One of the other users who experienced this said it was a loss prevention issue. Maybe the address changed at the last minute and UPS had it flagged to be sent back. They got it corrected. So if you changed your address of where its to be shipped then there ya go, but if you didn't... then ???

No, I didn't do anything like that. The rep said that they saw no issues with the account or associated with the order.

Nothing changed on my order since I ordered it on the 10th. The representative (and their manager) saw no reason billing or account wise on why it would happen. I'm leaning towards a defective batch since I'm not the only one. But who knows. About to call again to see if there is an update on it from Apple's side.

Unfortunately mine has already departed PA for CA though :(

Mine too has departed for PA to CA. Same watch model and almost the same timestamp as yours. Apple told me it was UPS and UPS says that it's Apple. They can't decide who's issue it is. The one thing I do know is that they've charged for a watch that's not headed to me and they can't give me an estimated delivery date because they're shipping it around the country. Ridiculous!

Yup! Just talked to Apple again. Last night they opened a "shipping investigation" to see what occurred. Said I should get a call or email from them later today once they figure it out. But their plan at the moment is to wait for it to get to CA (which won't happen until Monday because they shipped it UPS select sigh), and then reship it back to me. So I'm looking at the middle/end of next week now.

Same story here. As I told them, my issue isn't when I get it but the fact that they charged me and it's not being sent to me. We're basically financing them as they send the watch through their supply chain. To add insult to injury they can't give us any visibility into why or when we can expect delivery. That's normally fine, but given that they've charged us -- it's unacceptable. At this point we own a watch that's flying around the country and that they can't give any indication of when we'll be receiving it.

Yea, I mean if I still get it before EOD on the 8th it meets their window. But I'm already out the $750 with no product in site or an explanation. Guess I'm stuck waiting for them to call me now.

True, but the "policy" is to only charge the customer when the product is shipped to them and when they can provide a tracking number. What's odd is that it's been shipped, charged, and redirected without any insight into why or when we'll be receiving it. May not make a difference to some but I don't like the fact that they aren't providing any insight on a product that at this point I've paid for an own. Just saying... kind of amateur on their part.

Yea, my guess is UPS error, or recall of a batch from higher up that did not make support aware of what is going on. Or they just don't want to admit to that. If that is the case I doubt will ever get an explanation besides sorry, it'll get there in another week or two.

True. Let me know how yours goes, and I'll be sure to do the same.

We're basically talking about a whole pallet of Apple Watches that got put on a truck on their way to CA. They should be able to instruct the truck to stop off at the next UPS center and drop it off!

You are assuming they actually want them delivered.

----------

One thing I just noticed, my support profile lists an Apple Watch, however it shows one with a steel link band. I would have anticipated the profile showing the actual band ordered, since the other support profile images are all accurate down to color/size. Any one else have insight into that? Maybe it was the wrong one shipped.

UPS trucks run on specific schedules to get from point a to point b by a specific time. There is no time to alter the path on long hauls. They are not going to make a whole truck late and have those packages miss their destinations and connections over a few.

talked to apple support and she didn't have an answer so I asked to speak to her manager and he said he is assuming responsibility for my order and is looking into it and will call me by 4pm today on april 30th, and couldn't tell me much more other than that apple did not request it to be sent back. called ups and they said that apple did request it, couldn't tell me why and referred me back to apple. This is just crazy! the apple manager I spoke to said maybe there is something they could do to compensate me for the mishap, but I don't know what that means, I don't want a 5 dollar iTunes gift card credit! I want my watch!!

Returned to sender

Mine was in same boat, they told me they are looking into it, support profile page did show wrong watch for me as well so maybe the orders got mixed up?

There is another thread about a SS classic buckle arriving with a black sports band today, maybe there has been a big mix up on bands in that shipment?

I mentioned this in another thread and joined today because I wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat, and indeed looks like I am not the only one.

42 BCB 4/24-5/8 delivery got shipment notification yesterday, and my package right now is in some kind of stasis.

Looks like whats going on is the classic buckle watches that were processed yesterday all have the wrong bands. Apple realized it, which is why the tracking says "Package in transit to UPS" because UPS doesn't have them. Some have updated with a RETURN TO SENDER and others, like mine, are just in limbo. Looks like yours was actually delivered. You''ll notice the package weight is also off.

Add me to the list. 42 mm Space Gray. Same story. Got a shipping notice and a tracking number. UPS created a shipping label. They scanned it in and then it was leaving Harrisburg, PA. Then an hour later the Deliveries app notified me that the sender was requesting it to be returned. What really ticked me off was that they didn't even notify me about it.

I had put in a request to UPS to leave it at my local UPS center because I wasn't going to be home during the estimated delivery window UPS provided. At first I thought this was the issue, but when I posted this on another thread people replied that this is done a lot without issue. Apple's own Shipping Help page recommends as an option to call the local center and pick it up there if you miss the first delivery attempt. The fact that other people are suddenly reporting this and that they pulled these off many pallets in transit, thereby disrupting thing for UPS, and are shipping them all back to a warehouse in CA makes me now think this is some kind of recall. If these are defective then we are better off waiting another week. (Or it could just be a band screw-up. Apple will never admit to any of this so we may never know. )

I called Apple as well last night. The nice lady on the other end was totally perplexed. She called UPS and after some on-hold consultation with others, she said she would reship it back to me but she couldn't do anything till it got back to California. Maybe they are going to swap them out there and then reship new ones.

If anyone finds out what is going on, please post here.

I suspect a Chinese Worker revolt, packaging watches at random to raise awareness.

Did anyone find a hand-written note in their watch?

Sounds to me like those watch's are part of the bad taptic feedback batch and were recalled not by Apple itself but by the Manufacturer. Could explain why Apple reps. didn't know anything.

I simply can not believe this level of incompetency, are you guys sure you ordered your watch from apple and not from "Dollar Tree"?

I would be hulk level pissed!
