The 42mm Stainless Steel Apple Watches are moving out to customers. Most of them are shipping with the BSB (most popular fluoroelastomer band). As far as I can see, no one, with the exception of the Apple stores and Tim Cook, has received a Stainless Steel Link Band. And no one has yet posted that their watch is shipping with the SS LB. Clearly the Link Band is the weak link (pun intended) in Apple's roll out of this new product.

This is usually the time of night when somebody tells us how many potential planes full of watches are streaming towards the U.S.A.

I miss those. They help me sleep at night, dreaming of link bracelets. :p

I count links to help me fall asleep at night!

My bad. Link band coma tonight. 5 on the way that won't contain our watches.

Hooray! Thanks!

Sweet dreams everyone, and remember - most of us will sleep less than 9 hours, which is what it takes to make each of the spectacular bracelets we will hopefully have by Thanksgiving. :D

One can only hope... :)

You guys are great. Good night all.

As much as I would've liked to have my watch this week, it seems very unlikely at this point. We have all of tonight and all of tomorrow to get notifications for Friday delivery but that just seems too rushed.
Let's start setting our sights for next week. We will probably start getting notifications or some idea of what's going on after this weekend. Maybe we can get some watches earlier than the 13th. Friday May 8th is a possibility maybe even Wednesday the 6th, but that's as early as we could logically get 'em.
If we don't see deliveries next week, then we would have to see notifications and bank acct movement on Thursday-Monday for Wednesday (13th of May) delivery.
This is what makes sense the most to me.

I can't cancel my order or change any info I guess this is a sign my order is gunna come quicker then I expected

UPDATE: The SS Link Bracelet WAS the weakest link....until the Taptic Engine issue just surfaced. I'm still waiting for two things.
#1. Why hasn't the press picked up on the absence of Apple SS Watches shipping with the SS Link Bracelets.
#2. Reports of the first shipment of an Apple SS Watch with SS Link Bracelet.
Who's up for giving a reward for the first sighting of an actual SS Link Bracelet shipped to a valid Apple pre-order consumer (not a celebrity)?

I don't think we're the only ones. I don't think any leather loops have shipped either.

We're not going to know why Apple's decided to fulfill ours further down the chain.

I don't think the press has anything to pick up on. I mean it would be a headline of "Apple doesn't ship what they're not yet supposed to". I get being annoyed that the first shipping window for the links was in may, but they told you it was going to come then. So not really anything to be upset about.

I think most of us in this thread have completely come to terms with this and are enjoying the wait with each other.

You are absolutely correct.

Just updated the thread title to make it clear that the watch is with the link bracelet...didn't know I had to "advanced edit".

I myself am a little frustrated that these particular models didn't start delivering on 4/24, but I can live with the 4-6 week estimate. Not a big deal. They did tell us this from the start.

Ordered a link bracelet separately from my SS WSB, (because it showed a April 29th-may 12 time frame instead of a longer one if I ordered with the watch )
At 3:02 EAstern time. Got my watch on the 24th, no news from the bracelet.
We're now the 30th, wasn't delivered yesterday. Order still processing...
I guess it will be more end of the time frame (may 12th) than beginning.

Well at least I have a watch ;)

I'm still waiting for someone to explain why the taptic engine issue would affect our receiving the link bracelets but not the other, easier to obtain SS models.

Everything is conjecture. We presume Apple did the other models as they were more popular. Apple's hitting the dates that they've given to people. Everyone's just bitching because they haven't gotten them early.

There is no logical explanation that could possibly support that.

May 13 - 27th delivery window. If we get past that I'll start being "that guy" :)

That makes no sense. Why would it affect the link bracelets more than the other, easier to obtain SS models?

It's clear that you know nothing about logistics or mass production of products. Please take your negativity somewhere else - yes, I've seen some of your other negative comments on here, and we don't need that.

We're just talking about possibilities - and the taptic engines are a very distinct possibility if the engines from one manufacturer were intended for this product line.

At this point no one outside Apple knows the real reason. So, let's just all sit back and enjoy each other's company with civil discussions while we wait.
