My emails still come through my Apple Watch.

Also make sure if you manually set up the email account that it is properly set up on your iPhone.

I walked with my watch during this beta, and I didn’t experience this issue. Perhaps you could send in some feedback on Feedback Assistant and share your thoughts? I would really appreciate it.
A single workout works - like if you do only walk, try adding a run workout during a workout - outdoor especially and the run distances start to become wrong, and subsequently any added workout is completely off.

Anyone else not got the water drop icon in control centre to lock the screen and eject water from the speaker?

Disappeared for me.
Mine disappeared until I added it back in.
Same here. It’s part of the new control center being customisable, in an earlier post I mentioned how y’all can do it.

Ima reiterate it:
On your Apple Watch, open control center by pressing the side button.
Scroll down to find the Edit button, tap on it. press the plus button at the top left of the screen and then in the list of controls head to settings and then press the add button (green button) on the water lock button. And voila it’s there again!

Morning, Apple Watch wearers.
Beta 2 is coming soon.

I hope in that beta battery life stabilises more, the liquid glass buttons and icons on apps are more aligned (cycle tracking app has the bottom button misaligned) and other bug fixes come our way.

Who else is in for beta 2? Do we hope Apple puts back the Watch faces that were deleted in this release?

Has anyone gotten workout buddy working? I don’t see the option to turn on in the workout app. (Running indoors or outdoors) I have English as my language

Yup works really well for me. I did have to restart the watch a couple of times for it to appear though.

If you’ve got an iPhone that’s got Apple Intelligence (like a 15 Pro, 16e, 16 Pro, or 16 on iOS 26 beta) and you’ve paired it with your Apple Watch, you’ll get a prompt to set up a workout buddy on your watch as soon as the beta update for watchOS 26 and iOS 26 is done on both devices.

First, you’ll need to download the voice and generative models with your iPhone and your Apple Watch. This should take a few minutes, similar to when you first activate Apple Intelligence or after a major update, or when you get a new Siri voice.

As of now, you can set up Workout Buddy for these following workouts: running, walking, functional/traditional strength training, HIIT, and hiking, whether you’re indoors or outdoors. But other activities like swimming, yoga, core training, or Pilates won’t have this feature, and if the workout you want is a fitness + one from the Fitness App, the trainer’s voice will play through the video on your iPhone, Apple TV or AirPods and Workout buddy is disabled on fitness+ videos.

Here’s how you can turn it on: https://appleinsider.com/inside/watchos-26/tips/how-to-train-smarter-with-workout-buddy-in-ios-26-watchos-26/amp/#:~:text=Open the Workout, and motivational message.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to enable Workout Buddy on your Apple Watch:

1. Open the Workout app on your Apple Watch.
2. Scroll down to find an applicable workout that includes voice prompts in the menu.

If your workout supports Workout Buddy, you’ll see a dialogue symbol on the button in the lower right corner. This button allows you to set your Siri voice feedback and view Workout Buddy settings for the workout.

3. Tap the button to open the Workout Buddy settings.

4. In the settings, you’ll see a switch that lets you turn Workout Buddy on or off.
incoming-90CF7220-A197-4C38-B128-FD68A2DC40A7.png

5. You can also select a Fitness+ trainer voice that your watch will use to create the text-to-speech feedback tailored to your workout. The different voices available include Sam Sanchez, Jamie-Ray, and others who specialize in Fitness+ Time to Run and treadmill workout videos. Customize the voices to suit your preferences.
6. Once you’ve customized the voices, exit the settings menu and start your workout.
7. Your trainer will greet you and provide information about splits, pace, and mileage if you’re running or walking. Your activity rings or other metrics in all supported workouts, you’ll also hear this information from the trainer voice.

(Note: A Fitness+ subscription is not required for this feature. It’s only required for audio only/video-less meditations and Time to Walk/Run podcast-based guided walking and running workouts.)

Late to the party but has anyone noticed the always on display has a quartz style second hand movement vs. no second hand at all in previous versions? Nice little touch. I'm not experiencing any bad battery life or bugs yet, knock on wood..Watch Series 10 Jet Black here.

Not seeing as much liquid glass on WatchOS though. It's there for notifications but not there at all for watch faces.

It should have it... even on more faces!

Everyone, install the 2nd beta it's out!

Beta 1 was pretty all right for me, Beta 2 has been the worst beta I've ever run. The watch faces (all of them) just crash over and over again.

The watch gets so hot it hurts on the wrist and it sucks battery so hard (no joke) I literally can't charge it. I left it on the puck for 2 hours and it gained only 3% charge.

