Mine is bricked too. F*** this ****, We have (almost) no stores here in Germany. I will not accept a refurb / repair box for a perfectly fine and new watch. However, I have to wait till tomorrow to call them.

Apple have agreed that it wont be an aftercare repair. After sales are shipping a new watch to me once ups return mine to their depot. Anyone know if AppleCare gets automatically transferred.

I downloaded the update but haven't put my watch on the puck yet. Don't know how to keep it from installing or a way to cancel. However I do have an S0. Guess I will need to get it out and wear it while my S4 charges so 5.1 won't instal. I hope Apple pulls the update and quits signing it until it can be fixed.

While updating my Nike+ Apple Watch Series 4, I found this thread and feared the worst. Whew! My update went through without a problem.

Well there was no ECG that I can find. The only thing good was it downloaded and updated fast and I am thankful mine did not brick.
The app is not out, but there were reports 5.1 was enabling the functionality in WatchOS that the ECG app will need before it can work. I just wonder if that is causing the issues, since this only seems to affect Series 4.

Just got off the phone with a so-called "senior advisor" Totally clueless. I told her I am not the only person that this is happening to. She kept acting like she knew more than anyone else. She had me to power it off, didn't work. She had me restart my phone, didn't help. She had me unpair my watch from my phone, didn't help. She then suggested I take it to an Apple Store. She could get me an emergency appointment on Friday...lol. I checked IstockNow and none of the local stores have anything in stock. I was going to buy a new one and use that while mine is being repaired. I know they do not have replacements in the store, it has to be sent out.

Talking to Apple Support again, It's been three hours stuck on the logo. I received it today and got to use it for a whole five minutes before I updated it.

I ordered AppleCare+ with my Series 4, which usually offers upfront replacement. I will see what the folks at the AppleCare hotline tell me tomorrow morning. Too bad that I started my update after their office hours...

That really sucks. I had at least about 8 hours of fun with my watch before I bricked it ☹️

Cheapskate aluminium here but bricked for more than 2 hours now. What is the common factor? Where is everyone having this problem? Maybe it’s Regional?

Just seen it’s Europe and USA.
