  • Side swipe for changing Faces.
  • Bring back + Sign on workout menu so you add a new workout, fast
  • Music app for workout is buggy, it lost track of resuming playback from previous workout
  • Play Next Music list is hidden under AirPods menu, it's dumb
  • Remove the Music files storage limit. 32/64GB of storage is useless if you can't keep all the music you want.

Bring back everything as it used to on WatchOS 9. No need to change just for the sake of change.

How about also adding ability to pin your favourite workouts? Why it seems to randomise them all for years confuses me. Yes totally off topic :)

How about they let give us our side button back. Why they moved control center (something I don’t even use) to the side button and removing the ability to have a favorites dock is beyond me. Feels like this years OS’s updates have been worse.
You know you can get to the dock by double clicking the digital crown, right?

To me, this brings the gesture more in line with the home button on iPhones (before iPhone X) where double clicking the home button brings up multitasking

But double tapping the crown will bring up the apps dock before go to app switcher. It annoys me because it feels unpolished and confusing.

hey Apple you can solve this easily by adding a haptic vibration when forcing the screen in the side and also an animation like the news iPhone airdrop animation but quicker so people understand their watch is swiping trough different faces. Your welcome.

Best thing about this is not even that the swipe is back, but that Apple seem to back-track some of these idiotic changes (just for the sake of changing). Hopefully more to come

Unpopular option but the push side button for control center is stupid!!! What happened in the watch team? Like a new team came in and made unnecessary changes? I’d understand it if it wasn’t a swipe for all the rest of the devices but it’s always been a swipe. At least make it a customizable option.
…its makes a huge difference when using your watch in a pool / ocean. Probably that is what they are trying to solve here. Swipe doesn’t work when there is liquid on the screen

Double click the wheel and you have your favorites. I only wish I could ‘lock’ the favorites like in OS 9

Also Id love for Apple to fix whatever they ruined with the Weather app.

I got my mom an apple watch that she's has loved for years (series 4 and now series 7), and she was so disappointed in the new Weather update in WatchOS10. She stopped wearing it for a good 2 weeks. I dont have an apple watch so im not exactly sure what was removed or changed, but she would love to have it fixed.
I love the new weather app! I don’t understand the dislike…
You may be the only one! 😝 For less advanced users, accidental watch face changes were a source of confusion and frustration. I think the watchOS 10 default behavior is correct from a usability perspective, but I'm glad the option to swipe through faces is returning. I used it all the time. Less so now with the widget card display from the crown though.
This! Just a quote to give this comment double appreciation👍🏼

This is fantastic news. Is it also signalling a bit of a change of attitude at Apple? In the past I’ve had the feeling that Apple has not liked offering options to change behaviour but instead has taken something of an “our way is best so this is the way it works and you can’t change it” attitude to a lot of stuff but here Apple hasn’t only bought back the swipes but has made that functionality optional. I did see a few commenters happy about the removal of the face-change swipes because they often accidentally changed watch faces. With a user configurable option everyone is happy.

The option I would really like to see now is the ability to disable the long press on a watch face to edit it. I never had any issues with accidentally changing my watch face with an unintended swipe but I very frequently accidentally go into watch face edit mode when I’m reading an ebook curled up on the sofa and resting my hand and wrist on my leg. Once I have my watch faces set up I never change them and if I ever do I can easily do it from my phone so I would definitely disable the long-press-to-edit gesture on my watch if I could.

Thank god!! This has been the worst update ever. They totally screwed up the Apple Watch. Side swipe to change watch faces, changing the buttons around to someone barely anyone uses and also the end workout button change. Do they know nothing about muscle memory and not to change what works. Can’t believe the horrendous choices they made to completely mess up everyone’s watch!

Thank god for that. As others say, please also remove Smart Stack: It’s utterly redundant and does nothing better than a watch face can do.

I mean this isn't true and all depends on which watchface you have.

Then again I do feel they'd have been better going with full screen widgets that could show more information rather than the half height ones they went with.

great to see this back. it makes such a difference. ive just activated it, and instantly swiped to see snoopy.

Watch OS is worse in a bunch of ways. The fitness summary now requires scrolling through 6 tabs to get what was smoothly visible on one previously. The control center being moved to a button - what a waste. The only improvement was the weather app. My watch now shows songs and playlists on my iPhone even when off wifi and running 5 miles away....no way I can play them just show me what I downloaded to the watch! Just absurd stuff.
Yes, very much absurd, especially the fitness summary. Instead of sticking with information rich and data dense, they went with information poor and data minimalism.

I have issues with podcasts too on the Watch. Instead of playing downloaded podcasts sometimes, the Watch might play podcasts from the phone even when I select episodes specifically in the Download section.

Can they increase the sizes of the widgets and watch faces as they were before? I know it's only milimetric changes but I immediately noticed as soon as I updated to the watchOS10... We have almost borderless displays on the latest models but we have this huge black space around which is unused screen real estate...

This change bothered me as an end user but now it also bothers me as someone who has been coaching agile teams for many years. Why make this change without doing some UI research with end users first? If they did, then something went badly wrong. How did it get to production release when presumably there was plenty of feedback from the betas that this was not popular? Overall this leads me to be concerned for the effectiveness of the team.

I’m still on WatchOS 9 because of the dock so I never lost the swipe gesture anyways

I like having this as an option. Would really like them to bring back the weekly cumulative total of steps and distance, no idea why they would remove this? Also time travel thing (but I know that’s never coming back)