Something is very wrong.

The infograph face looks exactly the same as it did in the Watch 4 and 5. I Kinda hoped there would be liquid glass elements used in the faces, and not just notification bubbles or control center.

App list looks the same as WatchOS 10. No sign of the new icons in WatchOS at all.

It didn't give me a prompt for either b1 or b2 (both Watch and iPhone 16 Pro). This is fine for me, I wasn't planning on using that feature.

Got it. Thanks for letting me know.

Agreeable, the glass time is simply an additional color you can add to the time displayed on the Apple Watch face. However, the lack of new, completely new watch faces is the downside of this update. You’re right, the Liquid Glass is just an aesthetic change on watchOS 26, unlike iOS and iPadOS 26.

The app list didn’t even change much; it’s still the same.

My Nike and California watch faces do constantly have that weird issue too. Complications would oftentimes disappear in and out.

It's even worse on tvOS. I thought the update had failed on my 4K 2nd Gen, but it just didn't change much at all. I noticed one icon, Settings, having a slightly different look but everything else looks exactly the same, including the Apple TV Settings itself, no sign of any liquid glass.

I’m having the same experience with beta 2 on watch and the phone. Watch charging very slow and getting very hot. I’m honestly not sure if the watch will even fully charge th away it’s going currently. Also based on my own experience and others in the iOS beta 2 thread. Having an Hermes watch paired with ios26 beta 2 crashes the watch app just as it starts. Ths watchOS and iOS beta combo (beta 2) is the worst I’ve seen in the many years of beta testing. I know it’s beta, but I wonder if taking the watch to the Apple Store they can do anything about it.

Reset both devices and reinstall production versions of their respective operating systems.

That’s it. That’s the “anything” anyone can do about it.

I don’t believe watchOS can be downgraded to the latest public release the way iOS can. Unless that has changed in the last year or two, you’re stuck on the 26 betas once you go there. Of course, this is a developer beta so nobody here is installing it on their primary device…right? 🙃

In all seriousness, your only real options are to wait it out until the next beta or go to the Apple Store. I don’t know if Apple has a way to force a software downgrade. But maybe they’ll have mercy on you and swap out your watch for a refurb.

It can’t connect any longer to the machines in my gym (it was very nice to have the real distance while running in the treadmill).

Do you guys think that will be solved later in in watch os 26? Or likely the machines need to be updated (I don’t think that would happen)

Having looked into it, you seem to be correct. Apple Watch doesn’t seem to have a publicly available route to downgrading the OS. That’s on me; I assumed it was like an iPhone, iPad, or MacBook.

I suspect there you have two hopes of the Apple Store swapping out your Watch because you installed a beta on it and you hate it, and Bob’s dead.

I have Hermes one too, watch app on iPhone crashes straight away and also "watch face" app (when you edit / add new watch face) crashing on watchOS.
Battery went from 100%-5% in 2 hours due to constant crashing, unusable right now.

OK, it looks like it bears repeating. Herewith the rules of Developer Betas of Apple Software.
  1. Don’t install iOS 26 or iPadOS on an iPhone or iPad that needs to work. There are two routes to a fix; the first is just to wait until the next beta, and hope it solves your problem. The second is to reset your device to factory settings, with a complete loss of any data that’s not backed up.
  2. Don’t install macOS 26 on a Mac that needs to work. As per iPhone and iPad, there are two routes and one involves living with whatever’s broken until it unbreaks, and the other is a factory reset.
  3. Don’t install watchOS 26 on a Watch that needs to work, because if it breaks, it’ll stay broken until Apple fixes it.
  4. Something about Vision Pro. As above.
I get that people are curious about Liquid Glass, but developer betas are supposed to have sharp edges and can be extremely, data-threateningly broken, and that’s just the way it is.

Exactly the same. Also a Hermes, S9. The problem will be how to even apply a software update when the app crashes and the highest I’ve seen my battery get to is 7%. It’s been on the charger all night and has barely budged.

I’m guessing a commonality is Hermes. I had a lot of difficulty getting cell service activated last year and it turned out that it was the block of IMEIs that the carrier (Spectrum, FWIW) hadn’t registered. I share this not because that would be the issue here, but because it didn’t occur to me and most of the support people that there would be any logical difference between S9 watches with the A2982 model number, but there was, and for Hermes there is a firmware difference for the custom faces.

If you are affected submit detailed feedback, and put what you think is the salient issue in the subject line.

I have S8 + S4 Hermes, both the same problem. ChatGPT is saying they removed some API but the watch face code was not updated = hence the constant crashing.
