WatchOS 2 beta?

I'm just curious if watchOS 2 will actually improve the responsiveness of the Apple Watch. I can't stand waiting 10+ second for a glance to update, or watching the spinning circles for an uncomfortable amount of time while waiting for the Weather app to load/update. I mean, that completely defeats the purpose of the convenience. I could've already pulled out my phone, opened the app, and checked it there.

And of course this only happens when speed is important

I'm gonna install it tonight and see how it goes.

Just an FYI - you'll need to unpair and repair your watch and start as a new watch. Or all apps will be broken. Third party and some of the pre installed ones (Weather). I did a clean setup after the upgrade and things seemed to be happier.

Did you have to register your Watch's UDID?

Edit: just saw your reply, that's good news thank you :)

I reckon UDID activation companies are just telling us this to get extra money out of us

My phone is registered in our developer account. Its just the watch that isn't. I _think_ that is what the instructions are telling you to register. Its written poorly though. I couldn't tell. So I went ahead and tried it without registering the watch. If you have a developer account, maybe its better to be safe.

yeah my phone is registered too. i don't get why you would have to add the watch because it runs through your phone for updates

I have a developer account, I just don't have a Mac. The only way to get the Watch's UDID is by pairing it, via bluetooth, to a Mac and opening Xcode

What made me confused was this document and how it was saying to register your device. But it's clear now.

Have registered my udid and installed the profile to iPhone and says up to date still on software update says 1.01 and not 2

You need to visit the developer site on your iPhone and download the Configuration Profile. Add the certificate to your watch and iPhone, reboot, and check for updates.

After you install on your Phone, open the profile again on your phone, and this time, choose install on Watch. Under the Watch app go to general...software update. You should now see watchOS 2. Hope this helps.

I keep getting this error. I updated to 9.0 already. Restarted watch, no fix. Now restarting phone...

Install iOS9 (must have UDID of iPhone registered; no need to register Watch UDiD)
Email configurator profile to email address on phone.
Open profile attachment from email on phone.
When it asks you where you want it installed, choose PHONE first.
Restart iPhone
Open profile email attachment again.
This time, install on Watch.
Restart Watch.
Open Watch app on iPhone...general...update.

Wait, what... Really? That's annoying. I don't want to go through and set everything up again... :(

Remember that this is beta 1. If you're concerned about this, then you might want to pass for now because there will be lots of annoying issues with the beta. They'll get them all ironed out before they release it.
