Looks like they are processing mine as a returned item now instead of reshipping the original. Guessing it was defective or wrong product.

Edit: It just updated with a ship by June date, are you kidding me?

It would seem that the reason Apple reps don't know anything about this because their access level prevents them from knowing anything.

I would imagine this kind of request that seems to have affect more than a few orders came from higher up in the company, something the call center reps wouldn't have visibility to.

If this is due to some sort of issue with the watches themselves, Apple isn't going to come out and say that to you over the phone.

wow. My status shows nothing like that. Did you call up Apple? What do they have to say about THAT?!

This morning they said they'd get back in touch later today, going to wait a little bit before calling in to see if they reach out to me.

Called, got transferred to an Alexandria who is "handling the order" according to the first person I talked to. I recall seeing this ladies name mentioned before in previous threads when people were having issues, not sure if she is just handling general PR or actually dealing with specific order issues. Unfortunately got her voicemail and did not get to talk to her.

I'd advise everyone to click on the Print Invoice option on that screen before they try to recast it as a Returned item so you have all the information at your disposal should you need to raise hell if your new ship date lapses into June. That includes the serial number of the product for which you were charged, when you were charged, and how much, customer number, order number.

In another thread someone got a watch with the wrong band. Box said Black Classic Buckle and instead was a Black Sport Band.

Perhaps they realized this and are recalling all those affected

Unfortunately, it looks like we have no rights. Apple can at its discretion cancel an order even after it has been billed and simply refund the money. So basically even if we have already been billed if they say your watch is now coming in June and we protest, they can always just cancel the order.

"Apple may, in its sole discretion, refuse or cancel any order and limit order quantity. Apple may also require additional qualifying information prior to accepting or processing any order. Once we receive your Online or Call Center order, we’ll provide you with an email order confirmation. Your receipt of an order confirmation, however, does not signify Apple’s acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell; we are simply confirming that we received your order. The Apple Store reserves the right at any time after receiving your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. If Apple cancels an order after you have already been billed, Apple will refund the billed amount."

This whole ordering ordeal is really souring me on finishing the order. Alexandra tried calling back but just let it go to voice mail, and she is just a PR person apparently. I can't understand how Apple handled this whole thing so poorly.

You should be upset no doubt, I still at disbelief, poorly management.

I hope all gets resolved as you deserve.

Good news

OK GOOD NEWS.

This is for the Return to Sender issue.

I just received a phone call from a representative on behalf of Tim Cook himself. (I had sent a letter to him last night complaining about this.) Long story short, Apple is aware of the problem. They still feel this is happening on UPS's end. They are sending replacement watches with a 5-7 day (probably business day) delivery date to all people affected. Your account may report a later shipping date (a la June) but this is a quirk of the Online Apple Store and does not reflect the true shipping date. She promised emails until the situation is resolved. She said Tim Cook is aware of the situation and that this has been "interesting" - they have never encountered this before (my paraphrasing).

Part of her email follow up: "Thank you for bringing your concern to our attention and taking the time to speak with me today! As discussed, I will set up a replacement and will keep you posted on the progress of the situation." She also gave me her number and email address, telling me I could contact her any time.

While this delay is disappointing, I feel better that they are trying to rectify the situation. And, hey, Tim Cook really does read his email. :)

Update:
Just received a new shipping notification!

What kind of shipping is on your new one? Mine is still processing.

I'm sorry. I misspoke. It's an email order confirmation, not a shipping notification. It says shipping in "June" but it's by Next Day Shipping. I'm guessing it will actually hit UPS early next week and be here by the end of the week, keeping within the 5-7 day range she promised. The charge says $0.00.

And I just received a second email charactering the first order as a Return Request. Whatever this all means I'm confident that I'll have a watch by mid to late next week.

Ah, yea I received the confirmation and return email a few hours ago. Kind of annoyed we are stuck waiting for one to return that we never had possession of, not sure why they won't just ship the replacement today overnight.

Waiting

I am still waiting for new email, did the lady you spoke to offer anything for your trouble and patience in this situation

No. And frankly sending replacements does allow for the idea that there was something wrong with the originals. I doubt it had to do with a loss protection action because some of us had redirected the destination to a UPS CC in order to pick up the watches at our convenience. Maybe, but I doubt it. And I wish they would overnight these right away but they may be constrained and this is the best their inventory will allow. It is a pain, but you've got to choose your battles in life and I'm willing to let this go knowing that the watch is coming. I doubt we'll see a repeat of this (but I will just let the UPS guy make a failed delivery attempt rather than mess with trying to send it to the UPS CC - I'll just call them and go down there that evening).

I think as long as it gets here by EOD next Friday for the original quoted delivery window there isn't anything we can do besides be mildly annoyed. Sucks to get excited but we haven't really been wronged. Just very confused/annoyed with lack of communication from Apple's side.

After taking more time to read into it, my watch replacement was cancelled, and the return request for the original one that was sent was also cancelled. My tracking has some status about UPS intercept occurring, really no idea what they are doing at this point.

"We've requested a UPS Proactive Response intercept for this package."

I didn't get a replacement order added to my account, but mine is still on it's merry way to Elk Grove, CA.

So I got an email this morning that changes to my order have been made. Went to apple store and order looks the same. Went onto ups and my original UPS tracking says "We've requested a UPS Proactive Response intercept for this package." So I guess what they are doing is finding the package and intercepting it to send it back to me?

So far my watch has traveled more than me...
China->Anchorage, AK
Anchorage, AK->Lousisville, KY
Louisville, KY->Harrisburg, PA - At this point return to sender kicked in...
Harrisburg, PA->Louisville, KY
Louisville, KY-> Mather,CA
Mather, CA -> West Sacramento, CA
West Sacramento, CA -> Elk Grove, CA

No changes to my order. Looks like our watches are taking a ride together to CA!!! The big unknown is how long they will "sit" in CA for them to figure out what's going on... Let's just hope Apple miraculously gets their sh*$ together and resolves this ASAP!
