music consistently with the Watch volume increased to audibly here the music, AND other functions of the Apple Watch are operating (Wifi, heart rate, applications, etc), that will indeed stress the battery rather quickly and easily.

I’m saying there are devices out there in the real world which prove that this one doesn’t NEED to be crippled in this matter. So yeah we’re going to compare.

It’s my device, I should be free to use the functions how I want.

You took my Post completely out of context when you said it would "Die in the next minute" and nor was I even relating to Android wear. Furthermore, no one is telling you how to youse your device otherwise, and I have idea why you would mention that. My points were valid in addressing the battery life deteriorating with the use of audio playback using the Speaker and other functionalities at the same time. The Apple Watch isn't efficient enough to for that type of usage.

I think it's kind of ridiculous I need to have a 3rd party complication to see my step count so that's probably #1 on my list. Next would probably be a slimmer design but that's not a huge issue.
