Haha this is hilarious, given how almost-unusable buggy 1.0 was, I wouldn't DREAM of putting this on my Watch until it ships, and maybe not even then for a few weeks. You guys are nuts.

But then my 3 year old would love the photo album watchface... (she loves to tap the butterflies away... photos would be even better)

And the time travel sounds brilliant, would make the calendar complication 10x more useful.

And don't get me started on how awesome 3rd party complications will be...

Yeah, I might just go google how much a dev account is, brb

Don't pay for a dev account to get this. Even with the beta Watch OS you won't be able to use third party complications until apps are released for Watch OS 2.0 and that won't happen until Watch OS 2.0 is released

$99 per year.

Just an FYI - you'll need to unpair and repair your watch and start as a new watch. Or all apps will be broken. Third party and some of the pre installed ones (Weather). I did a clean setup after the upgrade and things seemed to be happier.
Damn. My watch is showing weather for South Atlantic something. I don't want to add my credit cards to Apple Pay again. I guess I don't have any other choice but to unpair and repair:(.

Get ready to laugh at me. I was about 75% of the way through installing watchOS 2 and I accidentally force closed the Apple Watch companion app. Watch restarted and now has the red exclamation point of death. I have a genius appointment tomorrow... just my luck lol

How is the general speed/stability of watchOS 2, compared to 1.0.1? Is it worth updating to for stability reasons?

I've just started playing around with it and it's noticeably faster with apps and generally smoother. Instagram and Twitter for instance loads way faster. Like iPhone speeds (for twitter) less so for instagram

HOWEVER, there's an obvious weather bug that's causing it to not load and maps can't seem to find current locations. Almost seems like camera shutter app doesn't work either

There are neat little UI tweaks

EDIT: Weather and Camera apps finally loaded and now work fine. Still haven't trouble with current location. Weather glance is working with just first weather location but not maps glance and the weather complication is just giving me a wrong temperature

EDIT 2: the time-lapse face seems to be doing some crazy stuff where it's blasting through the entire day in a few seconds

EDIT 3: Heartrate readings (the manual ones) are much faster

EDIT 4: Siri is kind of a jumbled mess and works okay but may get faster like with previous stuff. New UI and still no location service which is so strange since my phone is fine. And contacts show up only as phone numbers not the name for messages.

EDIT 5: Maps location service works if I input a destination but the arrow button and glances still fail. So can't do sunset/sunrise complication either. Siri is faster though

EDIT: I've managed to get the complications working but the temperature is just off by 8 degrees and it's different for some faces? But it is definitely the correct city. Also sunrise/sunset is off by a minute? So weird.

I've read other people's saying it's taking a long time to install. Mine seems to be at about 80% and hasn't moved at all. It's been there for 20 minutes? No red exclamation point or anything. Watch app shows its on 2.0 and connected.

My first impression is that is pretty freakin terrible.

-can't seem to set up Apple Pay
-had one spontaneous reboot
-had to re-pair at first to get anything to work

Really? I didn't have to repair at all.

Still stuck in the same spot. Apple Watch is still showing its connected on my iPhone. The battery info in notification center updated a while ago to show it moved to 100%. Checking for update seems to time out though.

A third restart has fixed everything but the location issue for maps and siri

edit: broken again

when you tap to add a new card on Apple Pay in the watch app, it asks you to sign in. On mine, when I do, I get a Verification Failed (unknown error) message.

considering how many of the upgrades are based on apps, I'm sitting out the beta versions of this one. I've got iOS9 on my iPad Air 2 and that will be it for Beta 1s from this round for me.

just can't deal with apple teasing me with all these 'amazing' new features then telling me that i've got to wait months

I thought the same but I waited for two months to get the watch so it's par for the course I suppose to wait for OS2

I finally did a reset on the watch because the update hadn't moved. And with much anticipation I can report that my watch is finally updated!
