I use control center all the time, I love it being the side button. How about they let give us our side button back. Why they moved control center (something I don’t even use) to the side button and removing the ability to have a favorites dock is beyond me. Feels like this years OS’s updates have been worse.
Yes, they should have gotten rid of it but it should have been done with a configuration like this so you could switch back. It was always frustrating to the rest of us that our watch faces would frequently change to a different face with just an accidental swipe while putting on a jacket. I ended up deleting all other watch faces to stop this. I only added another face when this was fixed in Watch OS 10.I can’t believe it came to this.
Should’ve never got rid of it.
What catch up? This was a feature in pre-10 Watch OS but it caused problems for some people, so Apple changed to a two step process. Now they are giving us the option for an easy change or a two-step change.Glad to see Apple catching up with the Pixel Watch. This "feature" has been on Pixel Watch since day 1
Settings > Clock > Swipe to Switch Watch FacesWhere is this elusive feature located????
It’s an option so just don’t enable the swipe-to-change option and nothing will change for you. Please don't!!! So many times I would look down, and see some other face. Where I had accidentally swiped.
Thank you!Settings > Clock > Swipe to Switch Watch Faces
Julian – calling to mind a few examples of previous defaults which eventually became user-facing choices, I don't think it's a change of attitude at Apple. I can understand the stance that other companies make so many things settings that the "80 percent" find them too complicated or aren't aware of the settings they'd actually want, so I think Apple exercises a lot of caution before "promoting" something to be one, and even their iOS and macOS "Settings" apps have a lot of settings. I'm just glad they finally decided that swiping to change the watch face qualified. This is fantastic news. Is it also signalling a bit of a change of attitude at Apple?
I was right there with you after the release, as apparently were others. Keep it up, I say.I am so pleased that Apple actually listened to users. I gave my feedback when testing the first beta but didn’t expect anything to change. Thank you Apple.
Absolutely. It's the first time with the Watch that I've had the feeling of a device beginning to forget its identity.I mean, the true black backgrounds for the apps looked way better on the display. Now the apps are too colorful and battery consumption obviously is higher.
This calls to my mind other companies' systems and apps that make so many things options, even to the point of exposing lengthy files, that setting them feels akin to manually doing taxes or something. That's great for enthusiastic nerds like me, but I know that doesn't describe plenty of Apple's customers, so I can understand the predilection for pronounced caution before "promoting" something to a setting. They do ultimately promote many things like this gesture, and I'm glad it was one that made it.Not sure why I’m being downvoted here. Options means you can have it either way. Seems like a win-win to me.

Because it was too easy to accidentally switch watch faces. Many of us were frustrated to look down and find the wrong watch face showing as a result of a casual brush against something. I frequently had to change my watch faces after putting on a coat. In Watch OS 10, Apple changed it to require a long press before you could swipe to change the face. That seems to have been a problem for some. Now they have created a setting that lets users choose one or the other behavior to satisfy both groups of users. Why was it removed?
Well, technically they didn't change it, just removed the quick method, as the long press method was always available as it's the setup mechanism too of course.Because it was too easy to accidentally switch watch faces.
