WOS 3.1 has been about the same as WOS3 for my 42mm AW S0. After 16 hours today, which included a 60 minute run using the Workout App and a 20 minute walk using Pedometer++, plus the usual amounts of notifications and text messages, I am at 18% battery.

On days I do not run, my battery is normally right at 50% at the end of the day, so not enough to last through the night and all the way to the end of the next day. I might have to get a S2 Nike just for the battery improvements...

I'm afraid 3.1.1 will break this amazing battery life - anyone bold enough to be testing it?

Just am update with mine, I'm at 47.5hrs continuous and at 19%. I will see if I get another 8hrs out of it! Highly impressed!!!
An update: my battery dropped to 10% at 52.5hours of continuous use. It is now down to 5% at 57 hours. I will put it into low power mode now to get me through the day.

Really impressed and hope future updates don't break this!!

Not me, I don't usually install beta version of iOS/watchOS on the devices I use the most since I'm always worried about missing notifications etc.
I wonder why they call it 3.1.1 since iOS is already moving to 10.2, I expected the next watchOS release to be 3.2 but it is just a number after all.

I hope they'll manage to keep this fantastic battery life with next versions, even in the future with watchOS 4.

Wow. Just upgraded from S0 to an S1 (both 42mm) and came here to see if the battery life on this thing was normal.

Last night when I put it on to charge I thought it was at 67% (my S0 has typically been in the 40s of late) but when I double-checked it was actually 87%. Today I'm coming up to five hours of use with everything turned on (notifications, heart monitor, raise-to-wake, etc) and I'm still showing 100%. And I've been using Overcast and other 3rd party apps this am too – this is nuts!

I don't know what to say. But this doesn't look right.

I got a space black SS series 2 on launch day with 3.0 and all features on, I was down to 75% by end of work day. This was amazing as with series 0 I would be down to 40%

I sold that and purchased a ceramic. 3.1 was already out so I didn't get a chance to test it out on 3.0

Today was day 2 and back to work

I took it off charger at 8am. I put it on at 11.30am and it was down to 98%

I took it off at work at 1pm because I was dealing with paints today n I didn't want it stained n put it back on at 9pm.

It was down to 84%

Wore till about 11.30pm (81%) It's 1am now and it's at 77%.

Doesn't look awesome imo like the rest of u guys.

I have activity sharing enabled so I'm not sure if that's s battery drain or not

I get 3 full days out of mine on a good day.
my aw2 ss with 3.1, first day normal use including 30 mins driving with gps, brightness at medium. left home at9am after 16hrs uses went tk bed 1am 68%. didnt charge and wear it at nite. 24 hrs at 60%. now is 40hrs at 30%. i feel it can last 3 mornings and 2 nites. good job but i dont mind charge it every nite, apple pls dont be too conservative with Apple Watch app.

A Watch S2 - Sports
Never owned an apple watch before:

Yesterday 100% at 6:00 am.
- Did 2 Activities with long walks, 1 swimming, messing around with breathe app and watch faces.
- Spoke over the phone from the watch for like 20 minutes
- Sent tons of messages from the watch
- Checked some emails from the watch
- Played with the Activity App a few more times

I didn't charge the watch over the night.

Woke up today at 6 a.m.
- Worked like crazy.
- Checked 2 emails and send 4 messages from the watch
- Did 2 breathing whatever from the watch
- Played around with LifeSum

it's 11:50 a.m. and my battery is at 47%

This is very nice! I am very happy with the battery life!

I will for sure put it to charge when it hits 35% but I reckon it will take another 2-3 hours till I do that.

I have activity sharing enabled too, and that doesn't seem to be a significant source of battery drain.

Ok so I didn't charge it last night. As I mentioned I went to bed at it being 77% at 1am and when I woke up at 9am it was at 72% which is great.

Wore it from 10am to 10pm and it's now at 49% which means 2% drain per hour whilst using it.

I'm going to leave it and not charge it and see where it sitting tomorrow at 8am when I start work

I wonder if we'll get the ability to have constant HR monitoring or an always on screen? Seems like the battery might be able to handle it.

Apple is probably going through its priority list as different people want difference things :)
What would sell it to me is good sleep tracking which is not dramatically impacting the now decent battery life (those were my two main complaints about the Apple Watch).

For the people stating all these amazing increases on their watches need to specify model, size, and settings on their watch. 42mm will get more life than a 38mm (might be confusing some people). People with background app refresh off, reduce motion on, brightness all the way down, no haptic feedback, etc. also affects the battery life. Not that you guys aren't getting great battery life (cause I am also), but it might help differentiate from the people who are getting 3-4 days of life (crazy!!!) compared to just 1-2 days.

For instance, I am getting an average of about 2 days (48 hours) out of my 38mm series 2.
Settings
-Middle brightness
-Low sound/low haptic
-Activity/Workout tracker/HR on
-light to medium usage (occasional music, working out, light GPS, messaging, email)
-Push notification on
-Reduce motion on

2 full days with the amount I'm using is pretty good.

Try resetting your watch but not restoring from a backup. This help mine S0 get much better battery life.

What do you mean by "resetting"? I have powered my 42mm S0 off and on a couple of times without any increase in battery life.

However, I have NOT tried to un-pair and re-pair my Watch since upgrading to WOS3.1.

If restarting doesn't help then try re-pairing. Nothing really to lose but up to an hour of time to complete.

Yup, I own a first gen Series 0. I've noticed slightly better battery life, but not up to the levels that some people are reporting here.

Those of us on a Series 0 are just not going to see the 2-3 day crazy battery lives that the Series 1 and 2 owners are. That was one of the big upgrades for the newer Watches. That doesn't mean we won't see much improved battery life though. My battery life is better than under 2.2 and I get this with the (somewhat) improved performance of OS 3. I'm happy enough. I just charge the Watch every night like I have been and I'm fine.

Do you lose all of your app settings and workout activity data when you re-pair? Also, why does it take an hour?
