I’ll have to wait until sometime in the future to check out the speed because my BestBuy order has been saying “being prepared” for the longest.
My wife and daughter now have my series 0 and my sons series 0 watches. Both are quick, work well and were never slow. The s4 is a nice upgrade but was nothing mind blowing, except maybe the screen as that is nice.
Watch the iPhone XS smoke the iPhone 4 in speed comparisons. Think we all kind of knew the older models wouldn’t preform as well as the newer models....just sayin
I have to call BS on this video. There is something wrong with the Apple watch Series 0. Mine has NEVER taken 5 minutes to boot.
I decided to test it with my Series 0. My watch cold booted in almost half that time - 2:45.
Something stinks.

Same here. I’m glad I held off last year because I can better appreciate the improvements that have come since S1. The screen size alone makes a world of a difference. And everything is so fast.
Who knew the Watch would turn out to be such a sleeper hit.
Meh, since there is no all ceramic version I’ll pass.
I went from Series 0 to Series 3 since it had phone capabilities. That was a big enough difference to warrant a change for me.
Series 4 feature set is not enough of a difference. ECG is beyond niche.
Blood glucose and ketone levels would have been more useful to a lot more people.

This highlights the stupidity of the first real gold Apple Watch Edition that started at $10,000 and went up to $17,000. How stupid does one have to be to spend so much money on something that will be outperformed by the cheapest Apple Watch the very next year, and massively outperformed by the cheapest Apple Watch a few years after that?
Yes, I'm not debating that. Of course the 4th gen should be MUCH faster. I'm looking forward to getting mine.
I'm just pointing out that my series 0 boots in half the time they claim. That video is misleading.
Coming from my Series 0 it's night and day for me. The Series 4 feels like a totally different product and since having it on launch day I am using it far more often than I thought because it's so much faster. Everything I open is pretty much instant, previously with my 0 I ended up just doing stuff on my phone rather than waiting.
This guy has an amazing ability of stating the obvious.
I suspect it’s padding to make posts and videos longer.

You know the series 4 is just 0.2mm thicker than the 0 right?
Strangely I find my Series 4 looks thinner....I'm not sure if it's because it seems to sit lower on my wrist due to the bottom of the watch shape changing.
This is pretty incredible...especially since the original watch came out in 2015, not too long ago

Yeah, I realise there is a bees Johnson in difference, but I’m sticking to my guns on this one.
This is why I say never buy Apple products. Because the next version will always smoke the older version you have !
And a teleportor would be so much better than a car, but let’s get real. The tech isn’t there for glucose and ketones for a variety of reasons including those tests require reagents. The screen and speakers was achievable and makes the 3 look limp. No way I could go back.
I initially got confused by the series names mentioned in this article. First, series 1, series 2, series 3 and series 4 were mentioned. Then, boot up times were mentioned for series 0, series 1, series 2, and series 4. I get that 2 refers to the third generation if we view it in terms of iteration starting with the number zero, but there’s no consistency in its usage in this article. What are the actual names?

Maybe the video neglected to say that the series 0 was using the original watchOS.
Quick question -- does anyone know whether any of the WatchOS versions limit the performance to protect the battery, like the iphone did? My Series 0 is really slow (much slower than it used to be). Or is that just OS bloat?

Opening the camera is one example for me of OS updates really crippling older hardware. When I first got my Apple Watch (series 0) yeah, opening apps was slow, including the camera, but after it opened it worked. Now after it opens I have to wait forever for the picture to show up. Another example is the scribble typing - I was amazing how smooth, speedy and reliable this was when it was new, it’s far worse now.

For others expecting Oct. delivery, you might be surprised by an early delivery: mine wasn't even supposed to ship until October 5-12th. And, of note, its origin was Taiwan. Seems like they've already started up that second production line there.
